* The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the entire Ibezim family, friends and well wishers have paid their last respect to their late father, brother, uncle and friend, Late Sir Nnamdi Clifford Ibezim who died at the age of 65. The late Sir Nnamdi was until his demise the brother to the Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, and the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim. In a sermon during the funeral service at St Lawrence Church Parish, Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area, the Bishop on the Lake, Rt Reverend Chijioke Oti, reminded Christians that they are mortals and shall one day depart from the earth to a place of eternity, encouraging them to always be heavenly minded and use their lives to make positive impact while on earth.
* Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress for the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma has inaugurated Committee to draft a policy document and manifesto.
The Committee, which has Dr. Tony Onyema as Chairman is made up of 12 members in the first instance with Barr. C.J. Chinwuba serving as the Secretary. The inauguration took place in the presence of the members of the State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Anambra State.

* Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated the Anambra Beach Soccer Team popularly called Anambra Warriors for an an impressive second place finish in the National Beach Soccer League concluded in Kaduna on Saturday. Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors finished behind depending champions Kebbi Beach Soccer Club ahead of Kebbi United Beach Soccer Club and Kada Beach Soccer Club which finished third and fourth respectively.

* A total of 3,000 cluster-based Micro, Small Scale Entreprises, MSMEs from the three senatorial districts in the state are being trained and funded through the support of the European Union (EU). The MSMEs’ support programme being implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will see each of the benefitting businesses receive N100, 000 grant.
* South East House of Assembly caucus of Labour Party (LP) has express happiness and gratitude to the Southeast Governors, Senators and House of Representatives members on their recent resolve to interface with the Federal Government for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from detention. The caucus also appeal to the Governors of South East Region and indeed the whole nation to work to grant full financial autonomy to the State Houses of Assembly in accordance with the constitution and the Principles of Separation of Powers.
* The member representing Njikoka two constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon. Jude Akpua on Saturday July 13th 2024 at the local government heardquaters, Abagana, gave account of his stewardship in the past one year as a lawmaker. Hon. Akpua who is the Deputy Majority Leader of the 8th Anambra Assembly while presenting his score card said his constituency has developed following his developmental strides in many sectors. * The operatives of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency (ACTDA), has demolished a shrine and stores of traders doing businesses at the Government Residential Area (GRA), behind the State Government House along Enugu-Onitsha expressway Awka. The demolishing exercise supervised by the Agency’s Enforcement Commandant, Mr. Okonkwo Ukachukwu, also extended to other part of the State capital where many of the illegal structures marked with a warning notices by the agency were equally destroyed for flaunting the order.
* Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has emphasized that the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA is still in one roof under the leadership of its National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa and his executive. According to the Governor, APGA will continue to wax stronger under the Chairmanship of Barr. Ezeokenwa. On the issue of local government autonomy, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to conducting a local government election. While pointing out that it is adequately captured in his campaign manifesto, Governor Soludo stated that he mentioned it in his inauguration speech, stressing that it still remains his stand.
