* Anambra state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has called on the state’s residents to participate actively in the task of actualizing a green, clean and sustainable Anambra state. Deputy Governor Ibezim made the call during the official flag-off of the “All Anambra Communities Plastic Recovery Challenge”, in Awka recently, an event marking this year’s world environment day in the state. The “All Anambra Communities Plastic Recovery Challenge” is an initiative of the state government aimed at ensuring a clean and healthy environment for Ndi Anambra.

* The member representing Nnewi North constituency at the Anambra state house of assembly Hon. Augustine Onyekachukwu Ikedoji says he will push for the creation of Nnewi North Urban Authority, which will serve as a driving force for development in the state. Ikedoji during his inaugural speech maintained that he will also fight for the common interests of everyone including those who did not vote nor support him.

* The purported rift between two chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Anambra Chapter, has been denied by the party. Some news outlets had reported that the immediate past governorship candidate of the APC in the 2021 Anambra Governorship Election, Senator Andy Uba, and the former National Auditor of the party and Director General of Igwebuike Campaign Organization, Chief Sir Paul Chukwuma, had fallen apart. But debunking the stories in a press statement made available to newsmen and signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Dr. Val. Iyke Oliobi, the party said there was no such falling apart between the two stakeholders of the party in Anambra State

* Anambra State Government through the Office of Hon Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs Hon Tonycollins Nwabunwanne invited the 8 villages chairmen and stakeholders of Amorka Community in Ihiala LGA for a progressive meeting ahead of their town Union Election.
Amorka as a Community on the August 3rd 2019 during their National Convention agreed to change their name from “Amorka Improvement Union” to “Amorka United Union” which has already been approved by the State Government.

* Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy Congregation has celebrated a Thanksgiving Mass of the final profession of Reverend Sr. Mary Theresa Chiamaka Onukwube at her home parish, St Gabriel’s Parish, Okpuno, in Anambra state. The Holy Mass of Thanksgiving which took place on Holy Trinity Sunday, was presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev Fr Emmanuel Ofomata. In his homily, he urged the faithful to be united as one in love like the three persons in one God.

* Residents of Awka, Anambra State  have lamented over the poor planning of the state capital by Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA). The authority is vested with power to  design a befitting  template for the state capital  and also enforce the development control. The lamentations is not just the poor planing but on the blocking of water ways and drainages system in the state. Due to the blockages of water ways and channels,  Enyi Agu River flood diaster that nearly consume the State capital during Peter Obi as a governor has resurfaced and creating more hardship.

* Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Nnobi, Idemili South Council Area has adjourned the case between the State Commissioner of Police and one Chief Chijioke Okaa to Friday June Sixteen for further mentioning. The adjournment was due to absence of the defendant in the court. Chief Okaa was to be arraigned before the court on a five count charge including attempt to commit felony by inducing one Miss Victoria Mbachu to make a title document of a land in his favour with intent to fraudulently covert the property to his own.

* Member representing Aguata one constituency at the 8th Anambra state house of assembly, Hon. Anayo Emmanuel Okpalaeke says he will be an impactive and responsive legislator.
Okpalaeke while speaking to newsmen after the innuguration of the 8th assembly, assured his constituents of quality representation. The lawmaker also commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his impact in the lifes of ndi Anambra

* An industrialist and Chief Executive Officer, Wisdom Pack Anambra Rice Processing Company Limited, Edwin Ejike Erebe, has appealed to the Federal Government to put the nation’s refineries in order before embarking on full implementation of fuel subsidy removal to avoid total collapse of industries in the country.
The Anambra based industrialist, who made the appeal while having a chat with the press in Awka last Wednesday, suggested that the fuel subsidy removal policy should be targeted at fixing the refineries to make the overbearing effect of the policy on the people and industries momentary.
