* Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo has approved the appointment of Mrs Nwamaka Arinze as MD, Anambra Oxygen Plant and Mrs (Pharm) Chisom F. Uchem as Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Agency. This was made known yesterday in a release signed by Press Secretary to the Governor Mr. Christian Aburime.

* Momentum continues to build for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the March 18 house of assembly election in Anambra State as the candidate for Awka South 2 constituency, Barr. Ifedi Josiah, reaffirms his availability, transparency and accountability to the people if elected, during his campaign tour in Nibo. While addressing the massive crowd during the tour at various venues, Ifedi, encouraged the people to vote for him (PDP). He assured them that women and youths will be at the forefront of his representation.

* The TC Chairman of Idemili North LGA council, Hon. Amaka Obi has described the passing of the former Dean of the Church of Nigeria, Most Rev’d Maxwell Anikwenwa, as a colossal loss. Anikwenwa died on Monday March 13th at the age of 83.

* Former Gubernatorial Aspirant under the platform of People’s Democratic party (PDP) in Anambra State, Hon. Anigbata Victor Ikechukwu has lauded the Presidential candidate of Labour party, Mr. Peter Obi for making history in the field of politics in Nigeria. Speaking to newsmen in his office at Onitsha, Hon. Anigbata described Obi’s political movement as marvelous and excellent, saying that initially he never expected that Obedient Movement would attain such heights, adding that their outing performances in the recent Presidential and National Assembly election was overwhelming and beyond his imagination.

* The lawmaker representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Obinna Chidoka has empowered youths of Obinagu village, Ire Obosi, in Idemili North Local Goverment Area, Anambra State. The lawmaker had launched an economic empowerment program targeted at empowering the youths and women of his constituency.

* A residential building opposite the property of Chief Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, CEO of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, in Nnewi, Anambra State was razed down by fire. According to an eyewitness who was requesting for men of fire service to come to their rescue, no casualty was reported as individuals rushed  to the scene to assist in putting out the fire.

* Umunze Community in Orumba South local government area of Anambra stood still as large number of women took to the streets protesting the murder of a 72 year old woman Mrs Charity Okoli by three suspected  suspected ritualists alleged to be indigenes of Abakaliki in Ebonyi state. The protesting women with green leaves and placards also demanded for mass exit of all Abakiliki Indigenes out of Umunze town for the atrocious and condemnable killing Mrs. Okoli

* Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR has condoled with the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion over the demise of its former Dean, Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa.

Governor Soludo had on behalf of the government and good people of Anambra State, conveyed his deep condolences to the Anikwenwa family and Archbishop Province of the Niger, and Bishop Anglican Diocese of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim, PhD, over the unfortunate loss.

The Governor noted that the late Archbishop Anikwenwa was a man who devoted his life to the service of God and humanity adding that he lived an examplary life worthy of commendation.
