# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed shock and profound sorrow over the news of the passing of, former President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday in the United Kingdom at 82 years.

In his condolence message signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, Soludo remarked that the demise of the former president marks the end of an era as he was a towering figure in Nigeria’s history and a dedicated patriot of our country.

“His life was characterised by an unyielding commitment to integrity, discipline, and the pursuit of a better Nigeria.

“From his early days as a military officer to his tenure as Head of State and later as a democratically elected President, he consistently demonstrated a profound love for Nigeria and its people. Of particular recall was his popular stance against public indiscipline as executed with War Against Indiscipline (WAI) campaign during his first coming as military head of state.

The Governor further recalled President Buhari’s contributions to national development as pivotal and unforgettable. His administration’s efforts in security, infrastructure, and the fight against corruption were notable.

# In a bold stride toward agricultural revitalization and rural empowerment, Dr. Christopher Ndubuisi has officially launched the “We Must Farm” Cooperative in his hometown of Umuawulu, Anambra State.

The event, which drew a large turnout from community members and neighboring villages, featured the donation of vital farming tools and machinery aimed at fostering self-reliance and food security.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the We Must Farm Cooperative : a subsidiary of the Christopher Ndubuisi Foundation, Prince Onyekwelu Igboamazu described his appointment as both humbling and inspiring.

He praised Ikéngà Umuawulu’s passion for agriculture, community development, and poverty alleviation, describing him as “a man whose heart beats constantly for the progress of his people.” He added, “With this level of vision and generosity, Ikéngà is doing more than the government. He’s raising farmers who will feed the nation.”

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called for concerted efforts towards ensuring a safer and better Nigeria.

The Governor made the call through his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Nnobi during the first Holy Mass and thanksgiving of the Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Omenugha’s son, Rev. Fr. Damian Omenugha, and his colleague, Rev. Fr. Rufus Ezechukwu who were ordained Catholic priests.

Soludo who regretted how Nigeria deteriorates daily, emphasized on the need for both the government and the citizens to join hands to restore the country to its pride of place.

# In a bid to enhance the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Awka South LGA, the Mayor, Prince Okafor has taken proactive steps to address logistical challenges faced by INEC officials.

Responding to multiple reports highlighting the difficulties encountered by electoral officials, the Mayor swiftly announced a financial contribution to aid the process and noted that the initiative is designed to ease the logistical burden, ensure that both INEC staff and local government officials can carry out their duties without hindrances.

In his statement, he reaffirmed his dedication to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and facilitating the active participation of Awka residents in the upcoming elections.

# Anambra State Police Command, working closely with the Delta State Police, has successfully recovered an abandoned school bus belonging to SUSU College.

The Police Officers attached to the Isiowulu Police Division, who had been investigating the case, acted on credible intelligence received in the early hours of July 12, 2025.

The vehicle was found abandoned opposite the Magistrate Court, Asaba, Delta State.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended the swift synergy between both Commands and reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation between sister security agencies in tackling crimes that transcend state boundaries.

# Another Gunman has been arrested in connection with the killing of two persons at Ekwulobia community of Anambra state.

This according to the police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, is coming barely forty eight hours after one suspect was neutralized and another arrested at the crime scene.

The arrest of the suspect according to the police is yielding the desired results as the suspect is currently helping the police with useful information that will lead to the arrest of the fleeing members of the gang.

The Anambra state police commissioner CP Ikioye Orutugu hailed the bravery of officers and men of the command, for the proactive measures in going after the hoodlums responsible for the killing of innocent members of the public.

He warned that the command will no longer tolerate the killing of innocent persons under his watch.

# The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command, under the leadership of Sector Commander Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander, has launched a new initiative aimed at enhancing standards in certified driving schools and promoting greater efficiency and transparency in the driver’s license acquisition process.

In collaboration with the Driving School Proprietors Association of Anambra State, the Command has produced banners listing the names of FRSC-certified driving schools, which will be displayed at all Driver’s License Centres across the state.

With this initiative, the FRSC Anambra State Command aims to reinforce the integrity of the National Driver’s License Scheme (NDLS) and advance the Corps’ overall road safety objectives. This effort is expected to contribute significantly to reducing road traffic crashes and promoting safer roads across the state.

This initiative is designed to achieve several key objectives, including:

# The Chairman of APGA in Anaocha LGA,
Chief Sir Anthony Ugorji has called on the residents to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise.

Ugorji emphasized that having a voter’s card is crucial for re-electing Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in the forthcoming Anambra state 2025 Guber election.
