* Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has explained that the primary consciousness of hygiene in the market begin with traders who have to understand that they play a major role in what people consume. The governor’s wife who was speaking at Afor Igwe Main Market, Umudioka, where she continued her ongoing market outreach, explained that a bunch of the responsibility to healthy living falls on the table of those who produce or trade what people eat.
Addressing the market people, Mrs Soludo told them to maintain caution in how they store foods, avoid the application of poisonous chemicals in the process, maintain simple personal hygiene practices, keep their surroundings clean, and ensure that people around them learn same from them.

* The Bishop on the Niger, Church of Nigeria, (Anglican Communion,) Rt. Rev. Dr Owen Nwokolo, has expressed displeasure over the high level of hunger, starvation, challenging the Federal Government to reverse the development with despatch. According to the Prelate, today’s prices of essential food items have astronomically risen beyond the reach of average Nigerian. Unfortunately, hunger and starvation now challenge every household in the country resulting in the regrettable high rate of deseaes and death of fellow Nigerians. Handing out the challenge in the Presidential Address he delivered on Friday during Third Session of 32nd Synod of the Diocese, holding at St Christopher’s Anglican Church, Odakpu, the Bishop expressed worries over what he said the harsh economic situation had caused Nigerians.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo says all Anambra those who toil everyday, trying to make a living for themselves, in the neighborhood, can now trade their wares in a decent and befitting environment. The Governor of Anambra State made this statement before Commissioning “Solution Arena” located around Abakaliki Street (Club Street) on Saturday, June 8.
Soludo said the arena which has spots for fruits, vegetables, grills and sundry items, are given out, free of cost to street traders and that the the arena is a “Proto-Type”
and model of structures that will be replicated across Anambra cities, to permanently solve the street trading problem.

* The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese Right Reverend Prosper Amah says there are abundant benefits in keeping the commandments of God. In a sermon at Immanuel Anglican parish Umunankwo, during a service of confirmation and admission into Mothers Union and Girls Guild, Bishop Amah regretted that many Christians are working for God without knowing Jesus Christ and called on such people to have a rethink. Amah who during the service charged the faithful to always put into practice what is contained in the Holy scripture, urged Christians to always pray for and love their enemies. He cautioned the faithful against harboring grievances, pointing out that as children of God, they should only engage in those acts capable of winning more souls for Christ.

* Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Public Petitions chaired by
Hon. Obi Nweke has adjourned the case brought by a select few from Amakor village, Nanka in Orumba North Council Area, against the traditional ruler, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo, and the President General, Reverend Canon John Ezeike over alleged involvement in illegal sand mining in the village. The petitioners, under the auspices of Amakor Njikoka Development Union, alleged that the traditional ruler engaged in sand mining contrary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s directive, which banned illegal sand mining at Nanka gully erosion site and the removal of a security gate leading to the mining site. However, during the case presentation, the main issue appeared to be that the accusation was aggression of the petitioners for wrongful denial of the position of Traditional Prime Minister to Amakor village by Igwe Ezeilo.

* The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Anambra State Chapter at the weekend held a mini- rally in Awka, strategize ahead Of 2025 governorship election. Anambra PDP Chairman Engr. Chigozie Igwe in his speech said the party is poised to end the lingering misrule the state has suffered under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) in the past 18 years. Igwe who acknowledged the misfortunes of the party during the 2023 general election, contented that PDP remains the bastion of hope for Nigerians at all levels of governance.

* The Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Ephraim O. Ikeakor has identified politicians and the political leaders as Nigerian’s problems. Bishop Ikeakor while speaking recently during his press briefing on 2024 Synod said If we don’t get it right into the leadership of this country, we are going nowhere.

* One thousand three hundred (1,300) members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development, Awka, joind All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The Governor of Anambra State Prof. Chukwuma Soludo in his speech while welcoming the defected members, described APGA as a “Movement For Development”. Soludo stated that the event is historic and expressed happiness that PDP in Anambra has woken up and discovered the way, joining APGA movement that will take them to the promised land.

* The Healthy Living Exhibition Garden currently being set up by the wife of the governor of Anambra State and founder of the non-governmental crusade, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has entered into transplanting stage. The preliminary gardening process, which began two weeks ago, has now gone into primary and secondary stage, with crops being transplanted from crates into the prepared soil. The gardening procedure had been intense and carefully followed up on, with the governor’s wife leading up every process of setting up the large garden.

* The funeral church service for Somadina Christian Maduka at St Peter’s Parish Anglican Church, Abagana, in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, was marked by a powerful sermon from the Anglican Bishop of Ihiala diocese, Prof Israel Okoye. The Prelate admonished Christians to reject materialism and embrace Jesus, emphasizing that many people profess Christ without truly knowing Him. Bishop Okoye reassured Christians that they had a place to go and encouraged them to hold onto hope, citing John 14:1-3 as his sermon reference.
