* Professor Chukwuma Soludo has officially commissioned for public use, the 26 Kilometer Amansea-Ebenebe-Ugbenu- Ugbene-Awba Ofemili road in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The tape was cut by the representatives of commercial tricycle (keke) riders and shuttle bus drivers, as well as the elderly assisted by some clergymen. Addressing the people, Governor Soludo recalled the historical significance of the long stretch road as one of the food baskets of the state, saying it would stimulate the economy and improve the life of the people in the area.
* The Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Maku Olatunde has vowed to give maximum security support and cooperation with Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, (COOU) Anambra State, towards strengthening the security architecture in the institution.
The NSCDC state helmsman gave the assurance on Wednesday when he received in audience the Acting Vice Chancellor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha at the State Command Headquarters Awka. He stated that the NSCDC holds the university in high esteem hence his willingness to partner and consolidate on the existing cordial relationship. Maku said NSCDC as the lead agency in the federal government ‘Safe School Project, is working tirelessly with all stakeholders including other sister security agencies to provide security for staff and students as well as property of all educational institutions.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commission the 3.2 kilometres Okpunoeze-Uruagu road in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area. The governor reiterated the call for collective efforts from the private sector as well as those representing Anambra in different senatorial districts, to draw the attention of the federal government to the deplorable state of federal roads in their various constituencies for the overall development of Anambra. In order to maintain and ensure longevity of the roads, Governor Soludo cautioned traders and residents against displaying their wares on the tarred roads or blocking the water channels with dirt which he noted constitutes nuisance.
* Prof. Lilian Oby Orogbu the member Representing Awka North/South Federal Constituency, has revived the establishment bill for the Federal University of Agriculture Awba Ofemmili, in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The bill initially proposed by her predecessor, Hon. Chinedum Samuel Onwuaso during the 9th Assembly, unfortunately did not pass during his tenure. Recognizing its importance to her constituents, Prof. Orogbu swiftly intervened. As a result, she sponsored a motion advocating for the recommitment of the Bill to the Committee of the Whole, with the aim of expediting its passage.
* Professor Chukwuma Soludo has extended his most warm felicitations to Pastor Chinedu Ezekwesili on the special occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.
Soludo in his goodwill message eulogised Pastor Ezekwesili as a distinguished son of Anambra State and a true man of God whose impact in the service of God and humanity has been remarkably commendable. The Governor specifically noted that Pastor Ezekwesili has been of great inspiration and a pillar of support to him including his amiable wife, Dr Oby Ezekwesili.
* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that the volume of achievements recorded by Governor Chukwuma Soludo in two years in all sectors of the state economy is a clear indication of his mandate to really make Anambra a livable and prosperous homeland. In his Congratulatory Message to Governor Soludo on behalf of the State Legislature, on his two years in office, Udeze who described Governor Soludo’s two years in office as eventful, noted that the greatest thrust of his government is that he has not borrowed any money approved for him by the State Legislature for state’s development, yet he has surprised Ndi Anambra with tangible human and infrastructural developments.
