* The Chief of Staff to Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Ernest Ezeajuhi has re-emphasized that the Governor recognizes that his mandate is an agenda with a deadline which has influenced the speed at which the government is implementing transformative reforms and infrastructural upgrade. Mr Ezeajughi who recalled that the Governor encountered a landscape beset with a myriad of challenges  ranging from insecurity, infrastructural deficit, and environmental threats that all  demanded immediate and strategic responses. Ezeajughi who was speaking in Awka while recounting the state of Anambra when the Governor assumed office, said that two years ago, many communities in the state were fraught with danger making journey through the various parts of the state as unthinkable due to the prevailing insecurity, while the fabric of road networks was an emblem of decay.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has described the death of former Speaker of the 4th Anambra Assembly Rt. Hon. Anayo Nnebe as a big loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire Awka community, Anambra State and Nigeria at large. Soludo who was represented by the Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim while speaking at the valedictory session in honour of the late Nnebe said the former lawmaker has left a vacume that will be difficult to fill.

* The Anambra State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Barrister Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche says the Anambra State government is prioritizing the provision of fire hydrants and stations in all major markets in the state to increase response time to fire emergencies in the state. Hon. Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche stated this in a press statement earlier released in Awka in reaction to the midnight fire that totally razed four shops and affected about eight others at ATD Line, Building Materials, Bridge Head Market, Onitsha The Commissioner while consoling the victims that lost their goods running into millions of naira to the fire, revealed that the Anambra State government understands that reducing the number of fire incidents in the state is a very critical catalyst for realizing its vision of a liveable homeland. 

* The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, SP. Tochukwu Ikenga says the suspected rapist of a fifteen-year-old girl at Ado Girls Secondary School, Onitsha, Mr. James Innoma will appear in court on 29th of March, 2024. The suspect, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, during interrogation confessed to the crime. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) disclosed this when the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh alongside the Chairman Committee on Education at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Okpalaeke, the member representing Aguata one constituency paid a courtesy call to the State Criminal Investigation Department to get update on the rape case.

* Professor Chukwuma Soludo has conveyed his congratulations to Dr. Adaora Umeoji, on her recent appointment as the first female Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc.   

Soludo in his congratulatory message expressed happiness that her elevation to this esteemed position not only marks a significant milestone in her illustrious career but also stands as a confirmation of her dogged commitment as a top executive in the banking industry. The Governor noted that Dr. Umeoji’s appointment as the first female Group Managing Director of the bank reflects a remarkable advancement towards gender equality and inclusivity in the corporate world, reaffirming the limitless potential and capabilities of female professionals in driving organisational success and societal progress. 

* Former Governor of Anambra State Mr. Peter Obi has described late Rt. Hon. Anayo Nnebe as an outstanding legislatore who distinguished himself as a public servant.

Obi who was the Governor when Nnebe was Speaker while speaking at the valedictory session in honour of the  former legislstor said the former Speaker was elected as a member in the Federal House of Representative because of his leadership qualities. He prayed that his soul will rest in peace.

* The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has offered 30 students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, who are indigent but brilliant, scholarships to support their studies at the university. The beneficiaries are all undergraduates, including one living with disabilities, and spread across levels, pursuing different courses of study. Addressing the beneficiaries at the ASUU-UNIZIK conference hall, the Chairman of the branch, Prof. Kingsley Ubaoji, said each student will be supported with the sum of fifty thousand each (N50,000).

* Over fifty (50) persons living with sickle sell disorder in Anambra State have been adopted into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme (ASHIS) by the state government as part of events marking the second year anniversary of the Soludo government. The Managing Director of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr Simeon Onyemaechi, in his speech, stated that the initiative is in line with the pro-poor and vulnerable stance of the Prof. Chukwuma Soludo administration, describing the gesture as a strong commitment to shouldering the financial burden associated with managing the health challenges of the sickle cell patients. Dr. Onyemaechi, who was represented by Mrs Tonia Okoli, enlightened the beneficiaries on the importance of regular checkups, especially now that they have health insurance.

* The member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency of Anambra State, Dr. Pascal Agbodike, has said Governor Charles Soludo will be named among the best performing governors in Nigeria at the expiration of his eight years administration in the state. According to the lawmaker, what Anambra State governor has done in transforming within two years in office will qualify him to be among the best performing governor, Nigeria will ever produce at the expiration of his eight years as Governor.

* National Water Resources Capacity Building Network Centre,  NWRCBNet in collaboration with the Borehole Drillers Association Of Nigeria, BODAN, Anambra State Chapter have marked the 2024 World Water Day celebration with a  flag off a borehole project at Igwebudu Primary School Urum. The event which took place at the school in Awka North council area attracted community stakeholders, students and management of the school. Flagging off project, the Director, NWRCBNet SE Professor Emma Ezenwaji said that the celebration aims to highlight the benefits of water management as a conduit for peace, showcasing effective mechanisms and tools to enhance cooperation and prevent water-related disputes.
