# Police Operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad RRS Awkuzu, acting on credible information arrested Mr. Maduka aged 40 years at Fegge, Onitsha, a suspected dealer of vandalized items and equipment.
According to SP. Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the team also recovered bags of vandalized copper wires, large quantities of high tension wires, copper coil and other transformer equipment.
The Operatives are expanding the investigation following the suspect’s confession of where they sell the items in Ogun and Lagos States.
# The member representing Awka South two Constituency Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye has welcomed no fewer than seventy (70) members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress, (APC) and the Labour Party (LP) into the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), across Amawbia wards one, two and three.
The event which took place at the residence of Okoye, who is the Deputy Speaker of Anambra Assembly, in Amawbia, Awka south council area, attracted party faithful in the community and beyond as the party begins mobilization for the November 8 guber election in the state.
Decorating the decampees with party uniforms, Anambra state APGA chairman, Barr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye expressed happiness over their interest to join APGA which best reflects and propagates the hope and aspirations of Ndi Igbo and assured them that he will ensure they have all benefits as full-fledged party members accrue to them.
Responding, one of the decampees and former ward chairman of Labour party, Mr. Onyeka Menuba said other parties have failed Ndi Anambra, and the time has come for Soludo to change gear to reposition the state to the world.
# Police Operatives attached to the 33 Police Station acting on an intelligence-driven investigation, arrested Mr. Divine Ifeanyi Nnalue at Ugbeji – Okpanam very close to Asaba in Delta State.
The suspect is a domestic worker who allegedly stole a black Toyota Camry with Reg No: ENU 289 JF belonging to his employer at Trinity Avenue, Federal Housing in 33.
During the interrogation, the suspect confessed to having sold the car to an unidentified person.
Given the revelations of the suspect, the Operatives are working on the information for possible recovery of the vehicle and arrest of the other persons involved in the criminal act.
# A police officer has been k!lled while his young son was injured after his 10-year-old shot them both in Anambra.
The officer identified as Inspector Okolie Amechi was f@tally shot by his 10-year-old son in an accidental discharge incident while on duty at a bank in Awka, Anambra State.
The incident occurred on Sunday while the officer was on duty at Polaris Bank, located along Zik Avenue by Okeke Street in Awka, and his sons paid him a visit at work.
The 10-year-old son, identified as Dominion Vincent, was playing with the weapon and had no idea it was loaded when he pulled the trigger from behind his father and f@tally hit him in the spine.
The bullet also struck his youngest brother, Emmanuel, aged 6, who sustained gunshot injuries to his back and right hand.
# Barr. Ezeokenwa Sly Jr, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), attended a church service at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oko, Anambra State.
He was accompanied by other political officeholders and party members, at the
church service in Oko which served as a platform for the party to seek divine guidance, and reinforce their dedication to public service.

# The Commissioner for Special Duties in Anambra State Rt. Hon. Beverley Nkemdiche Ikpeazu has admonished lawmakers in the 8th legislature to pay particular attention to their respective constituencies and not abandon them.
Ikpeazu who gave the admonition in Awka said the need for the legislators to pay particular attention to their constituencies can not be overemphasized because they were the ones who sent them to represent them at the state assembly.
Ikpeazu who was a 3-time member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, maintained that the lawmakers’ representations shouldn’t be an Awka affair but they should go back to their various constituencies to find out what they need and address them because that was the secret that kept her in the legislature where she represented Onitsha-South 2 state constituency for 12 years.
# The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma has promised to prioritise the restoration of law and order across all parts of Anambra State currently experiencing seemingly unsolvable insecurity challenges.
Chukwuma stated that he will tackle insecurity as part of efforts to boost business activities especially the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises – MSMEs, that drive Anambra’s economy.
The governorship candidate made this promise on Sunday when he was hosted by the founder of Mega Abbattoir and Suya Spot located at the heart of Enugwu-Ukwu town, Chief Michael Onyeka Obidi.
Chukwuma, who was highly impressed by the entrepreneurial resilience of Chief Obidi noted that it was remarkable that despite the harsh business environment in the state, Mega Abbattoir is thriving.
# Anambra State Police Command has expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident that resulted in the death of Inspector Okolie Amechi in Awka.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday evening, was allegedly due to an accidental discharge by his 10-year-old son.
The son unaware of the state of the AK 47 rifle assigned to the Inspector, pulled the trigger and struck the Inspector on the back and his second child on the hand.
# A community leader in Adazi-Ani, Anaocha LGA, Chief Cyril Bobisco Okoye has called on ndi Anambra to always work together for the development of the state, saying that he will continue to support the progressive and people-oriented programmes of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
