* Press Secretary to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, Mr. Christian Aburime, says the likes of Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Valentine Ozigbo and a host of other prospective aspirants for the 2025 Anambra governorship election will all pass vote of confidence on  Soludo because they know the governor is performing creditably well.

Aburime, who spoke in his office at the Government House Awka, said there was no gainsaying the fact that the governor had done tremendously well in all the sectors of the State economy.

* The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction and sentencing of 27 internet fraudsters before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court sitting in Awka, the Anambra State capital. This Development has sent most some people known as “yahoo boys” in the state into hiding.

* The much anticipated 2024 NEROS Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup draws has been made as 10 teams will size each other for the ultimate prize. The competition will kickoff on Thursday 14th of March 2024 with an opening match between BON FA and Young Africans at the Awka City stadium by 3pm. NEROS pharmaceutical is the longest running sponsor of state FA cup competition in Nigeria having sponsored Anambra FA Cup for nearly 20 years.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described mothers as veritable instruments for the propagation of God’s work. In his Goodwill Message to all Anglican Women in the State on the celebration of this year’s Mothering Sunday, Rt. Hon. Udeze expressed satisfaction that they have contributed immensely towards the development of their various churches through meaningful programmes and activities.

The Speaker enjoined the Anglican women to emulate the Biblical virtuous women like Esther, Mary and Martha as well as Dorcas and Ruth among others, adding that their genuine service to God and humanity will be rewarded accordingly.

* The Anambra State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

 has reunited a thirteen year old boy, Goodluck Onwe with his family following the command’s intervention. The little boy was seen wandering the streets of Abakaliki before he was rescued on the 4th of February, 2024 by operatives of NSCDC Ebonyi State Command.

According to a release by SC Okadigbo Edwin, NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Anambra state, investigation reveals that the said boy stays with a relative in Abakaliki but ran away from home with an intent to return to his parents who resides at Peter Okonkwo Street Aguleri, Anambra East LGA, Anambra State.

* The Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Maku Olatunde has honoured Francis Nnadi, Deputy Commandant in charge of Private Guards Companies Department ( PGC) along with nine personnel of the Corps  for exemplary conduct and outstanding performance for the month of February 2024. The officers who benefitted from the awards are, Deputy Commandant; Francis Nnadi,  Deputy Commandant;Kizitto Emaikwu, Deputy Commandant ;George Ike, Assistant Commandant; Ogunjiofor Alexander,  Assistant Commandant; Ewogu Chinedu, Chief Superintendent of Corps; Chinyere Anekwe,  Superintendent of Corps; Ikenna Nwokedi, Deputy Superintendent of Corps; Attah Emmanuel,  Deputy Superintendent of Corps; Florence Okoye and Assistant Superintendent of Corps; Nwaokoro Prince. Presenting the cash- backed awards to the awardees, at the weekend , the  NSCDC State Commandant said in keeping with his desire to bring out the best from officers and men, he instituted ” Monthly Best Performing Personnel Award”  to reward diligence and appreciate hard work.

* The National Coordinator of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has described the Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Basil Ejidike, as an election contractor who would at each electioneering period surface to grab as much as possible from aspirants.

Obigwe said this in a statement in reaction to a comment allegedly made at the Anambra APC Youth Summit that the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, would not be reelected next year. The APGA media chief accused Ejidike of organising the APC Youth Summit, stating that in 2021 governorship poll in the state the same Ejidike milked the governorship candidate of the APC to the bone marrow and led him astray.

* His Royal Highness, Igwe Gerald Obunadike Mbamalu of Ojoto kingdom in Idemili-South council area of Anambra State, has declared that antagonists and malignant elements are just peddling negative criticisms against Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for nothing.

Igwe Mbamalu, who made the aforementioned declarative statement while speaking exclusively with this reporter, said the governor is focused and has his eyes on the ball because he is determined to fulfill his electoral promises as well as deliver dividends of democracy to the people irrespective of tantrums of the negative minority.
