* Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Anambra State, has emerged 31st best university in Sub-Saharan Africa. Covenant University emerged in the 7th position in Sub-Saharan Africa and the No. 1 in Nigeria. This was contained a statement by the National Universities Commission( NUC). * Anambra State Government through the state ICT Agency, is set to hold the inaugural hybrid edition of Anambra State ICT Policy Stakeholders’ Engagement Workshop. The workshop aims to assemble key stakeholders from diverse fields to share from their wealth of experience, knowledge and ideas, towards the development and subsequent validation of the state ICT Policy framework.
* Police operatives from Ogidi Division, Anambra State have arrested the Ojoto community vigilante commander and two others for the kidnap and murder of a tricycle operator, Christian Oluchukwu Onah. Onah, a 25 year old tricycle rider from Ovoko community, Igbo-Eze South LGA, Enugu State but residing in Oba, Idemili South LGA, Anambra State was declared missing on 28th May, 2023 when he failed to return after going out for the day’s business of tricycle riding transportation.
* The President, Mothers Union, Women’s Guild and Girls Guild, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Mrs. Martha Ibezim, says that the nation has come to its lowest point in history with enormous challenges facing its economy, security, and unity. Mrs. Ibezim, who is also the President, Mothers Union, Women’s Guild, Girls Guild and Young Mothers Association, Diocese of Awka, stated this while delivering her Presidential address at the thirty-seventh Awka Diocesan Women’s Conference and second Women’s Guild Conference going on at Saint Stephen’s Church Ifitedunu, Dunukofia Council Area.
* The Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye has commended Anambra State Police Command for rescuing eight under-age girls being used as sex slaves at a brothel at Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area. Speaking with journalists in Awka, Okoye, who is also the member representing Awka South Two Constituency, condemned the act vehemently and frowned at persons who take advantage of vulnerable individuals to make money. He warned them to desist from such inhuman acts, as Anambra State Government has zero tolerance for such, and will always punish perpetrators of such barbaric acts.
* The Director General, National Orientation Agency Dr. Garba Abari, has described the National Core Values as very imperative in raising the Nigerian Students at all levels to becoming responsible, productive and good ambassadors of their father land. Abari while speaking at a One Day Programme organized by the Agency on National core values for Nigerian Students, held in the Corporate Headquarters of the NOA in Awka, said that the event was of great value to Nigerian government
* The Anambra State Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism is to partner with the organizers of Anambra Fashion Expo, AFE, 2023 to organize second edition of the event by October this year. The agreement was reached when the organizers of the event led by Mazi Ejimofor paid Commissioner Onyenji a visit in his office in Awka. The Commissioner while welcoming the team, commended their efforts towards the success of last year’s Anambra Fashion Expo and noted that their partnership for this year’s event would help make it a mega event.
* Re-elected lawmaker representing Ogbaru 1 state constituency in the 8th legislature of Anambra State, Hon. Noble Chukwunonso Igwe has stated without equivocation that the entire Ogbaru local government area has taken a unanimous decision to work and deliver Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in 2025. Igwe who could not contain his joy of the Speakership position of the 8th assembly that was bestoned on Ogbaru said Soludo will be surpported.
* Anambra State government has assured the Adorable Foundation international of working in collaboration to ensure improved social economic and cultural livelihood of a common man.
