* The Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU), has appealed to governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo to conscript the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) into the state security structure. The appealed was made during the association peaceful/thank -you solidarity match in Awka. According to the National President of ASATU, Barrister Titus Akpudo, who spoke to Journalists shortly after the match, said the involvement of NHFSS will serve as another credible alternative in providing watertight security in the villages and communities because they are synonymous with the forest.

* Some ex-Rangers International players including Emmanuel Okala and Christian Chukwu has paid a courtesy visit to Professor Chukwuma Soludo at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia. The Governor who was delighted to receive the ex-players described them as living legend who deserves nothing short of celebration for making the Nigerian nation proud in their playing days. Soludo stated that Rangers Football club is part of the Nigerian identity, the pride of the people who galvanized and lifted the spirit of the people of the Eastern region after the civil war.

* Soludo Ambassadors support group has concluded its mega rally in Anambra North Senatorial Zone at Oyi secretariate Nteje. The support group has also held mega rallies in the other two senatoral zones in Anambra state. Convener Soludo Ambassadors, Hon. Ossy Onuko in his speech said the aim and objectives of the group is to spread the gospel on the good works of Governor Chukwuma Soludo across the state.

* Anambra Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has assured the peace loving people of the State that no stone will be left unturned in hunting down the gunmen who attacked and burnt the Vigilante Office in Amichi, Nnewi South LGA. He condoled with the town and people  on the loss of a vigilante operative during the attack. In a release by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the CP disclosed that effort is ongoing to identify and smash the gang behind the attack. The Commissioner of Police commend vigilante groups across the State for their commitment to the protection of the citizenry and assured that the Police would do all within its powers to protect them.

* Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has urge cooperatives and farmers to actively participate in government programmes aimed at enhancing agriculture. Udeze made the call during an interactive session with Ogbaru Divisional Cooperative Council,  Association of Ogbaru Cooperative Societies, and Active Farmers held at Atani in Ogbaru Council Area. The speaker while addressing the farmers, emphasized the importance of agricultural development in Ogbaru and urged them to participate actively in programmes aimed at enhancing agriculture despite the challenges posed by flooding in the area.

* The administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been described as an era of unprecedented development within the last two years. The Deputy Speaker of the Anambra state House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Okoye stated this while speaking on the two years of the Soludo led administration in the state.

According to the Law maker who represents Awka South Constituency Two, Professor Soludo has proven to be an astute economics by the way he is piloting the affairs of the state without borrowing one kobo so far despite the economic realities across the country. …

The Deputy Speaker observed that great achievement have also been recorded so far in the Health sector where all the health facilities in the various wards are receiving attention as well as massive employment of medical workers.

* The Transition Council Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government, Anambra State, Hon. Emeka Orji has been accused of rascality and maliciously inflicting damages to traders under the aegis of Plank and Joist Association (UPJA) at Bridge head Market, Onitsha.

Hon. Orji is accused of not being a respecter of law and abusing people’s fundamental right as he carried out his duty as the Onitsha South Local Government transition Chairman. Briefing newsmen in his Onitsha office, Chief Clifford Iloegbune Okoye, Lawyer to Plank and Joist Association (UPJA) said that Hon. Orji and his cohorts without notice to traders and without following due process of law went into the (UPJA) Market and pulled down the plazas built by traders on Monday when they were observing sit at home.
