* Anambra Government through the State Internal Revenue Service, has inaugurated the sale of 2023 emblem at Onitsha. The ceremony was performed by the Executive Director, Operations of the Service, Dr Christian Madubuko on behalf of the Acting Chairman. The inaugural ceremony commences the sale of the emblems for 2023 which will be purchased by commercial vehicle including tricycle operators.
* Surveillance Operatives of Anambra State Police Command have arrested a gunman at a popular hotel (name withheld) in Awka, Anambra state. The suspect who gave his name as Akuchieani Echezona, a male resident of Ifite Awka, was disarmed, arrested and taken into custody..
* Anambra State High Court sitting at Ogidi Court One, Idemili North Local Government Area and presided over by Chief Justice Peter Obiora, has returned Chief Sir Joseph Ilonze, the duly elected President of People’s Club of Nigeria International to office. Chief Ilonze was forcefully removed from office by the plaintiffs, led by Chief Lawrence Arinze.
* The member representing Idemili North Constituency, Hon. Kingsley Udemezue has visited School of Nursing and Midwifery Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra state to inspect the activities in the school and the damaged portions of the school caused by erosion. The State Lawmaker was led round to inspect the school premises, classrooms, medical learning facilities, by the College’s Deputy Provost.
* The empowerment of participants at the pilot phase of the One youth, two skills programs of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration will commence by August, 2023. The Commissioner for Youth, Mr. Patrick Aghamba disclosed this in Awka following the successful completion of the pilot phase of the scheme.
* Men of Anambra State Police Command have arrested three members of an armed syndicate that targets Dangote Trailers plying the highways in the State. The Police acting on a tip off stormed the hideout of the syndicate at Nnokwa where three suspects were arrested vandalizing two trailers. The vandalized head of one of the trailers was recovered while the whereabout of the other is yet to be ascertained.

* Anambra State branch of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), has called on the State Local Government Service Commission, to immediately suspend the eleven members arraigned for alleged forgery and attack on it leadership in the state. The State Chairman of NULGE, Comrade Adigwe Chikwelu, who made the called while speaking to Journalists in Awka, on Saturday, also called for their salaries to be put on hold too.

* Anambra State High Court sitting in Onitsha has ruled on the rightful name of the popular social cultural club ‘People’s club of Nigeria’ in a landmark case. Justice J.I. Nweze, of Onitsha judicial division on 21st June, 2023 ruled in a case between The people’s club of Nigeria and two others versus United Bank for Africa and another, stating that the right name of the popular social cultural club is as is registered in the registration document with the corporate affairs commission.
* Former Anambra Senator Uche Ekwunife has condemned sand miners in the state, saying that they are destroying the environment. She said that environmental laws exist to regulate sand mining, but that these laws are not being enforced. She made this known at a town hall meeting between Governor Soludo and Anambra indigenes living in Abuja. Ekwunife also called for the Anambra state government to monitor how households are planting coconut and palm oil seedlings, which are economic trees that can help to checkmate erosion. She said that Anambra is an erosion-prone environment, and that both man-made and natural erosion can be damaging.
* Youths of Anambra State extraction have been urged to key into the one youth Two skills Programme of the Soludo administration to become employers of labour. The Chairman of Anaocha local Government Area Transition Committee, Chief Gerald Ozoh who made the call in Awka described the One Youth Two Skills Initiative as part of efforts by the Soludo administration to empower the youths.
