* The Transition Committee Chairman for Anaocha Local Government Area, Chief Ikechukwu Ozor, has thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for making agriculture one of the major instruments to boost the economy of the state, recalling that in the past, it was around agriculture that the economy of Nigeria was built on before the emergence of crude oil, advising people to change their narratives about agriculture.

* The member representing Ogbaru two constituency at the Anambra state house of assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has emerge as the speaker while the member representing Awka south 2 constituency Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye emerged as the deputy Speaker after a voice note Monday 12th June 2023.

* The newly elected College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) Chairman for Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN) chapter, Donatus Nwabunze has appealed to Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State to turn the college into a full-fledged University of Education. Nwabunze, who emerged winner with 93 votes above Dr Scholastica Nwankwo and Dr. Peter Ikokwu who polled 63 and 41 votes respectively, made the appeal to the Anambra State Government during his post election speech at the NOCEN mini-auditorium, Nsugbe, Anambra East Local Government Area, Anambra State.

* Anambra State Joint Enforcement Taskforce On Development Control Across the State has embarked on demolition of illegal structures in Idemili North and South Local Government Areas. The development control became imperative due to violation of the state building codes and regulations as well as assault on government officials by some developers. The enforcement team which comprised officials of Anambra State Physical Planning Board, and security operatives, among others warned that the state government will not relent in going after defaulting developers across the state.

* The Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency in collaboration with the State Ministry of Health and Partners has announced the commencement of revaccination for measles in low performing wards, regular insulin intensification and African Vaccination Week. According to the release signed by the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Pharmacist Chisom Uchem, some children were not captured in last campaign exercise held in the state during November/Dec, 2022.

* Environmental health and medical specialists from Italy have assured their readiness to partner Anambra state government in repositioning the health sector and bring solution to ailments confronting people in this part of the world, especially as it concerns cancer. The team made this known in Awka, through the leader of the team, Architect Manlio Amato who spoke through Professor Stefano Valabrega, explained that apart from turning waste into wealth, they are prepared to contribute in the improvement of the health sector of the state if the state government will consent to their proposal, saying that they will swing into action once the government indicates interest in the partnership.

* People of Anaocha Local Government Area have poured encomium on Governor Chukwuma Soludo on the massive palm and coconut seedlings cultivation initiative, describing the gesture as a move towards economic emancipation of people of the state. Governor Soludo received the commendations shortly after the flag-off of the initiative at Anaocha Local Government Headquarters in Neni.

* The Executive Director Operations, Anambra Internal Revenue Service, Dr Christian Madubuko has warned against breaking of court order seal as it attracts heavy wraths of the law. Madubuko stated this shortly after he led his team to a task drive in Onitsha where he sealed some business areas and parks which included Ifesinachi and The Young Park. Dr Madubuko frowned at some people who derive joy being chased to perform their civic responsibilities stating that the new Anambra can only be achieved through taxes paid which can be used for development.

* Anambra State government has warned its officials against engaging in fake land and building approvals. A release signed by the Commissioner for Information Mr Paul Nwosu said this has become necessary in view of illegal encroachments on lands including government-owned ones and other land transactions that have been facilitated with papers featured by government officials. The release said to demonstrate its determination to sanitize the system, the government is ready to bring to book retired civil servants and political appointees implicated in some of these unwholesome transactions.
