* Youths alongside elders and stakeholders of Ifite Nteje community in Oyi Council Area, have embarked on a peaceful protest urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to implement the Anambra State Government whitepaper on Ifite Nteje land. Speaking during the protest, Chairman of Ojiani Ifite Nteje, Mr. Paul Egwuatu said that the peaceful protest aimed at notifying the public that Ifite Nteje community does not sell her lands and a call on the EFCC to implement the State Government white paper on Ifite Nteje lands to enable their women cultivate on their land and bring a lasting solution to the crises in the community.

* The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated Ikemefuna Asika on his emergence as the Vice President for the Southeast Zone of the association. Asika’s appointment was confirmed in a letter signed by the National President, Benjamin Isaiah, and the Secretary General, Ikenna Okonkwo, dated July 1. This followed his nomination by the Chairmen of chapters in the zone, replacing Frankie Omokhua who was removed by the SWAN Full Council in Kano on May 1.

Prof. Chukwuma Soludo inaugurated the Transition Committee Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Areas in the State. This event signifies more than just a ceremony; it represents a call to service, a dedication to serving our public with integrity and commitment.

Our goal is to establish a strong local government system that provides outstanding service to our citizens. Recently, we successfully enacted the Anambra Electoral Bill into law, and we are in the process of appointing commission members, equipping them with the necessary resources, and initiating local government elections following the current constitutional framework.

I made this pledge to you, Ndi Anambra, and we are dedicated to honoring it.

* First Bank of Nigeria Limited has renovated and commission a six classroom block at Community Secondary School, Ihite, Orumba South Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The Ihite Development Union (IDU) also donated a new generator to the school to ensure uninterrupted power supply and guarantee seamless learning process even during power outages. President General of Ihite Development Union, Surveyor George Madu, thanked their illustrious son, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, for attracting the project to his community, described the event as testament to collective commitment to achieving excellence by creating conducive environment for learning, growth and innovation, saying it marks a new chapter in the history of the community school. He thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for allowing communities partner for sustainable development, appealed to the government to also help the once boarding school return to its past glory by constructing perimeter fence to protect men and materials therein, describing it as one of the pressing needs of the community.

* Anambra Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has charged Police Operatives to be on the offensive against armed hoodlums, following the commencement of training and retraining of personnel aimed at enhancing Operation efficiency, acquiring more skills in crime prevention strategies, and building courage and confidence in confronting armed hoodlums and responding to distress calls. The CP made this remark on Wednesday July 3rd 2024 as he led trainees to the shooting range and assessed the schedule of the ongoing training. He reiterates the Command commitment to improving public safety and enforcing law and order in the State. The CP warned those who were misled to take to crime to retrace their steps as the Police and other Security Agencies will not allow some disgruntled elements to make life unbearable for the residents of the State.

* Anambra state government through Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, has extended its extensive drainage desilting drive across the state.
The enforcement team of OCHA Brigade led by the Managing Director, Comrade Celestine Anere commenced the drive with sensitization and evacuation of debris on Old market road by Union Bank/Bright street Onitsha. Addressing the people, Comrade Anere revealed that to avoid flooding, drainages must be properly cared for in order to avoid damaging of properties and newly constructed roads built by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

* Members of Anambra Keke Drivers Forum (AKDF) on Wednesday July 3rd 2024 expressed their displeasure over irregularities confronting the union. AKDF members protested in front of the Anambra State House of Assembly, urging Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the lawmakers to intervene. Cordinator Anambra Keke Drivers Forum,

Comrade Osita Obi while speaking commended the state government on its efforts in taking touts out of the streets.

* Anambra State House of Assembly has held a two-day training programme for senior staff, with the theme of the training “Empowering Legislative Staff for Enhanced. The Speaker, Anambra Assembly, Rt. Hon Somtochukwu Udeze while speaking said training and retraining of civil servants is a crucial tool for capacity building and a sustainable workforce. Udeze, represented by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, noted that the training marks the first of its kind in the history of the state legislature, attributing the initiative to his various reform programmes. He thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for approving the training and urged the legislative staff to take it seriously to enhance their knowledge in civil service and overall productivity.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi has urged residents in the council area to desist from plastic pollution. She said that, plastic pollution is poisoning our oceans and land, whereby injuring marine life and affecting our health, urging every household in the council area to recycle their plastic bottles, plastic bags and turn them into wealth. While charging the residents to stop littering their environment and desist from dumping refuge on drainages to avoid flooding, she implored them to embrace healthy living championed by Mrs Nonye Soludo.

* Nnamdi Azikiwe University has said that the audio clip making rounds claiming that students with outstanding carryovers have been granted clemency is false.
This was disclosed by the Public Relations and Special Duties, Dr Emma Ojukwu in a statement made available to the media. According to the statement, the university’s academic policies and procedures are clearly outlined in the student handbook. Students were called upon to familiarize themselves with the said guidelines to avoid misinformation and ensure a smooth academic journey.

* The President General of Ogbaru Main Market, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, has dedicated the award he received from the Anambra State Local Government Service Commission to Professor Charles Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State. Chief Ochiogu made this announcement shortly after receiving the award, which was also bestowed upon notable individuals including Chief Cletus Ibeto, Chief Innocent Chukwuma (Chairman of Innoson Motors), retired Assistant Inspector General of Police Chris Ezike, prominent political leader Chief Mike Nwakalor, and the traditional ruler of Ochuche in Ogbaru Local Government Area. Expressing his gratitude, Chief Ochiogu, who was accompanied by traders from Ogbaru Main Market to the award ceremony at Hilton Hotel in Awka, admitted his surprise at being nominated.
