* Sir Paul Chukwuma, the Pro-Chancellor of Olivia University, Burundi has consoled the family of the late Akunnia Obiefuna Benjamin Nwabueze (SAN), the Oduah Afo-na-isagba of Atani who passed away at the age of 94 in October 2023 stating that the late Elderstatesman will be missed. Sir Paul Chukwuma stated this during the burial of the late sage which was held at Atani, Ogbaru, Anambra State. He stated that the late sage was larger than life and influenced a lot of kids in Anambra and beyond including himself while growing up.
* A philanthropist, High Chief Ken Ifekudu, has come out to debunk rumors of his political ambition, specifically regarding the Anambra 2025 governorship election. Some online platforms recently published a false news about Chief Ken Ifekudu eyeing Anambra government house which went viral on social media. But reacting to the news, Chief Ifekudu debunked any interest in politics. According to him, there’s no intention of accepting a political appointment or running for governor.
Responding to insinuations that his philanthropy is linked to his future ambitions, Ifekudu clarified that helping others is not a prerequisite for leadership.
* The traditional ruler of Umuawulu community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Joe Egwuonwu, has conferred a Chieftaincy title of “Dekora” (meaning, the strength of the people), on the Director General, National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Brig. General Yushau Ahmed. The conferment ceremony took place at the State NYSC Orientation Camp Umuawulu/Mbaukwu during the Scheme’s cultural carnival organized for the 2024 Batch “A’ Stream 1 Corp Members. The tittle, according to the monarch, was in appreciation of what the DG has been doing for the camp, corp members and the two host communities.

has scheduled the 5th and 6th of March 2024 for the commencement of the Recruitment Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the qualified general duty candidates

* Professor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed profound sadness over the shocking news of the death of veteran Nollywood actor, Mr. John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, on Saturday 2nd, March 2024. Soludo on behalf of the government and people of Anambra State, commiserates with Mr. Okafor’s family, friends, and colleagues including the Actors Guild of Nigeria during this difficult time. He regrets that Mr. Okafor’s passing has left a significant void in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
* It was a dramatic scene in Awka, the Anambra State capital, as a young man identified as Kingsley Uzodimma collapsed and became unconscious after allegedly smoking Colorado, a psychotropic drug, popularly known as “Colos” — the eponym for the popular slang “On Colos”. The incident, which occured at about 1.pm at the weekend happened Off the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Junction, UNIZIK Temp. Site, Awka.
* A former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, has condemned the Nigerian Constitution as presently composed. He said the Nigerian 1999 Constitution had no impetus to address the economic situation and other challenges facing the country. Anyaoku listed poverty, insecurity, infrastructure breakdown, among others as some of the “serious challenges” in the country which the constitution had failed to address. The ex-Commonwealth scribe stated these at his country home, Obosi in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State during the “Ito Ogbo”, a longevity festival and initiation for those who had attained the age of 80 .
* Anambra State Governor’s wife, Nonye Soludo, has assured that the present administration’s development vision for the state is backed by pure commitment and passionate will to serve. Mrs Soludo stated this during the launch of Solution House-2-House Women Initiative at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka. Solution House-2-House Women Initiative is a human capital empowerment model that targets low-income families and women who are into small businesses. The project also mobilizes women to carry development messages of the current administration down to the grassroots.
* Anambra State Drivers have lamented the inhuman treatments, Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA), and Anambra Special Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) are subjecting them. ARTMA and SASA at the weekend stormed TRACAS bus stop Onitsha, attacked drivers and seized their vehicles accusing them of obstructions. One of the victims, a 70 years old, Mr Aloy Obi told reporters that the two government agencies attacked them at TRACAS bus stop and seized their vehicles without commiting any offence.
