* Anambra State House of Assembly has called on the Governor Chukwuma Soludo to cause for immediate action, the establishment and construction of more permanent holding centers for flood Internally Displace Persons (IDP) for each of the river line local government area of the state.
* Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated the immediate former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, on his sixty seventh birthday celebration. * Anambra State Police Command has arrested and detained eleven suspects in various cases of rape and defilement reported in the last one week. An obscene video clip last Tuesday went viral showing a young lady aged 19 years being gang raped by a group of boys. Investigation revealed that the incident happened at Orama-etiti, Anam. The Police at Otuocha collaborated with the local vigilante in the area and arrested six suspects involved in the criminal act.
* Police at Abagana community in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State while on patrol with the local vigilante, arrested three suspects on the allegation of rape of a 15 year old girl. The suspects are Chimezie Odugwu ‘M’ 21 years old, Nnamdi Anodebe ‘M’ aged 19 years old, and Jude Onua 48 years old. From the confession of the suspects, they found the victim wandering at Abagana junction before Chimezie lured her to Nnamdi’s house in the same locality and both had carnal knowledge of her.
* Some community leaders in Isuaniocha , Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State have called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to probe into the activities of one Inspector Bitrus Dauda in the community. ANN gathered that ndi Isuaniocha alleged that the Police Inspector, Dauda from Homicide Department, Force CID Abuja, have been a willing tool in the hands of some persons who are bent on destroying Isuaniocha Community over their selfish interest.
* Police Operatives from Ekwulobia Division in Aguata LGA in Anambra State has arrested one Chinenye Ezemehege aged 41 years in connection to the case of defilement of a 13-year-old girl. The suspect who claim to be a Security Guard at the market confessed to the act and stated that he had been paying the girl #500 to #1000 for her “service”. Preliminary information revealed that the parents of the girl normally send her to get firewood at the Ekwulobia Market before she fell prey to the suspect.
* Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the commissioner For works or the Managing Director Anambra Roads Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to as a matter of urgency commence pallative work on the failed portion of Oba-Ichi-Okigwe road. Majority leader Hon. Sylvester Ikenna Ofodem the chief sponsor of the motion said the failed road with a spur at Ichi town between Iche primary school bus stop and Iche girls secondary school bus stop needs urgent attention so as to forestall further lost of lives and property.
* Police Operatives attached to Atani Division arrested one Odimako Ikenga ‘M’ aged 38 years of Ossomala Village, Ogbaru LGA, Anambra state. The suspect has been on the Police wanted list in an ongoing investigation of a case of defilement of a 12-year-old girl reported to the Police Station on 28 August 2022.
* The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has described the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Victor Ike-Oye as a giant in the field of politics in Nigeria. Felicitating Dr. Ike-Oye on his 67th birthday on behalf of the State Legislature, Udeze noted that the former APGA National Chairman had contributed immensely to the growth of APGA in the country as well as promotion of internal democracy and unity among party faithful
* Anambra Commissioner of Police CP Aderemi Adeoye has commended Police operatives and vigilantes for being alive to their responsibility to society. He expressed his determination to tackle headlong the menace of sexual crimes and gender-based violence in the State. He has vowed that there will be no hiding place for sexual predators especially those who prey on minors. The Commissioner has directed that all the rape suspects indicted in the course of the investigation be arraigned in court without delay once investigation is concluded.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo says his administration will continue to promote human capital development especially as it concerns education. Governor Soludo stated this at Oyi local Government Headquarters, Nteje during the grand finale of the first edition of Oyi Local Government Area School Debate organized for both primary and secondary schools in the council area.
