* Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA) has concluded its comprehensive state sensitization tour in Awka, marking a pivotal moment in the environmental consciousness. The grand finale event in Awka saw the participation of community leaders, government officials, and residents, all united under the banner of environmental stewardship. Participants eagerly absorbed the wealth of knowledge disseminated by ASWAMA experts, actively participating in discussions and demonstrations that underscored the significance of waste segregation, recycling, and environmental preservation.

* Police Officers attached to Anambra State Command while on patrol with the local vigilante in Awka-Etiti, Idemili South LGA, have smashed a deadly insurgency gang on a yet-to-be unravelled mission while heavily armed. The joint security team chased the hoodlums until the vehicle they were in ran into a ditch. After a shootout, two members of the gang were arrested while Four AK-47 Rifles were recovered. According to a release from DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, stated that also revovered were one Toyota Highlander SUV with Reg. No. Lagos GGE 408 GZ.

* Anambra State government has distributed 2,000 Laptops to Head Teachers, Principals of Public Schools and Public/mission schools in the state for efficient service delivery. Performing the function at the International Convention Center (ICC) Awka, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, highlighted the pivotal role and contributions of teachers in moulding the future of students in Anambra State. The Governor who remarked that the state is doing comparatively well within Nigeria, emphasized the need for schools in the state to strive to be compared with the countries of the world where education is at it’s peak

* The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Anambra State Command in its quest to protect critical national assets has reiterated its commitment to deploy all proactive measures to holistically address and mitigate vandalization. Maku Olatunde, State Commandant of NSCDC Anambra State Command stated this when he paid on the spot assessment to all the financial institutions in Awka to access the performance of personnel deployed to protect and build confidence of the public in all financial institutions, markets and public avenues in and around Awka. The State Command helmsman stated that his visit was part of a deliberate proactive approach to strengthen the security of public infrastructure against wanton vandalism by some undesirable elements, adding that the tour has afforded him the opportunity to access the level of preparedness of personnel to subdue any unforeseen circumstances, review the existing strategies and reinforce the locations with more operational facilities that can safeguard both the infrastructures and lawful citizens .

* Anglican mothers under the Awka Diocesan Mothers’ Union have expressed intention to partner with the non-governmental crusade of Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo to train youths and women in different vocational skills. The women stated this when they visited the governor’s wife at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
Reading her presentation, the leader of team and wife of the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Dr Mrs Martha Ibezim, said that the collaboration to train women and youths in different skills will create jobs, reduce crime and empower women to become self-reliant.

* The Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Council, Hon Prince Sunday Neville Uchendu, has tasked the newly inaugurated executive of Solution Movement of Nigeria (SYMoN), Orumba South Chapter on optimum empowerment of the youths of the area.

Uchendu, who gave the charge when the executive of SYMoN, Orumba South LGA paid him a courtesy visit at his office, Orumba South Council Headquarters, Umunze, called on the leaders to come up with programs that would guarantee stable empowerment of the youths of the local government area.

* Professor Chukwuma Soludo has Commissioned the the 5.1 km Port-harcourt Street and Niger Street in Onitsha South Local government area.
Performing the function, Governor Soludo
requested that representatives of keke drivers and shuttle buses to cut the tape, assisted by the clergy. He highlighted the significance of the road to Onitsha residents and environs being the largest commercial hub in West Africa, noting that his government is deliberate about regenerating Onitsha to its former glory.
