* The Anambra State Local Government Service Commission in its quest to further improve productivity and service delivery has taken steps to introduce Servicom Desk Officers in the Unified 21 Local Government areas of Anambra State. The Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Barrister, Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka, while addressing the management and principal officers in the Commission Chamber stated that the decision is to creat the culture of responsibility and accountability in local government service delivery with the ultimate goal of enhancing staff performance for improved productivity.

* National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Anambra State Commander, Mr. Onyishi Daniel Ogbonna, said between February and June, 2023 when he assume office, Anambra has witnessed a tremedious reduction in drug abuse and illicit trafficking related activities. Ogbonna while speaking during the 2023 World Drug Day celebration with the Theme; people First: Stop Stigma And Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention held at the Nnemdi Azikiwe University auditorium, Awka, noted that within the stated period, the Command has seize a total of 833kg of different drugs, successfully rehabilitated 25 drug addicts back to the society and 25 others are also currently undergoing rehabilitation classes at the agency rehabilitation centre in Onitsha.

* The former Chief Whip of Anambra state house of assembly Rt. Hon. Lawrence Ezeudu said his greatest achievement as a lawmaker is making rotation representation, a convention in Dunukofia and that every community is being giving chance to represent. Ezeudu who represented Dunukofia constituency at the 6th and 7th Anambra assembly while speaking with reporters at his residence in Ifitedunu, revealed that he made sure all the six communities are represented.

* The President National council for Women societies, Anambra State chapter, Lady Theresa Nnalue has advocated stiffer penalties against those using under aged girls for sex slavery.
Speaking in Awka on the incessant cases where young girls are being lured into prostitution by those who claim to offer them employment and help them to come out of poverty, the President of the National council of Women societies in Anambra State described it as a dangerous trend capable of marring the future of such young girls. Lady Theresa Nnalue commended the Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs, and Social Welfare Mrs Ify Obinabo for all her efforts towards securing a bright future for the women folk especially as it concerns widows that are being maltreated by the family members of their deceased husbands.

* The gully erosion ravaging Onitsha Inland in Anambra State which started in 2019 has destroyed over thirty buildings, rendering about 20,000 people homeless in last three years. To this end, the people of the affected community have called on the State Governor, Charles Soludo to rescue them from the ecological disaster. The erosion site at Obeleagu Street and Nkisi-Aroli Street in Onitsha Inland town has caused alarming panic among the inhabitants of the community since 2020 when it became fully blown.

* The Executive Governor of Anambra State Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has described the School Sports Festival as the beginning of a new era for sports development in the state. Soludo who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim at the grand finale recently emphasized the essence of sports as a tool for conviviality, career development and engaging Ndi Anambra youths meaningfully.

* Operations Unit of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, AIRS has paraded suspects who impersonate Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra OCHA Brigade personnel at Onitsha.
The suspects were apprehended at Onitsha Main Market and Obosi when the enforcement team of the unit went for operation show your receipt revenue drive led by the Executive Director Operations, Dr Christian Madubuko.

According to report, the men were extorting Ndi Anambra and exposing motorists to hardships as they print all manner of receipts to confuse people.

* A group of Anambra citizens under the auspices of Anambra Demand Soludo (ADS) has commended Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his community development strides, saying that the governor is meeting the expectations of the people. The commendations which came in torrents during the group’s reunion meeting held in Awka, were evidence of eloquent testimonies of what the governor is doing in their respective communities. ADS which is now championing Consolidation and Continuity, jointly passed a vote of confidence on the governor, saying that with the current trajectory of massive infrastructural development across the state, there was need to support Governor Soludo in his mission to enthrone a liveable, lovable and prosperous state for the citizenry.
