* The Commissioner for Lands, Anambra State Prof. Offornze Amucheazi (SAN) has re-emphasized his commitment towards giving landowners and prospective landowners in the State, the best of land administration.
Prof Amucheazi made this known during a prayer session organized for staff of the Ministry, held at the Awka office of the State Ministry of Lands to officially mark the beginning of the 2025 working year.
The Commissioner noted that he was working out plans to organize more training sessions for staff of the ministry in order to continually update them with professional and best attitudinal ways of carrying out their assigned jobs.
* As a way to assist the Anambra State Government in its responsibility of securing the life and property of citizens, Anaocha Council Area has hed its maiden development and security trust fund summit to find a lasting solution to insecurity, especially in the local government area.
The summit held in Agulu and chaired by Chief Chukwuemeka Obielom brought together top government officials, critical stakeholders, security chiefs, captains of industry, and traditional rulers.
It had the theme: ‘Repositioning security architectural system in Anaocha cum fundraising.’
Welcoming his guests, the Mayor of Anaocha, Comrade Rome Ibekwe said securing the life and property of Ndi Anaocha is paramount to his administration hence he is asking the stakeholders to join hands with him to restructure the security architecture in the local government area.
On his part, the Special Adviser To Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi disclosed that the state has achieved more in Public Private Community Partnership model of development in other sectors and advised that it is adopted also in the security sector.
* The Governor of Ekiti State Governor, Hon. Abayomi Oyebanji has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the visible infrastructure projects and transformation going on in the state.
The Governor who came on a private visit to the state, first called on the Governor at the Governor Lodge, Amawbia, after which Governor Soludo took him to the ongoing New Government House and Governor’s Lodge in Awka.
Speaking to the press after touring the project, Governor Oyebanji commended Governor Soludo for what he described as massive transformation.
He recalled his experience in Anambra six years ago and revealed that today notable transformations can be seen, pointing out that ndị Anambra are blessed to have Soludo as Governor.
* Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in-charge of Zone 13 Ukpo, Anambra State, Godwin Ndidi Aghaulor has decorated fifteen (15) who were recently promoted.

The AIG alongside Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam with other top police officers decorated the newly promotees in an event held at the Zonal headquarters in Ukpo, Dunukofia LGA.
In his speech after the decoration, Aghaulor reminded the promoted officers
of the increased level of responsibility that came with their new rank. The AIG encouraged them to exhibit higher wisdom in there actions and decision making processes as they lead their their subordinates.
* The People of Ozzu village of Ndiukwuenu, in Orumba North Local Government Area, have staged a peaceful protest to the Anambra State Government House in Awka to call for the immediate intervention of the state government in the seizure and mortgaging of the “Mamu River Forest Reserve”, as well as wanton destruction of their farmlands and other valuables by suspected land grabbers.

Commissioner for Lands, but are not satisfied with his response, calling on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to urgently intervene in the matter, to save the villagers from intimidation and life threatening attacks from the land grabbers.
Speaking, Ozzu village Chairman, Mr. Sunday Onwubuemeli; the village Youth LPriscilHon. Valentine Obieze and the Woman Leader, Mrs. Priscilla Okolialleged said the suspects have on several occasions arrested both young and old members of the village, and now deployed over five bulldozers to clear the Mamu River Forest Reserve, which is the major farmland of the villagers who have no other source of livelihood except farming, regretting that the act has left them nothing to feed on.
Responding on behalf of the state government, the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiegbolu, commended the protesters for their peaceful conduct during the demonstration and assured them of the Governor’s intervention in the case in no distant time.
* Omambala Youths Association (OYA) umbrella body of youths in the old Anambra Local Government Area of Anambra State comprising Oyi, Anambra East, Anambra West and Ayamwlum council areas has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to cause his aides and supporters, who used defaming and demeaning words against the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry (Uke), Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, aka Fr. Ebube Muonso, to withdraw such comments within working 7-days.
Those mentioned by the group as major attackers of Fr. Obimma include Ejimofor Opara, the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, who according to the group, described the priest as a hypocrite; Commissioner for Information in the state, Law Mefor, who the group said described Fr. Obimma as a pretender; coordinator of APGA media forum, Chinedu Obigwe, who the group said described Fr. Ebube Muonso as voice of the opposition political parties; as well as Mr. Osita Obi, a self-styled activist, who the group said gave the priest 14 days ultimatum to apologise to Soludo.
In a resolution statement after an ’emergency crucial meeting’ in Otuocha, Anambra East LGA headquarters, on Sunday, the group berated Soludo’s stance on Fr. Ebube Muonso’s warning about insecurity in Anambra State, and expressed disappointment that instead of attacking worsening cases of insecurity as observed by Fr. Ebube Muonso, the governor and his supporters were busy directing their attacks on the Catholic priest.

Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned St. Charles Galaxy Hospital, built by lchida community.
The Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor had earlier dedicated and blessed the hospital for smooth take-off.
Soludo in his speech while commissioning over 100-bed spaced hospital facility, acknowledged the basic responsibility of government towards the provision of health, education, and other needs of the citizenry and commended the community for the task of investing in humanity.
In a remark, the Manager of the hospital, Rev. Fr. Augustine Igwebuike, spelt out the mission of the facility towards efficient health care service delivery and reduction of mortality rate for neighbouring communities.

* KEON FC has emerged the winner of the 2024/2025 Urum Anike Unity Cup Football Tournament organized by Urum Development Union, Awka North Local Government Area.
The team won the tournament after beating Home Sample FC the second time through a penalty kick after a very tough first and second half of the game where both teams battled each other as though their lives depended on the trophy.
KEON FC smiled home with ₦1,000,000 cash prize; Home Sample FC came second went home with ₦600,000; and the third position, Future Hope FC received ₦300,000.
Speaking, the President General of Urum Anike Development Union, Sir Felix Oranye, while describing the 2024/2025 tournament as the best so far, commended teams that participated in the tournament for imbibing the spirit of sportsmanship, and appealed to Governor Chukwuma Soludo to come to the aid of the town in its major challenge which is the dilapidated road connecting it with Okpuno, Isuaniocha, Amanuke and Ugbene communities.
