* The member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke has visited Umuoba Anam Community, to kick off the construction of a pipe borne water project in the area. In a meeting with the stakeholders of Umuoba Anam recently, Hon. Nweke made it clear that he is fulfilling his campaign promises made to them and other communities in Anambra East, saying that despite the high cost of building and construction materials due to the high inflation in the country, he will ensure that all his projects would be of high quality and acceptable to the people.
The Lawmaker explained that his projects are not in anyway to hunt votes for his second term, but to make sure that communities in Anambra East enjoy true dividends of democracy during his tenure.

* The Director of Unizik Business School (UBS) at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Chinedu Onyeizugbe, led a group of over 40 master’s degree students and several staff members to participate in a three-day Business Case Writing Workshop at the Lagos Business School (LBS). Welcoming the participants, the Dean of Lagos Business School, Prof. Chris Ogbechie, expressed his confidence in the fruitful outcomes of the partnership between LBS and UBS. Ogbechie emphasized LBS’s reputation for excellence and encouraged the attendees to immerse themselves fully in the workshop to gain robust knowledge. Prof. Frank Ojadi, one of the facilitators and a faculty member at LBS, praised UBS for its proactive approach, highlighting some case studies produced by UBS doctoral students that are now utilized by business schools across Nigeria, including LBS.

* The Awka Local Government Council will be collaborating with development-driven stakeholders and organisations to bring more development to the area. The Transition Committee Chairman of the Council Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor who stated this in Awka, explained that council area is ready to work with individuals and companies who will be willing to help accelerate the development of the local government area. According to the new Awka Mayor, the called private entities, political representatives and service providers who has the goal of upholding the legacy of accountability and responsible stewardship to properly key into the Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of transforming the state. Prince Okafor used the opportunity to commend those who have keyed into the development initiative of the Soludo administration and called on others to emulate them, since according to him the development of Anambra State should be a collective responsibility.

* It was a heavy sigh of relief for the people of Atani community in Ogbaru LGA of Anambra state over the weekend, as one of the notorious criminals and self acclaimed kidnapper and ritualist by name Chukwunweike Nwabueze Ogene, who has been terrorizing the community was arrested by the police. There joy knew no bounds as it was a celebration of sorts, as they thanked the Commissioner of Police Anambra state, CP Itam, for coming to their aid.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Agha-Mba, has assured that no community and political ward in Anambra will be left behind in the phase two of one youth two skills entrepreneurship programme. The Commissioner gave the assurance while holding a mop up screening exercise for master trainers in Awka, which he said was an exercise aimed at achieving quality assurance and inclusiveness.
According to Hon. Agha-Mba, the mop up screening exercise for master trainers was to ensure that all communities and political wards are carried along as the programme will be community driven.

* His Eminence, Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpalaeke, the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese has commissioned a shopping plaza and a chapel built by Sir and Lady Godwin Maduka (KSM) at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church Umunze.
In his Homily, The bishop admonished the congregation to be humble even amidst the trials of life.

* The immediate past member that represented Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Benjamin Obidigwe has called for the establishment of at least thirty Internally Displaced Peoples’ camps in Anambra, ahead of the predicted flood in the state. This is coming as the National Meteorological Agency had announced impending flood incidents across major states of the federation that are situated at the coastal regions. According to Hon. Obidigwe who was the House Committee Chairman on Environment and Ecology while at the green Chambers, it is always devastating to say the least when the flood comes, and the worse victims are women and children while farm lands are destroyed.

* A Political Support Group known as 21 over 21 Support Group has collapsed its structures across 326 Wards of Anambra State into All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared its support for the governorship aspiration of Sir Paul Chukwuma of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The Support Group which comprises of some former ward chairmen and executives of All Progressive Grand Alliance, who were instrumental for the 21 over 21 Re-Election Victory of Former Governor Willie Obiano and election of Professor Soludo in the last election also resolved to go back to their various wards to ensure a resounding victory for Sir Paul Chukwuma in APC Primary Election.

* Nnamdi Azikiwe University lecturer, Dr. Charles Chikwendu Okpala has emerged the winner of the Isambard Kingdom Brunel (IKB) Fellowship for the 2023/2024 academic session. The Isambard Kingdom Brunel Fellowship is anchored by the Brunel Fellowship Academy, University of Brunel, London in the United Kingdom. Dr. Okpala who emerged the winner from a pool of numerous academics who applied for the fellowship from all over the globe, is a Reader (Associate Professor) of Production Engineering and Management Systems, in the Department of Industrial/Production Engineering, at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. The programme is aimed at fostering high-quality collaboration between the Fellows and Brunel academics, boosting the Fellow’s publications and grant applications, as well as raising the fellow’s profile, by expanding their network and broadening their experience of collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba North Local Government Area, Barr. Casmir Nwafor has assured the people of the area especially workers of the council of his preparedness to domesticate Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s good governance in Orumba North through effective administration as well as priority for the well-being of the people. Speaking at the Orumba North Council Secretariat, Ajalli during a meeting with the management staff of the council, Barr Nwafor noted that he has come to change the face of Orumba North and Ajalli in particular for the better, urging the staff to show more commitment to their duties and shun acts capable of retarding the pace of development in the area. The Orumba North Council Boss who revealed that he will relocate from his home town Oko to live in the council headquarters, Ajalli for work efficiency and for effective supervision, commended Governor Soludo for the numerous development projects he has completed in Orumba North in addition to the ongoing ones and called on the people of the area to continue to give the Governor the necessary support.
