* The National Convener of Soludo Support Group (SSG), Mr.Chinedu Nwoye has inaugurated the Soludo Support Group of New Auto Spare Parts Market, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State. During the inauguration, Nwoye described Soludo as father of ecumenism, adding that dichotomy is not in his dictionary for he takes all churches as one before God which prompted him to work for man and God.
* The member representing Njikoka one constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon. Chidiebere Ibemeka says his first year in office as a lawmaker has been impactful. Speaking in an interview the Ibemeka revealed that he is
currently running a program of giving out free health insurance services to 1,000 persons in his constituents which will consist of hundred persons per ward. Registration has commenced”. He said.
* Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has donated gifts to children at the Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home, Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area. Mrs. Soludo donated food items and cash to the home, where she had visited in similar measures just three months ago.

Dr. Afam Obidike, who led the Health Living with Nonye Soludo’s team explained that the visit was to show her support to the children, explained that beyond the annual occasion, people with sickle cell deserve to always be cared for and celebrated. Dr. Obidike noted that the state government is keen on opening up special opportunities for people with special needs to achieve their dreams without any impediments.
* Police led Joint Security Force has intercepted four suspected ESN Militia in Ufuma, Orumba North, Anambra State. According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the arrest is following information received over time of planned attacks on security agents and innocent citizens by the dreaded group. Among the four suspects arrested is one Maduabuchi Nwafor A K A Omenkpo ‘M’ aged 32 years a native of Ufuma. He has been identified as one of the native doctors who prepares criminal charms for the group and uses his shrine for initiation ceremonies and meeting points for the criminals.
* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze says the Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo has sustained the integrity and leading religious roles which the diocese on the Niger conveys as the oldest diocese in Nigeria. Felicitating the Anglican Prelate on his birthday, on behalf of the State Legislature, Udeze described the Bishop as a true man of God whose sound religious background has impacted positively on his episcopate. The Speaker who recollected Bishop Nwokolo’s outstanding experience in church administration and evangelism, extolled him for measuring up with the status, integrity and standard of Bishops Emeritus of the diocese on the Niger, evident in his numerous accomplishments.
* Mr. Francis Ezenwa has been inaugurated as the ninth Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Awka District Society.
Ezenwa, a graduate of Accounting from the University of Benin was elected alongside 13 other executive members. In his inaugural speech, Ezenwa promised to prioritise welfare and capacity enhancement of members. He said the body in his leadership would entrench the culture of accounting by sponsoring prizes for students who did well in basic financial accounting in select schools in the state
* Muslim delegation led by Alhaji Sani Onyeabo Ejoh on has paid a Sallah homage to Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. Alhaji Onyeabo Ejoh who is the vice president General/chairman, Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Anambra State, while expressing the delegation’s gratitude for the warm reception accorded them, told Soludo that they were at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia to pay the usual traditional Sallah homage as the father and leader of the state.
He congratulated Soludo on his recent award by Champion Newspapers as the Governor of the year on Infrastructure and rural development, as well as his recognition by the Leadership Score Card magazine as the Best Governor of the year in the Growth and Development of Democracy in Nigeria, 2023.
* The Special Marshals in Awka units, an arm of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC in Anambra State have enlightened the drivers of Star Sunny Motors Park at Arroma Junction, Awka, and road users on the essence of adhering to signs while driving. The Assistant Route Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Secor Command, Mr Charles Iyiegbuniwe while addressing the drivers and other road users who participated in the programme, explained that the essence of the enlightenment campaign was to make road users familiar with road signs and warnings in order to prevent crashes on the roads.
Iyiegbuniwe urged motorists to always display good road attitude and other safety measures any time they are on the road to forestall accidents and make the roads safe for all.
* The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, has expressed displeasure over the N62,000 Minimum Wage offer by the Federal Government of Nigeria, stating that even N100, 000 is not even enough to meet the basic needs of Nigerian workers. Ezeokafor who stated this in an interview, noted that he was not happy with what he described as the back and forth debate between the FG and the organized labour, saying that the debate had started looking like something that could never be resolved. The Prelate expressed worry about the situation of things and insisted that the cost of governance should be drastically reduced, wondering why Nigerian workers should be the least paid in the world.
* Niger Provincal bishops has visited the centenary building of Dennis Memorial Grammar School, DMGS, Onitsha that collapsed last week. The Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Rev. Alex Ibezim who led the visit, encouraged the Bishop on the Niger, Rt Rev. Owen Nwokolo not to be discouraged by the incident. Archbishop Ibezim while speaking during the visit said the collapse is a big temptation that can happen anywhere. The Prelate described Dennis Memorial Grammar School, DMGS, Onitsha as the pride of the Anglican Church, calling on all the old boys whom he said are at the frontiers of nation building to come back and show that they can do greater things, just as he called on government to carry them along in the cause of the investigation as the church needs protection, dignity and respect.
