* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has promised continued partnership with private individuals and corporate organizations in addressing challenge of housing deficit in the state.

Governor Soludo made the remark during an official function in Awka. Governor Soludo, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, said the partnership will help in realizing his administration’s vision of making Anambra livable and prosperous.

* The Transition Chairman IdemilI north LGA, Sir Chuks Brown Igboanua has commended the Federal Road Safety Commission for its resolve to site one of its area command offices at Idemili north LGA. In an official visit to the council headquarters at Ogidi, Sir Chuks commended the Deputy Corp Commander in charge of the Local Government Area Station Office in Anambra state,  Mrs G.I .Omeke for her commitment to duty.

* A killing orgy that nearly sparked off in Oko community in Orumba-North Local Government Area over the weekend was averted following an intervention by Anambra State Government that saved the situation. A source said trouble began when two rival camps of youth from the town pitched different tents in a protracted rift between the monarch of the community, Igwe Laz Ekwueme and president general of Oko Peoples Union (OPU), Mr. Amaechi Okoli.

According to the source, Igwe Ekwueme’s face-off with Okoli did not take time before it many people were caught in their crossfire leading to the attempt to search for opponents by armed youth from nearby Federal Polytechnic, Oko.

* The former Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Willie Obiano on Legislative Matters, Chief Edozie Ezeugwa, has called for proper training of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, staff engaged in election duty for improved service delivery. Ezeugwa made the call while reacting to the conduct of the 2023 general election by INEC

* In a bid to reach the grassroots and serve ndi Anambra more efficiently, Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) has embarked on a three-day training of 179 liaison officers appointed by the various communities’ town unions in Anambra State to interface on behalf of the agency and the people at the community levels. Their duties entail taking up the responsibility of informing and also, ensuring that the villages, hamlets, kindreds, churches and any such bodies within their communities pay their levies on all such posters, banners, billboards, flexs used for any form of such ceremonies.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has restated that part of his mission in Anambra State is to redefine leadership and carve out positive future for the youths. Governor Soludo restated this during his official visit to Anambra East, Onitsha North and South Local Government Areas. The governor, who used the occasion to inspect the ongoing Nsugbe-Akpaka Road also flagged of the construction of Niger Street Road by Zik Avenue, Fegge Onitsha.

* Anambra youths have described the decision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo to allow the Anambra electorate make their choice in favour of Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi during Saturday’s Presidential election in the state, as exemplary of a good leader, who respects the will of the people. The commendation came from Anambra youths under the aegis of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), in reaction to the resounding victory of the LP presidential candidate in Anambra, where he polled a total of 584,621 votes.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, has called on individuals and communities to support the state government in achieving efficient and effective healthcare system that will be affordable and accessible to all. Dr. Obidike made call while commissioning a hospital at Onono, Umuikwu Anam in Anambra West Local Government Area.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called on Ndi Igbo to always promote Igbo language and culture in their areas to enable their people locate and identify with them. Governor Soludo made the call at Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area, during the foundation stone laying ceremony for Ukpo Cultural Museum Center. Represented by the state Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Comrade Don Onyenji, the Governor said that part of his manifesto talks about resurrection, promotion and projection of core Igbo values, and commended people of Ukpo community for the project, which he noted would help advance their culture.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has unveiled plans by the state government to recruit additional two thousand, five hundred teachers in addition to the five thousand recruited in 2022. Professor Chuma-Udeh disclosed this during the official takeover of Umuji Community College, Ebenebe, Awka North Local Government Area by Anambra State Government. She noted that when Governor Soludo declared a state of emergency on Anambra State Roads, he also declared an emergency on the state educational sector, hence the massive hiring of teachers.

* The member representing Anambra West Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Honourable Patrick Obalum-Udoba, has appealed to the people of the area to take ownership of Mmiata Anam-Nzam ongoing road construction. Honourable Obalum-Udoba, who spoke to the ABS in Awka, said that the road construction embarked upon by the Soludo led administration is critical to the people of Anambra West Constituency. The Lawmaker noted that the road, when completed, will help the people of the agrarian area to ease movement of their farm produce to the urban areas, as well as reduce the stress people go through along the road.
