# Hon. Dozie Nwankwo has described Governor Chukwuma Soludo as “God’s gift to Ndi Anambra.”

Hon. Nwankwo made the declaration while fielding questions from newsmen in Awka.

Chief Nwankwo said the governor’s first term laid a solid foundation for sustainable development, and he expressed confidence that the second term would consolidate the gains.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially sworn in a new state officials and special advisers during a brief ceremony, held at the Light House in Awka, marking a significant reinforcement of the state’s executive arm.

During the ceremony, Governor Soludo emphasized that these appointments were not merely political rewards but a call to intense labor for the benefit of ndi Anambra.

Addressing the new appointees, Soludo remarked that their selection is a testament to thier proven integrity and professional excellence, saying that the task ahead is demanding as they are in a race against time to build a liveable and prosperous homeland.

In their separate speeches, the Attorney General, Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake and Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Aburime, assured to work harder in delivering the solution mandate.

# Anambra State Police Command has arrested Mr Chinedu Nwobi and Mr Okwudili Nweke aged 25, for allegedly conspiring with Mr Obiora Okoye to fake the kidnap of a 18-year-old girl, Miss Mmesoma Ifediora.

Anambra Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement, alleged that the two suspects were arrested on March 14, 2026 while the ‘kidnapped’ (Mmesoma) was rescued at a forest popularly known as Malaysia Forest” located at Iruayika, Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State.

According to Ikenga, Mmesoma reportedly conspired with her boyfriend (Obiora), who escaped during the arrest, to fake the abduction and demanded for N3000,000 ransom from her parents but they managed to send in N240,000 through her Opay Account, scouting to pay the remaining balance.

 

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has paid as assessment visit to the Anambra State Secretariat to evaluate employee conduct and dedication.

During the visit on Thursday, aimed to gauge the current attitude toward public service, the Governor engaged directly with staff and inspected various Minustries and departments.

Addressing the media, Governor Soludo delivered a candid assessment of what he observed on the ground, describing the findings as a mix of “the good, the bad, and the ugly.”

The Governor paid a warm tribute to the “good eggs” within the system—those dedicated civil servants who maintain punctuality and professional integrity, but however struck a stern tone regarding those failing to meet the state’s standards.

# The State and Local Government Coordinators of Divine Active Men and Women in Agriculture have been inaugurated in Nibo, Awka South LGA, with the aim of ensuring food security in Nigeria.

Inaugurating them at the 2026 farming season flag-off ceremony of the organisation, the Chairman on the occasion, Chief Chike Odoji, charged them to carry the message of farming to their various local governments and communities, arouse people’s consciousness about agriculture, and teach them modern farming methods regardless of the space available, so as to achieve food sufficiency in Nigeria.

In her address, the National President of Divine Active Men/Women in Action, Agriculture and in Business, Ambassador Chiemeka Ositadimma, explained that the movement, tagged “Operation Farm to Feed,” speaks directly to the urgency of the organisation’s mission to ensure food security, create employment, and restore dignity through agriculture and enterprise, calling on all to return to the land, harness natural resources, and build a future where no one goes hungry.

# As the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primary election draw nearer, the Mayor of Idemili North LGA, Chief Stanley Nkwoka, has drawn massive support for frontline aspirant for Idemili North/South Federal Constituency seat under APGA, Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu.

In their separate remarks, the Idemili North Mayor, Chief Stanley Nkwoka, Idemili North Party Chairman, Chief Lemmy Ekwo, the Mayor of Idemili South, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi, all described him as the right choice for the party, highlighting his contributions to the progress of the party.

They expressed confidence that his emergence as APGA flag bearer and his victory in 2027 general elections will bring hope, development and effective representation to Idemili North/South Federal Constituency.

Responding, Chief Iyiegbu expressed deep appreciation to the stakeholders, party executives and support groups for their unwavering support. He assured them that he will not betray the confidence reposed on him if given opportunity to serve.

He promised to provide quality representation that reflects the collective aspirations and interests of the people. He urged them to take advantage of the ongoing party revalidation and registration exercise to obtain party membership card.

# Police personnel attached to the Ozubulu Division recovered a suspected stolen white trailer tanker along the Onitsha-Owerri Expressway.

Ikenga revealed the vehicle, which had no registration number, was found abandoned with its key in the ignition.

SP. Ikenga added that the Command has launched efforts to trace the owner of the tanker and uncover the circumstances surrounding its abandonment, while investigations continue on both incidents.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to maintaining safety and security, urging the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support police operations.

# A stakeholder, Chief Uchenna Nzekwe, has officially flagged off the construction of a one-kilometre road project in Ichida community, Anaocha Local Government Area, as part of his personal commitment to grassroots development.

Speaking during the event, Chief Nzekwe, who is the MD/CEO of Ucheson Investment and Construction Nigeria Limited, described the road project as the realization of a long-held personal vision to give back to his community.

According to Nzekwe, the initiative is purely driven by his passion for development and not by political interests. He further revealed that the road project is expected to be completed within five months, expressing confidence that it will improve transportation, enhance connectivity, and boost economic activities in Ichida and its environs.
