# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned a private clinic known as Complete Care Medical Services in Abba, Njikoka LGA, built by Dr. Sunny Ekwunife and his wife, Dr. Uzoamaka Ekwunife for the people of Abba community and Anambra State in general .
While commissioning the project, Soludo represented by the Mayor of Njikoka LGA, Bar Chinedu Ononiba commended the owners for complementing his efforts in meeting the health needs of Ndi Anambra by bringing healthcare services to the door steps of the people of Abba, assuring that his administration will play its role to ensure that the facility is well sustained for the overall interest of Ndi Anambra.
Commenting on the facility, Dr. Ekwunife explained that the facility is a multi-specialty with state-of-the -art facilitates, including labs, pharmacy designed for proper diagnosis of illness before treatment.
On her part ,his wife,Dr Ekwunife disclosed that their aim of building the facility is to touch the lives of the people of Abba and environs by giving them access to quality and affordable healthcare, adding that the clinic offers exceptional laboratory services, authentic medication that can cure ailments.
# The Awka Council of Kingmakers has condemned what it described as persistent and unlawful interference by the Anambra State Government in the Awka traditional rulership, as well as alleged orchestrated media attacks on the Awka monarch, Dr Austin Ndigwe, Eze Uzu III.
The council, in a statement issued in Awka and signed by its members, said the alleged actions amounted to an assault on the cultural sovereignty and ancestral rights of the Awka people.
According to the statement, the Awka Traditional Rulership issues were long settled in line with Awka customs and traditions, stressing that Obi Ndigwe was duly selected, installed and enthroned by the legitimate kingmakers after the observance of all required rites and community consensus.
The kingmakers also expressed outrage over what they described as coordinated media attacks and smear campaigns against the monarch, including allegations of imposture and criticisms surrounding chieftaincy titles conferred on Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
# Stakeholders in Idemili-South LGA of Anambra state have unanimously endorsed Dr. Mrs. Amaka Obi’s second term ambition as the council chairman.
The stakeholders who expressed a consensus opinion at the maiden cultural carnival organised by the Mayor, said Amaka Obi deserves another term in office because the impact of her administration is being felt in all the nooks and crannies of Idemili-South Local Government Area.
They said that the incumbent Mayor has transformed the council area with her numerous projects and programmes and that the people want her to return again, so she could continue with her transformative governance and life-changing policies.
One of the stakeholders from Nnobi community, High Chief Hamilton Emeka Ezeonu (Ikemba Idemili), said the incumbent Mayor has performed beyond expectations.
# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed heartfelt condolences to his Chief of Staff, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, and his family following the death of his beloved mother, late Christians Ezeajughi at the age of 93.
Speaking during the burial mass held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Awgbu, Governor Soludo reflected on the profound pain of losing a mother, emphasizing that “there is never the best time to lose a mother or loved one no matter the age.”
Addressing the family and mourners, he offered words of comfort, asking the family to be consoled as they are blessed that thier mum died at 93, further adding that the joy was that they were able to look after her while she sojourned on earth.
# Nkwelle Ezunaka Community has elected a new ten man executives to oversee affairs of the town in the next three years.
The election which was keenly contested under a free and fair atmosphere which was also supervised by officials of the Anambra State government from the office of the Anambra State commissioner of local government, chieftaincy and town union matters Dr Collins Nwabunwanne as well as ASATU the umbrella body of all town unions president general in Anambra State.
Speaking after the conclusion of the election and announcement of the results, the outgoing president general Ogbuefi Willie Okafor who now is the new Traditional prime minister (Onowu) of the town thanked God for guiding the community to successfully elect a new executives despite challenges.
While congratulating the new executives, he urged them to carry everybody along both losers and winners stressing that they are brothers and sisters in pursuit of development of the town.
# President-General of Okija community in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State, Chief Paul Ohaguim Chikeobi has debunked and dismissed what he described as fake online stories of pregnant women delivering their babies in darkness at primary healthcare facilities in the community.
It would be recalled that online articles claimed that doctors and nurses at Ubahumonum and Oghalegbu primary healthcare centres in Okija community allegedly used candles and touchlights to deliver pregnant women of their babies due to outright lack of electricity in the health facilities.
The online stories also claimed that the deplorable conditions of the health centres are so catastrophic such that most times health personnel in the facilities struggled with darkness to do their jobs while patients suffer untold hardships even as the stories further claimed that the situation extended to other primary healthcare centres in Ihiala Local Government Area coupled with dearth of health professionals.
But the President-General of Okija community, Chief Paul Ohaguim Chikeobi, while speaking to newsmen, maintained that such stories were malicious, malignant and the machinations of mischief makers intended to bring the community to disrepute.
# The Mayor of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, has commissioned a 1km road project executed by Chief Barr. Sir J.S.C. Ekwunife (Okwuatuegwu) in Enugwu-Ukwu.
The event, graced by the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, HRM Igwe Sir Ralph Obumnemeh Ekpe (Eze Enugwu-Ukwu na Igwe Umunri), drew community members and dignitaries who came to celebrate the landmark achievement.
Barr. Ononiba commended Chief Barr. Sir Ekwunife for his vision and generosity, describing the road as a vital boost to local infrastructure.
In addition to the road, the Mayor also commissioned other essential community projects including the installation of solar street lights, a modern bus shelter, and a functional borehole — all donated by Chief Barr. Sir Ekwunife for the benefit of the people of Enugwu-Ukwu. These projects are aimed at enhancing mobility, safety, and access to clean water within the community.
Barr. Ononiba used the occasion to echo the call of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for more Public-Private-Community Partnerships (PPCP).
He encouraged other well-meaning stakeholders in Enugwu-Ukwu and across Njikoka to emulate this act of service by collaborating with government to bring development to the grassroots, stressing that collective efforts are key to achieving sustainable progress.
# Eucharia Ozoemenam, a native of Ifite-Ogwari in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State, who lives in Awka, has confessed that she deliberately and intentionally lied against Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP Patrick Chukwuemeka Agbazue on her Facebook page.
Ozoemenam who described the senior police officer who was in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID) annex at Awkuzu Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State
before his transfer to Imo State Police Command, as a killer, murderer and mastermind of violence and criminal expeditions, further confessed that she accused Agbazue of shedding innocent blood for pecuniary gains.
Investigations by this journalist revealed that Eucharia Ozoemenam does not know ACP Patrick Chukwuemeka Agbazue and has equally not met him in person or had any personal encounter with him at least to justify her claims. Rather she acted on what she lifted from TikTok and amplified it on her Facebook post just to destroy the image and reputation of the senior police officer.
