* Ex-tennis star’s Ms.Tania Okpala, has been appointed as a Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Works under the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Anambra State. The announcement was made by the wife of the governor of Anambra State Mrs. Nonye Soludo, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia. Addressing journalists, the governor’s wife said that Tania’s appointment would give her the opportunity to use her story to redefine the world around her and bring valuable impact to the lives of young people, especially women and children. Mrs. Soludo said Tania’s recovery was fully taken care of by the state government, describing her survival as a miraculous story that would be used to inspire humanity.

* Grassroots Football and Gymnastics coach based in Awka, Anambra Mr. Benson Udeh has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Nigerians to come to his aid. Coach Udeh who spoke to Journalists from his bed of confinement said experts who managed him had assured, he was hopeful and walking again if he was able to access the necessary medical care. Udeh was involved in a road crash and sustained spinal injury in June 2016 on his way to the finals of the maiden Willie Obiano Academicals Football Competition at the Rojenny Stadium, Oba, near Onitsha. He was leading his team, Community Secondary School, Aguluezechukwu Community Secondary School, Isuanocha, when their vehicle crashed at Oba-Nnewi road.

* The South East Woman Leader of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Obidike has lauded Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo for his commitment to the progress of women in the state. Mrs Obidike made this statement while commending the Governor on the commissioning of “Solution Arena” in Awka. The Woman Leader while appreciating Soludo, said the shops would enable women secure their fruits and vegetables especially from hash weather thereby translating to more money in their pockets.

* The inauguration and orientation on e- membership registration aims to rekindle the spirit of APGA members across the 21 local government areas in Anambra State, starting at Ayamelum Local Government area. Addressing the local government, Coordinator Hon. Paul Ikegunam expressed his satisfaction with the administration of the APGA Apostles Forum in the state. He also commended His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for his significant contributions to the state’s development.
Chief Nchekwube Tony Dunga, the national convener of the APGA Apostles Forum, highlighted the critical role Ayamelum plays in APGA, describing it as an APGA stronghold. He emphasized the forum’s programs aimed at benefiting the masses, particularly in agricultural empowerment, a priority for the Governor.

* The honorable member representing Idemili North and South federal constituency, Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, has taken action to bring hope to Nigerians and his constituents who may be affected by the recent developments surrounding the Heritage Bank crisis. Hon. Okonkwo, deeply concerned about the welfare of his constituents and Nigerians, moved a motion on the “Urgent Need to Investigate the Heritage Bank Crisis and Protect Depositors’ Interest.”

* The local organizing committee of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University’s Faculty of Physical Sciences, led by Prof. Kingsley Nwozor, paid a courtesy visit to the first lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo. Prof. Nwozor in his address reiterated his efforts in promoting modern technology in the state and praised the partnership with the Solution Innovation District, which he believes has changed the game. He also praised the appointment of Chinwe Okoli as the Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation, describing her as energetic and deserving of the role.

* The Sector Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Anambra State, Mr. Oyishi Ogbonna says training, not drugs, is the key to success in sportsa. Ogbonna while speaking to the Anambra State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in his office in Awka, issued a stern warning against the use of hard drugs in sports and other professions.
Ogbonna highlighted the detrimental effects of substance abuse, which can not only ruin careers but also lead to severe consequences such as disqualification or bans in competitive sports.

* Chairman of the Onitsha Main Market,

* Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has responded to Flavour Nabania’s recent statement regarding his decision to hold his father’s burial in Enugu due to insecurity in his hometown, Umunze, Orumba South LGA, Anambra State. In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategic Communications, Hon. Kamen Chuks Ogbonna, Sen. Ubah stated that he would have secured Orumba and the entire Anambra South senatorial district if the state government had not stopped his security initiative, despite its success in the Nnewi Pilot programme. Ubah expressed his understanding of Flavour Nabania’s concerns about security in the state, particularly in his hometown.

* A suspected child trafficker has been apprehended few days after allegedly conniving with a man to steal a one year old baby from her mother. Aged 24, the suspect, identified as Princess Willie, from Akwa Ibom State was said to have connived with her male accomplice, simply identified as Onyeka, who reportedly charmed and lured a 20-year-old mother from Enugu State down to Anambra, where they robbed her of her new baby recently. However, a few days after an intensive search, the suspected trafficker was sighted and recognized by a Hotel Manager, Mr. Kingsley Okeke, who is aware of the case, who then apprehended her and raised an alarm, before she was crowded.
