* Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, has appealed to the electorate to be peaceful as they troop to the polling units to cast their votes in Saturday’s State Houses of Assembly election. Soludo, in a special message through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, to the people of Anambra State, said peace is the prerequisite of any meaningful development.

Chukwuma Soludo as an experienced public servant and prudent manager of resources.
The Speaker’s congratulatory message on behalf of the State Legislature was contained in a statement he signed and made available to Journalists in Awka. Okafor said Soludo has made positive history by being the first Governor in Nigeria to embark on massive employment of the citizenry in less than one year in office.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Anaocha LGA, Mr. Gerald Ozoh has assured of Anambra state government’s partnership with communities to ensure functional health centers. Mr. Ozoh gave the indication during an inspection exercise at the newly built one-storied building complex at Ichida. The TC Chairman during the inspection exercise stated that Anambra government led by Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is making sincere efforts in changing the narratives in the healthcare sector and will not want any Anambra citizen to die out of carelessness and unprofessionalism.
* The Anambra Police Command says they are fully ready and prepared for the Saturday March 18th, 2023 House of Assembly election in the State. The State Commissioner of Police for election, Mr Aderemi Adeoye, who reassured on security, gave an update on the situation in the state when he spoke with newsmen at the State Command Headquarters Amawbia. According to the CP, ‘men and women of the command in collaboration with other sister agencies in the state, the DSS, NSCDC, FRSC and Immigration Service, are fully equipped for the national assignment’. Adeoye said he was impressed with the level of security across the state ahead of the election.
* Ahead of Saturdays March 18th elections, mothers and daughters of Nteje have passed a vote of confidence on their son, Onyebuchi Johnpaul Ajuluchukwu (ỌJA), candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), as they believe he is the most competent, credible and qualified candidate to represent Oyi constituency at the Anambra state House of Assembly. In a meeting with Ajuluchukwu they women said they are supporting the ZLP candidate because it is the turn of Nteje town to produce the next House of Assembly member of Oyi Constituency because Nteje had supported other towns to other elective positions over the years.
* AIG Rudolf Obe Echebi Mni has assumed duty as AIG Election for Anambra and Enugu State Commands which make up Zone 13 with Headquarters at Ukpo Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State. The AIG was received by senior officers at the Zonal Headquarters in Ukpo. He has also visited the Headquarters of Anambra State Police Command where he reviewed security arrangements for State House of Assembly Election scheduled for Saturday. He has proceeded to Enugu State Command in continuation of his assignment. Other senior officers deployed to Anambra Command for this national Assignment include DCP Johnson Adenola – Anambra South; DCP Polycarp Emeka – Anambra Central and DCP Yusuf Ajape – Anambra North Senatorial Dristricts respectively.
* The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Anambra State, Dr Queen Elizabeth Agwu has reiterated the commission’s readiness to conduct a hitch free and credible elections in the thirty constituencies of Anambra state.
Dr. Agwu who gave the assurance in a press conference at the INEC Headquarters in Awka confirmed that the election must hold as scheduled, and that the commission had distributed all sensitive and non-sensitive materials in all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
* All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been projected to win election into Anambra State legislative house. This prediction was made in result of an opinion poll published online by a group of data analysts and public relations experts coordinated by FREEWORLD Continentale. The group had made similar projection by predicting outright victory in 17 states for candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tonubu, shortly before the recently concluded February 25 presidential and National Assembly election.
* The traditional ruler of Abacha, in Idemili North Council of Anambra State, Igwe Godwin Odiegwu said Governor Chukwuma Soludo will surpass his predecessors’ achievements. Odiegwu while speaking in an interview, commended the governor for the developmental achievements recorded in his one year in office particularly in youth development through one-youth-two-skills initiative.
* Mothers of the Church of Pentecost, Awka, have organized a social evening ahead of their annual Mothering Sunday celebration which comes up on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
The social evening is part of weeklong of activities ahead of the Mothering Sunday by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).
