* Anambra High Court sitting in Awka, the state capital, has adjourned a suit seeking the return of schools taken over by the East Central Government in 1970 . The Proprietors of the said schools had presented 5th evidence in the ongoing case it instituted against the State Government. After Counsel to the Plaintiffs announced presence of a witness, Mr. Anthony Chude, the court admitted as/in evidence two depositions earlier made by the witness; in which he claimed ownership of Metropolitan College, Onitsha. When asked during cross examination why they didn’t take action until after over 50 years, the witness said they had made unwritten requests, adding that they instituted the legal action after their unwritten request for the return of their schools failed, and they noticed that apart from them, government had returned other schools to their original owners, including the Churches.
* Anambra State House of Assembly has reshuffle some of the committee chairman and their deputies. Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, the Speaker of the 8th assembly made the announcement at plenary before adjournment. The Speaker urged the acting clark and secreteries to take note of the changes. He thanked all the members of the 8th assembly and the staff for their dedication and commitment to legislative responsibilities.
* The duo of Chinonso Chinaemelu, 27-year-old and Okoye Chisom Christian, 20-year-old has been sentenced to one year imprisonment respectively for vandalizing a distribution substation belonging to the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC), by the Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State. This development was made known by the Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh in a statement. According to Ezeh, they were arrested on the 29th of November 2023 by Abatete local vigilante group while attempting to vandalize the distribution substation within the locality.
* The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, Anambra state Chapter has embarked on an indefinite strike over non implementation of full legislative financial autonomy by the Anambra State Government. In a circular signed by the Chairman, of the Association, Mr Abraham Okoye and his Secretary Comrade Ugochukwu Obiwulu, the body notes that the industrial action followed a circular received from the national body of the association to that effect.
According to the circular pasted at the entrance of the State Assembly complex, the Association observed that the Anambra state government is foot dragging over the implementation of the legislative financial autonomy, despite receiving series of letters from both the state and national body of PASAN.
* Professor Chukwuma Soludo has conveyed his warm felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the joyous occasion of his 72nd birthday.

* The President General of Awgwu Improvement Union Hon. Emmanuel Akidi has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the provision of clean, green and portable solar driven water supply to Awgwu community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State. Hon. Akidi made the commendation during the technical handover of a solar powered water borehole facility at the community secondary school Awgwu by a team from Anambra state Ministry of Power and Water Resources Awka. The P.G thanked the state government for remembering Awgwu community.
He stressed that Governor Soludo’s approach to Community development is worthy of emulation while using the opportunity to thank the state government for the appointment of one of their son as the chief of staff of Anambra state.
* The Secretary of Anambra State chapter of Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Pastor Elvis Okoli has denied allegations that he is plotting to eliminate Mr Wilfred Ezike, who is also known as Mgbilimgba. Mgbilimgba was recently tortured by some members the Anambra State Anti Touting Special Squad (SASA), a development that raised dust across the state. Mgbilimgba had in a reaction alleged that Pastor Elvis Okoli had a N12million business deal with him, which according to him he had refused to pay, but chose to eliminate him in order cover payment of the huge sum. He accused Okoli of being behind his ordeal. But reacting to the allegations in an interview with newsmen in Awka, the state capital, Elvis Okoli said that he had no business with Wilfred Ezike, stressing that he should go and settle with those he had businesses with.
