*The Press Secretary to Anambra State governor, Mr Christian Aburime has blasted the National Assembly member elect for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Prof Lilian Orogbu for trying to gain popularity with the name of the governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo. Orogbu, a Labour Party candidate in the just concluded National Assembly elections was seen in a video trending on social media, where she allegedly talked down on Soludo, saying that LP would sweep the House of Assembly seats in Saturday’s election.
* The Umuezeana Kindred of Ezi-Umunya village, Umunya, the custodians of Obi-Umunya has honoured Mrs Maureen Gwacham with a grand reception at Obi-Umunya in fulfillment of their promise to her, before the election. She assured the people of Oyi and Ayamelum of quality representation, adding that she will reciprocate the kind gesture of Umuezeana kindred of Umunya, while calling on the people of Oyi to vote massively for Chief Sir Innocent Ojike, Ojicam,on Saturday for the State House of Assembly Election
* A Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Idemili-North local government area of Anambra state, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, has joined his voice with numerous other well-meaning Ndi-Anambra to emphasise the dire need for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo to have an APGA majority in the incoming legislature. Nkwoka, who spoke in Awka also stressed that sentiments apart, there was absolutely no need for Ndi-Anambra to elect mediocrities and inexperienced persons who have little or nothing to offer during legislative discussions.
* House of Assembly candidate for Njikoka 2 State Constituency, Dr Jude Akpua has called for massive votes for APGA during Saturday’s March 18th election in the state. Akpua in an interview with journalists in Awka said victory for the party in the 30 assembly seats elections would secure peace, stability and prosperity for the state. He maintained that APGA represented the identity of Anambra and the Igbo nation, and should therefore be preserved by the people.
* Anambra State traders have expressed confidence in the administration of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo in the last one year. Traders under the aegis of Anambra Trader’s Elite Forum in their press release which was signed by Chikeluba Odiche, Chairmen and Michael Nwangwu, Secretary in support of the party in the forthcoming March 18, 2023, State House Assembly election, urged Ndi-Anambra to vote for APGA candidates.
* Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, Mr Christian Aburime has restated that with the various landmark achievements of the governor in different sectors of the state in the last one year in office, candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), deserves overwhelming victory in the March 18 state legislative elections in Anambra.
Aburime in a public statement released on titled “Fake news, propaganda and misinformation as threats to good governance and societal stability” noted that information can either unite people or divide them, depending on how it is disseminated and interpreted.
* The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has described the late Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa as a stoical cleric devoted to the service and redemption of Christianity. Sen. Ubah in his tribute stated that Anikwenwa was a mentor, source of inspiration to many and moral compass of the society.
* A professor of Music, Alvan-Ikoku Nwamara of the Department of Music has been elected as the new Dean, Faculty of Arts. Prof. Nwamara polled a total of 103 votes to emerge Dean while his opponent, Prof. Dukor Mmaduaburochukwu of the department of Philosophy polled 69 votes.
* The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) standard-bearer for Oyi constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly Election, chief sir innocent ojike, (Ojicam) has described his bid to represent the area in the as a project of the people. He said he is favourable disposed to give oyi council area quality representation at the state House of Assembly. According to Ojicam, retirement benefits will be paid to indigenes of Oyi above seventy years, while highly talented children of Oyi extraction will enjoy his scholarship,as he is equally ready to empower the youths of the area.
