* The people of Umuona in Aguata local government area have extolled the giant strides of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in Anambra State especially in road infrastructure which they say will go a long way in facilitating the growth of businesses and open up the hinterlands across the state. Umuona community through their traditional ruler Igwe Sunday Ezeofor and President-General Chief Ken Okoli described Professor Chukwuma Soludo as a Governor who has the interest of Ndi Anambra at heart. They said that all the Interventions of Governor Soludo in Key sectors of the economy including Education, Agriculture, Human capital development amongst others are pointers that he is prepared to govern Anambra State and called on the people to continue with their support and prayers to his administration.

* The Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka has inspected the ongoing Construction of Nnewi Water Scheme and expressed satisfaction with the level of work so far, as he reaffirmed Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to the sustainable development of Anambra State. The Commissioner re-emphasized the significance of the Nnewi Water Scheme, as a critical step towards fulfilling the Governor’s campaign promises to Ndị Anambra. Chukwuemeka maintained that the project exemplified the current administration’s dedication to improving essential infrastructure for the citizens as well as the residents of the state.

* Washington Memorial Grammar School Onitsha have emerged champions of the Male and Female Volleyball event of the ongoing State Finals of the Anambra School Sports Festival. Washington showcased their supremacy by seeing off Bubendorf Memorial Grammar School Adazi-Nnukwu in both the Male Under-14 and Under-18 categories grand finale while also seeing off seeing off Cor Maria Secondary School Nkpor and Rosa Mystica College Agulu in the Female Under-14 and Under-18 categories respectively to claim the gold medals.
Nnewi High School settled for the bronze medal in the Volleyball Male Under-14 same with Don Bosco Secondary School Obosi who finished as second runners-up in the male Under-18 category. Christ Secondary School Osumenyi came third in the Female Under-14 while St. Kizito Secondary School Umudioka also finished third to earn a podium finish for the Under-18 female category.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Felix Odimegwu has called on the residents of the state to embrace sustainable environmental practices, show stewardship and live in harmony with nature. Odimegwu made the call while speaking in Awka. He said Anambra State is launching the Anambra Tree Planting Day on June 10th. Key locations will see the planting of two trees per house/building. Recently, the Federal Government planted 3,000 oil palms over 5 hectares of erosion-prone sites in Nibo Awka.

* Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Information has visited the head office of the Anambra State Signage And Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) for oversight legislation. The Chairman of the Committee Hon. Frederick Ezenwa who led members on the visit said they were on a familiarisation visit to ANSAA office for an oversight function of the House as empowered by the law. Hon. Ezenwa who represents Onitsha South one constituency stated that the aim of the visit was to re-introduce members of the committee to the agency due to a slight changes made in the by the Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze.

* Stakeholders at a one-day programme in Awka have called for more awareness creation on clubfoot deformity to enable couples who have such children to come for treatment. Speaking during the event, the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, noted that clubfoot is one of the neglected diseases that confront humanity. The Commissioner said that the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs.

Nonye Soludo is passionate about children with clubfoot and that she is ready to partner the organisers of the event for an increased awareness creation and treatment, asking those working in the Primary Healthcare Centres across the state to identify any child with clubfoot for treatment.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed commitment to recreating and rebuilding the sports economy in Anambra state. Soludo in his speech at the second edition of the Anambra Sport Solution Initiative finals held at the Awka City Stadium, Awka, revealed that the sports economy has the potential to increase the state GDP, among other benefits, commended all participants and winners at the various featured games.
According to the Governor, the competition is an important beginning, mainstreaming completion at the school, inter-school, local government and state levels, expressing optimism that talents were identified to appear at both national and international spaces.

* The Youth Wing of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide has thrown its weight behind the National Assembly for allowing the bill for an Act to ban open grazing and establish ranches scale second reading.
The Acting National youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Mr Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu while speaking to newsmen on the development,
commended the Senate for ensuring that the bill scaled second reading, describing the debate that ensued at the floor of the Senate, as the characteristics of democracy, where people are allowed to air their opinions. Okpalaezeukwu describing farmers/herder’s clashes as a recurring decimal that has taken so many lives, destroyed property, and affected the Nigerian economy.

* Justice Saleh M. Shuaibu of the Federal High Court Awka has cautioned lawyers against filing of similar cases in different courts. Justice Shuaibu while addressing a counsel, who appeared over a case of fundamental human rights of his client
noted that filing similar cases in different courts lead to conflicting judgements that ridicule the court. Shuaibu wondered why the parties were before him when the subject matter of the litigation, a bench warrant order made by a lower court against the applicant, had been vacated by the same lower court.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has reassured that potable water must get to every nook and cranny of the State, in furtherance of his administration’s strides to ensure that no part of Anambra State is left without access to clean and reliable water. The Governor, speaking through the State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Hon. Julius Chukwuemeka, gave the reassurance while handing over a newly-resuscitated and refurbished solar-powered borehole to the Management and the pupils of the Rev. Anyaegbunam Primary School, Onitsha, and Nworah Umunna Memorial Primary School, Onitsha, both in Onitsha North Local Government Area of the State. Commissioner Chukwuemeka, represented by the Team Leader from the Ministry, covering Anambra North Senatorial District, Mr. Okechukwu Onyedibe, also explained that the project was part of the steps towards actualizing the vision of the Soludo Administration to make Anambra a livable and prosperous homeland, adding that the project is durable, eco-friendly, and costless to manage, due to its use of solar as the power source, as against the old fashion of diesel-powered generator.
