* Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has inspected the Gully Erosion Control works embarked upon by his administration in Amannalu junction erosion site, Ebenator, Nnewi South Local Council. Speaking shortly after inspecting progress of work done so far on the project, Governor Soludo expressed satisfaction with the level of work.

* The TC Chairman of Anaocha LGA, Hon Gerald Ikechukwu Ozoh (Mmili) has urged party leaders, candidates and stakeholders to consolidate on the prevailing unity of the party to achieve victory in 2023 Anambra State House of Assembly elections. He gave the charge when he hosted the candidates of APGA in Anaocha LGA  for the House of Assembly as well as stakeholders and party Chairmen of all the wards in Anaocha LGA at his office at Neni to further solidify the harmony in the party to win the coming elections.

* The Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Anambra State Hon. Don Onyenji has lauded APGA house of representatives candidate Ike Cubana for gathering Idemili South executives and stakeholders to appreciate their hard work. Onyenji encouraged APGA faithfuls to make sure that the party triumph in their wards for the betterment of Anambra State. He further urged them to go back to the drawing boards in their various wards and ensure APGA victory in the fourth coming State assembly election

* The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Anambra state chapter has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Chukwuma Soludo and called on the people of Anambra to support his government. ANN reports that IPAC, a non partisan organisation made the call in a communique raised after its meeting in Awka. The communique which was signed by Chief Uche Ugwoji chairman of IPAC in the state said it had x-rayed the political barometer and came to the conclusion that Soludo had managed Anambra affairs satisfactorily.

* Fishermen and traders, participating in the 2023 edition of the Umuoba Anam Communal Fishing Festival, have lamented the unusually poor sales at this year’s event. They attributed this to glitches in the current naira currency redesign scheme by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. This, they say, has occasioned nationwide scarcity of cash for citizens leading to very low purchasing power among people who usually patronised the abundant fish harvest at the various fishing lakes in the area. ANN gathered that thousands of fishermen, drawn from various Umuoba Anam farming camps in the Anambra East and West local government areas of Anambra state, participated in the Mgbabo Oku, the annual fishing festival.

* The Transition Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon (Mrs) Amaka Obi (Iyom Idemili) says APGA have come to stay in Anambra State and there is no going back. Hon. Obi pleaded with party executives and stakeholders to carry everyone along and urged them to reach out to grassroots so that they will deliver APGA candidate in all the pooling units in Idemili South.

* The Anambra State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has implored Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo, to implement full minimum wage for the state’s workforce. The NLC state chairman, Comrade Chinwe Orizu, made the call during the 13th delegate conference of the NLC Anambra State Chapter held at the Teachers’ House, Awka, the state capital.

Orizu, while commending the governor for regular payment of workers in the state, implored him to implement full minimum wage for the state’s workforce.

* APGA candidate for Idemili North and South federal representative Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu (Onyechimelu’eze) widely known as Ike Cubana has hosted Idemili South Local Government Area Party Executives and Stakeholders at his palatial home, Oba, Anambra State. Addressing them, Ike Cubana urged them to continue to be steadfast and work very hard to deliver APGA candidate in their wards.

In his words, “APGA is our party and we don’t have any other party, it is the legacy of our late hero Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu. All hands should be on deck to ensure Apga victory. APGA have come to stay and it is our identity, so let’s work in unity and deliver our candidate, Barrister Ebuka”, Igwehe concluded.

* Prof Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra state, has said that the secure environment created by his government enabled the huge turnout of voters in the presidential election in the state. The governor spoke through his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, during an interactive session with journalists in Awka. Aburime said about eight local government areas in the state, which criminal elements had previously annexed, were freed by the Soludo government, giving voters the confidence to come out during the presidential election. 

* A chieftain of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in Nnewi, Nnewi North local government area of Anambra state, Chief Ibe Okonkwo Michael has said that every effort is being made to ensure that the party wins State Assembly seat for Nnewi North State Constituency. Speaking to newsmen in Nnewi Ibe who is the Obi of Umudara – Ogbuji – Umuezi, Obofia Nnewichi, congratulated Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah for his victory at the polls, and subsequent collection of his certificate of recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
