* Anambra State House of Assembly, Committee on Public Accounts has expressed satisfaction with the financial verification from the Office of the Governor for the year ended December 31st, 2023. The Committee, led by the member representing Ogbaru Constituency One, Hon. Noble Igwe also assessed the Ministry of Information, Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, and the Anambra State Information Communication Technology Agency. After reviewing the audited reports, Hon. Igwe expressed satisfaction with the transparent accounts by the ministries and agencies.

* Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has explained that her major desire is to be there for all Anambra women and children and to support her husband to give Ndi Anambra the best.
Mrs. Soludo stated this when she received the National Women Leaders of All Soludo Support Groups (ASSG) at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia. Addressing the women, Mrs Soludo noted that hers as a governor’s wife is to play a supporting role to her husband, whom she reassured, has the best interest of Anambra women at heart. She noted that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is keen on delivering excellent governance, stating that with the current pace of development ongoing in Anambra State, Governor Soludo is determined to set a standard that will stand the test of history.

* The Commissioner of Police CP. Nnaghe Obono Itam urges Ndi Anambra and residents alike to dissociate themselves from any act that threatens public peace and national unity and reiterates that the Command shall live up to its mandate of ensuring that no person or group of persons is allowed to infringe on the fundamental human rights of others, especially the rights to freedom of movement and right to dignity of human persons. According to a release by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the affirmation was given after a critical threat analysis by the Command based on the information and intelligent report of persons and groups mobilizing for a protest on June 12, 2024, Democracy Day a day mapped out to commemorate the restoration of democracy in the country.

* The Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme, Dr. Nelson Omenugha has emphasized the importance of having a healthy lifestyle in building a viable and progressive society.
Omenugha said that healthy lifestyle helps to increase productivity which he said will metamorphose into having a healthy economy and a more productive society. Dr. Omenugha who was reacting to the recent healthy living market outreach embarked on by the wife of the Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, noted that the initiative is timely as most people don’t understand the need to embrace simple and cheap practices that will earn one a healthy life.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Tuesday June 11, 2024 signed eleven laws passed by the Anambra State House of Assembly. The bills signed into law are; Anambra State Electoral Law, 2024. Anambra State Touting Prohibition Law, 2024. Secret Cult and Similar Activities Prohibition Law, 2024. Health Facilities and Accreditation Agency Law, 2024.
Others are; Anambra State Peace Building and Conflict Management Agency.
Anambra State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (ANSOGPADEC) Law, 2024. Market Safety and Protection Law, 2024. Trafficking in Person Prohibition Law, 2024. Anambra State Private Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery Law, 2024. Law to Amend the Anambra State House of Assembly Service Commission Law 2021 and for other Connected Purposes. and
Anambra State Revenue Administration (Consolidand Harmonization) Law.

* The Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye has empowered constituents from Nibo Ward three with start-up equipment

such as sewing, grinding, hair dryers machines and deep freezers to kick-start their journey into using some of their skills. Okoye who is the member representing Awka South two constituency also commissioned modern boreholes in strategic areas to cushion the effects of water scarcity in the area.
According to the lawmaker, the initiative was to serve the immediate needs of the people and to complement the efforts of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration in the state. He pointed out that each of the water facilities has 24/7 power supply with regular maintenance provided for in order to achieve optimum performance.

* The Anambra State Chapter of the Real Estate Developers Association has debunked a claim by one Chinwe Splendour that 95% of female realtors in Anambra state engage in sexual activities with chief executive officers of real estate companies to excel in the business, describing the statement as false and misleading. Ms Splendour had made the outrageous claim in a now trending video of a podcast. The Acting Chairman of the chapter, Mr. Martin Nwafor, said the allegations are false and a sabotage of the efforts to turn the real estate sector in the state into a multi-billion dollar industry and cast aspersions on the honest work of hundred of members of the association in the state. According to Mr. Nwafor, the allegations are costly and will not swept under the carpet, stating categorically that the said Chinwe Splendour is not a registered realtor in the state.

* The Strengthening Public Accountability for Results and Knowledge, (SPARK 2) Implementation Team in Anambra State has appealed to the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget to ensure timely and unhindered release of funds budgeted for primary health care, to further boost maternal and child health in the area. The team which made the appeal during a visit to the Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Hon. Chiamaka Nnake, as part of SPARK 2 project implementation, argued that early release of budgeted funds will further boost health care delivery in the state. The IBP SPARK COMEN Consultant, Ugochi Ehiahuruike, told the commissioner that the visit was to seek partnership for the project especially in the area of budgeting and releases.

* The Government of Anambra State has directed the immediate commencement of work at the site of the destroyed primary school in Alah na Onugwa, in Olumbanasaa, Anambra West Local Government Area. The Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, issued the directive on behalf of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, during her recent visit to Igbedor. Chuma-Udeh stated that Governor Soludo’s commitment to human capital development was to ensure peaceful co-existence. She promised that the school must commence academic activities in September this year.

* The convener of Women Initiative for Greater Anambra, WIGA, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has urged market women to embrace and make clean environment a permanent habit that goes beyond occasions and festivities. Hon. Obi said, personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness should become permanent features of daily living beyond occasions and festivities. While commending Anambra First Lady, Mrs Nonye Soludo for her commitment towards achieving a livable homeland, she implored market women to shun waste disposal at road medians, and unauthorized locations.
