* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has conveyed warm congratulations to the Muslim faithful in Anambra State and across Nigeria on the auspicious occasion of Eid el-Fitr, marking the culmination of the sacred month of Ramadan.

In a deeply reflective goodwill message, Governor Soludo praised the Muslim community for its untiring dedication to the values of sacrifice, compassion, and spiritual renewal demonstrated during Ramadan.

Governor Soludo also emphasized the timeliness of Eid el-Fitr’s message of unity, urging Nigerians to embrace the occasion as an opportunity to strengthen bonds of mutual respect and understanding.

The Governor further highlighted the alignment of Eid’s lessons with his administration’s vision for Anambra State, anchored on justice, equity, and collective progress. He reiterated his commitment to policies that promote social cohesion, economic empowerment, and dialogue as cornerstones of sustainable development.

Therefore, Governor Soludo joins millions across Nigeria and the world in wishing the Muslim community a joyous and blessed Eid al-Fitr celebration, praying that the blessings of this season fill every home with joy, gratitude, and renewed hope as we all carry forward the spirit of Ramadan to build a nation where every citizen thrives in dignity.

* Frontline APC governorship aspirant Sir Paul Chukwuma has hailed the women of Anambra State for their resilience, sacrifices, and immeasurable contributions to family and society. If elected governor, he promises greater inclusivity for women.

In a heartfelt tribute to mark Mothering Sunday, Chukwuma described mothers as the “heartbeat of the family and the silent architects of our future,” stressing that their impact extends far beyond the home.

Chukwuma pledged that his administration would prioritise women’s inclusion in governance, business, and education, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to thrive.

* Youths numbering over 2000 sang songs of joy in preparation to becoming employers of labour.

The youths have just completed their training in the second phase of the “One Youth Two Skills” Entrepreneurship Scheme in the batch A stream 1 and 2 for Master Trainers, Trainees and Umu-Boi in Onitsha South, Onitsha North, Oyi, and Dunukofia Local Government Areas.

The second phase of the programme with the theme: “Raising Smart Entrepreneurs” will see over 8,600 participants graduating from the programme in the 21 council areas of the state.

They were trained in 44 different skills, including business management from UNIZIK Business School.

* The lawmaker representing Ayamelum state constituency in the 8th legislature of Anambra State Hon. Maduaburochukwu Bernard Udemezue has observed that insecurity is still a matter of utmost concern in the state despite concerted efforts by the present administration to achieve a peaceful cum tranquil atmosphere devoid of security breaches.

Udemezue who spoke at the state assembly complex Awka, said although the newly launched Operation Udo Ga Achi and Agunechemba security squad are doing their best to provide watertight security in the state; he said insecurity has not stopped instead the state is currently witnessing a deterioration of the situation.

The lawmaker who made reference to a recent viral video online where kidnappers shot their victims with fierce brutality and posted it online with flagrant audacity questioned the capacity of the authorities in charge to check activities of criminal elements lurking in the state.

* Anambra state House of Assembly Committee on Information has extended hands of co-operation to the management of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, in a bid to better reposition the station to perform optimally.

The Committee led by its chairman Honourable Fred Ezenwa, representing Onitsha South constituency one, made this known when they paid an oversight visit to the station.

According to Ezenwa, it is their duty to oversight the station, know how they are faring and proffer solution in the areas they can, congratulating the MD of ABS, Mr Chris Molokwu on his appointment as the man at the helm of affairs.

Receiving the group, the ABS Boss, Mr Molokwu appreciated the House committee members for the visit and explained that since he took over, content creation has improved while series of staff training have taken place to reposition them for better performance even as he listed various areas where the station had tried to get attention for maximum operations to include, getting functional equipment, power supply in terms of electricity and solar energy, pension and gratuity for retirees of the establishment among others.

* The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration for its inclusive governance and progress of the state.

A commendation letter to the Governor signed by JONAPWD Anambra state Chairman, Comrade Ugochukwu-Ernest Okeke, extolled Soludo’s outstanding leadership and remarkable achievements over the past three years in the state.

Okeke said since Soludo’s emergence as governor, Anambra has witnessed unprecedented progress in various sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and social development.

He also said Soludo’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusivity has brought about significant improvements in the lives of the people including persons with disabilities.

* As the Anglican and Catholic Mothers as well as other mothers from other religious bodies celebrate this year’s Mothering Sunday, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described Christian Mothers as pivotal instruments designed by God for family transformation and evangelism.

Felicitating Christian Mothers as they converge on their various churches to mark their Special Sunday, Rt. Hon. Udeze commended them for the critical role they play in the church especially their massive support towards the growth and development of their various churches.

The Speaker who enjoined Christian Mothers to emulate virtuous women like Mary, Esther, Dorcas and Hannah among others whose faith and trust in God were unwavering, encouraged them to always bear fruits worthy of good Christian Mothers.

He charged them to continue to champion family prayer and be good examples to their children by inculcating love and good morals in them through proper training.

Rt. Hon. Udeze prayed God to continue to strengthen Christian Mothers in all ramifications and give them sound health and longevity to enable them to celebrate more glorious Mothering Sundays.

* The Anambra State Police Command has paraded various crime suspects and weapons recovered from them within the period.

The State Commissioner For Police, CP. Ikioye Orutugu during a Press Briefing at the Command’s headquarters, Amawbia
commiserated with victims of the fire incident at Onitsha and revealed that no life was lost, as police are on ground to prevent hoodlums from taking advantage of the situation.

CP. Orutugu explained that within the period under review four kidnapped suspects were rescued, including a Priest of the Catholic Church, Reverend Father Stephen Echezona while over ten suspects were arrested for various crimes and commended the synergy between the police and other security agencies including vigilante group in sustaining gains achieved.

The State Police Commissioner went further to state that four cars were recovered and three already handed over to the owners, while ten arms, fourty-six life, and sixteen expended cartridges were also recovered.

* The Onitsha Business School, Industrial Skill Acquisition, and Application Centre (ISAAC) has held their first maiden convocation ceremony for the ISAAC students at OBS 19a Regina Nwankwu Avenue, GRA Onitsha, Anambra State.

The event, which portrayed the proper Nigerian youth with its theme “Building entrepreneurial capacity for redefining African Economy,” has produced 89 graduating students of ISAAC, which comprises stream 1 and stream 2 batches.

Speaking, Prof. Olusegun Sogbesan, founder, Director General and chairman governing council of Onitsha Business School said ISAAC school is targeted towards bringing Nigerian graduates from higher institution to bring out the entrepreneurial components in their course of study and to join them with the indigenous entrepreneurship knowledge and skills for redefining African Economy.

The registrar Onitsha Business School,Dr Sylvanus Izebhokhae in his address said OHS delivers her services in 3 centres which ar Industrial Skill Acquisition and Application Centre (ISAAC) where tertiary institution graduates are taught the entrepreneurial components of their undergraduate course, Obi Nnaemeka Achebe indigenous management Centre (ONALIM C) and Professional centre.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has lamented the unfortunate fire incident that occurred at Ifejika Street, Sokoto Road, Onitsha, during which shops and goods worth millions of naira were burnt.

Governor Soludo extends his sincere sympathies to the affected traders and property owners impacted by this distressing event.

The unfortunate fire incident destroyed two four-story buildings and damaged a third. Thankfully, no lives were lost, though significant property and goods were lost.
