* Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Nonye Soludo, has assured that with the current strategic engagements and interventions in the state’s health sector, death of mother and child would be effectively reduced in the shortest time. Mrs. Soludo, who was speaking in Awka, explained that so far, the state has made significant progress on policy implementation, including recruitments and training of health professionals in different health facilities in Anambra State on the best service delivery.

* The Nigerian Correctional Centre Anambra State, has denied the allegation that the proprietor of Best Aluminum, Chief Pius Nweke, is missing in its custody. Nweke was convicted recently by Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Awka, Anambra State on two counts charge marked FHC/AWK/CR/45/2020, brought against him by the Inspector General of Police, which relate to possession of firearms and of ammunition without a licence. Reacting to the development following an inquiry, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Anambra State, Mr Phrank Kez, described the Abba community’s allegation as untrue.

* Anambra State Government is currently training Community Health Extension Workers and Nurses on Modified Life Saving Skills in Awka. The exercise which will be in three batches drew participants from the twenty-one local government areas of the state, while reasonable number of the participants came from flood prone local governments areas.

* The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will on Tuesday, arraign former aviation minister, Sen. Stella Oduah, before Justice James Omotosho of a Federal High Court in Abuja on a fresh charge. Oduah, who represented Anambra North Senatorial Distinct in the 9th National Assembly, will be arraigned on an eight-count charge bordering on perjury and document falsification

* The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa has pleaded with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu President to
release the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as a way of solving the security challenges facing the South-East. Ezeokenwa made the appeal in an open letter to Mr. President captioned “Urgent Need to Release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for Security, peace and prosperity in the South-East, Nigeria.

* Agulu Lake Football Club and the International Academy registered both in Nigeria and South Africa are waxing strong. The founder of the outfits, Mr Michael Eduputa, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen. He said, “This Agulu Lake Football Club and the International Academy were registered both in Nigeria and in South Africa in Conjunction with Edumiky Soccer Links International PTY LTD, CAF and FIFA license Agent, Recognized by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)”

* The people of Umuona Community in Aguata Local Government Area, have reassured Governor Chukwuma Soludo of their total support and loyalty. The President General, Umuona Progressive Union, Chief Kenneth Okoli, who gave the assurance during the installation of a new traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Sunday Ezeofor, following the dethronement of Chief Humphrey Ejesieme, by Anambra State Government, described Umuona Community as peace loving.

* The Unusual Praise members has stormed Onitsha metropolis to inform the teeming inhabitants about the Unusual Praise 2023 that would hold in Onitsha. Fielding questions from journalists in Onitsha, the co-ordinator of Onitsha Unusual Praise 2023, Augustina Igbokwe disclosed that their mission to Onitsha was to intimate the people that Unusual Praise 2023 would hold in Onitsha on Friday November 10, 2023 at the Cathedral Basilica of the Most Holy  Trinity Onitsha.

* The management of Soprom Hotels Limited, 3-3 Estate, close to Onitsha has spoken after a fire incident broke out in the facility recently. A section of the hotel had been engulfed by mystery fire, which made lodgers to scamper for safety. The part affected by the fire included a hall and the gym house. The proprietor of the hotel, High Chief Ben Okafor, who spoke during a party hosted by the management of the hotel to thank God for sparing the facility said rumours of the hotel being burnt down entirely were lies.

* The Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim made a stop along the popular ogidi market following the sight of burning of refuse inside drainages. In a bid to allay the Indiscriminate disposal and burning of refuse inside drainages (Gutters). Dr. ibezim admonished shop owners who carried out this shameless act

* Anambra State Government has begun verification exercise for staff of the defunct Anambra State Water Corporation and Anambra State Environmental Protection Agency. The 10 days exercise holding at Anambra State Water Asset Holdings Corporation Headquarters, Amudo Awka, is geared to ascertain genuineness of staff.
