* Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has extended hands of fellowship to all winners of the National and State Assembly Elections in the state for the overall development of the state.
Governor Soludo made the statement during a statewide broadcast at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia. The Governor who spoke as the National Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, described the election process as peaceful, congratulated the President-elect, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governors-elect, Senators-elect, House of Representatives members-elect and State House of Assembly members-elect.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Mr Augustine Onyemaobi has commended the impressive performance of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA in the March 18th, 2023 State House of Assembly election due to the spectacular performance of the Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo after one year in office. Onyemaobi stated this while commenting on the one year anniversary of Soludo administration. He emphasized that governance has taken a new dawn since the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria started piloting the affairs of the state. Dunukofia Mayor noted that the governor has awarded over 200 kilometers of roads across the state which are currently under construction.
* The State Executive of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Fans Club lead by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Mobilization, Hon. Obiajulu Nwoye has withdrawn the appointment giving to Hon. Nonso Obi as the chairman, APGA Fans Club Nnewi North zone. This was as a result of his alleged anti party activities which the club executive reportedly warned him against before the House of Representatives election in the state.
* The Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Frank Collins-Okafor has adjudged the March eighteen State House of Assembly election in Anambra State as a true reflection of the choice of the people. The Political Scientist made the assessment in Awka while commenting on the election. Professor Okafor who said that he voted at Afor-Mkpukpa in Umudioka ward three explained that the House of Assembly election went on peacefully as eligible voters voted freely without molestation or intimidation.
* The Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr Julius Chukwuemeka, has congratulated the member-elect, Anambra State House of Assembly, Anambra East Constituency, Barr Obi Nweke on his resounding victory in the last saturday’s House of Assembly election.
Engr Chukwuemeka stated that the state assembly election was keenly contested among the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) and few other political parties but Ndi Anambra East demonstrated the love they have for Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, who has demonstrated his capacity through the all-round transformation he has brought to Anambra within the past one year.
* Traders in Onitsha, the commercial city of Anambra state were greeted with a shocking news on Tuesday morning as goods worth millions of naira were reportedly destroyed following a mysterious fire outbreak that erupted in the market in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to an eyewitness, the fire started at about 5am at the popular Abada/Lace Line, where different types of clothing materials are sold. ANN gathered that the inferno first started in a building in the area, popularly known as the White House, which housed offices, halls and shops, before it speedily escalated to other shops in the area.
* The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, has stressed the need for mothers to always be a role model to both their children and larger society. Bishop Ezeofor stated this while speaking at St Peter Parish Ukpo, Aguata Local Government Area, reminding them of the need to maintain their pride and dignity as the mirror of their families.
Bishop Ezeofor, who is also the national chairman, Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion, EFAC used the opportunity to advise mothers to always monitor the kind of company their children keep and regretted the high rate of idolatry among youths charging Christian parents and ministers of God to rise up to the challenge.
* Christians have been called to come together and pray for divine intervention in the problems bedeviling the Nigerian nation. A former CAN Chairman, Anambra State Chapter, Reverend Dr John Ndubuisi, in an interview with the ABS, noted that things have fallen apart nationally and globally and that the nation is bleeding due to corruption. Reverend Ndubuisi charged true men of God to stand up and lead the church to God.
