* Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has tasked Communities to join hands with the government in erosion preventive measures. ANN reports that Soludo made the call when he hosted a town hall meeting on erosion control and management tagged; “Delivering the Solution Mandate in Erosion Control” held at Oko Civic Centre with stakeholders from five communities in the state, largely affected by gully erosion.
* The Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Vera Nwadinobi has emphasized the need to build valuable human resource which she said is the greatest assets of the state through technology and skill driven basic education. Nwadinobi stated this during a media chat at the ASUBEB headquarters, Awka.
*The Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Charles Esimone FAS, will chair the 3rd edition of Anambra Man of the Year Award . This was made known during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor by the award planning committee, led by Engr Dr. Stephen Ufoaroh, ASUU Chairman, UNIZIK Chapter. In a letter presented to the Vice Chancellor, the group stated that the reason they reached out to the Vice-Chancellor to chair the important event was because of his integrity , the respect people have for him and the love he has for the state .
* Anambra state government recently unveiled the Solution e-ID card for civil servants, appointees, and other categories of State employees. The e-ID card policy is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s effort to promote e-governance and strengthen identity management in the state by enabling government and citizens alike to easily identify government employees. It will successfully address the issue of a standardized and secure method for issuing and confirming ID cards and their holders.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon.(Mrs) Amaka Obi has commended Anambra State Government ably led by Governor Charles Soludo for hosting town hall meeting on erosion control, stating that erosion is a priority in agriculture, construction and conservation industries as well as in the land development applications.
* A staff of Akuu Hotel in Abagana has explained to an Anambra State High Court sitting in Awka how an undergraduate student of University of Benin, UNIBEN, Miss Chinenye Promise Nwoye, was found dead and dumped inside a toilet in one of the hotel rooms. The member of staff of the hotel (name withheld) who is prosecution witness in the murder case informed the court that room 57 of the hotel, which the defendant, Kingsley Ogbonnaya booked, was where the deceased was found; with hands, legs and mouth tied with pieces of torn cloth.
* The National Coordinator of All Progressives Grand Alliance Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has commended the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, for assisting in overseeing a peaceful National Convention of the party. He said Soludo has truly demonstrated that he is a competent national leader of the party.
* The senator representing Anambra Central district Sen. Uche Ekwunife says she is in support of the decision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in removing subsidy. Ekwunife while answering questions from reporters on Saturday June 3 2023 after a town hall meeting with Anambra Central stakeholders in Awka, called for the increament of minimum wage.
* Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has kicked off plans to set up healthy living clubs in secondary schools and tertiary institutions in the state. The Anambra first lady who stated this in Awka, explained that the essence of having the clubs in schools is to drive her healthy living campaign down to a level where teenagers will be able to assimilate the principles of living right and keeping tabs on the world around them.
* The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, Anambra State, Mr Tony Olofu has assured communities in the state of the unflinching support of the zone. The AIG gave the assurance when he paid a courtesy visit to the Traditional Ruler of Ukpo, Igwe Dr. Robert Eze recently.
