# The lawmaker representing Aguata two Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly Dr. Tony Muobike, has called on traditional medicine practitioners to embrace emergency response training in order to improve their capacity to save lives in critical situations.
Hon. Moubike who is the Chairman House Committee on Health, made the call during a training workshop organised for Traditional Medicine Practitioners in partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross Society.
The lawmaker explained that the training was designed to create awareness on how to handle emergencies, noting that many lives have been lost due to lack of prompt response to incidents such as snake bites, accidents and sudden health complications.
According Moubike, Anambra state government is committed to improving the quality of life of the people through accessible healthcare services, adding that knowledge and proper training are key components of quality healthcare delivery.

Leading the debate, in proposing amendment to criminalize recording, screenshoting of sexual intimacy, personal nudity and other private moments without consents, Hon. Azikiwe
stated that the social media and the Internet are repleted with issues and cases where private intimate moments between adults were exposed to the world basically for ulterior motives and without the consents of the victims.
Hon. Azikiwe explained that if a loved one taking a shower or exposes his or her nakedness supposedly to someone in a video call doesn’t imply that the individual gave his or her consent to be recorded or screenshoted for some unconventional reasons.
# The Department of Architecture Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has recorded a major academic milestone as it has been granted full accreditation status by the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON), seven years after the programme previously operated on partial accreditation.
The accreditation outcome was communicated through an official memo signed by Arc. Mohammed Itopa Sule, the Registrar of ARCON and copied to the Chairman of the ARCON Education Committee.
The report followed an accreditation visitation exercise carried out between 16th and 19th December 2025 at the University’s Department of Architecture, Uli Campus.
After reviewing the panel’s findings, ARCON approved full accreditation for the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) Architecture programmes, effective from 1st December 2025 to 30th November 2027.
# The lawmaker representing Ayamelum Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Maduabuchukwu Bernard Udemezue says Governor Chukwuma Soludo has done well in his first term.
Hon. Udemezue in his office while briefing journalists on the achievements of the governor during his first term in office stated that Soludo has performed remarkably well, even though Ayamelum local government area did not benefit as much as expected.
According to the lawmaker, the governor has generally performed well across the state and should not be judged solely based on developments in Ayamelum Local Government Area.

Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha has expressed immense joy as the
Department of Architecture where granted full accreditation status by the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON), seven years after the programme previously operated on partial accreditation.
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, noted that the department had been engaged in a long process of accreditation renewal since 2019 and credited the success to resilience, strategic leadership, and collaborative support.
Prof. Omenugha particularly highlighted the completion of the new Architecture building, which she said was made possible through a combination of TETFund support and the university’s internally generated revenue, ensuring that the project did not become abandoned.
The VC, revealed that discussions for the Architecture building dated back to her time as Commissioner for Education in Anambra State in 2014, she commended the contractor, TETFund, and members of the university community who remained steadfast in ensuring the project’s completion.
The VC also congratulated the Head of Department, Dr. Oluchi Ifebi, and staff of the department for their dedication, noting that the achievement represents a defining moment for the university.
# The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, has expressed optimism that the ongoing infrastructural transformation in the state will be so remarkable that residents may hardly recognize the roads leading to their homes by the end of the next four years.
Dr. Ibezim made the remark while representing the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, at the burial ceremony of the late patriarch, Dr. Michael Nwankwo Chukwunedu Nwofor (Ozo Enyikwonwa), held at his residence on Nworah Street in Awka.
In his condolence message to the bereaved family, the Deputy Governor eulogized the late Nwofor for the remarkable impact he made in his community Awka, the church, and the state at large. He described the deceased as a great man who strongly identified with the state government and contributed meaningfully to the development of his home community.
Dr. Ibezim commended the late patriarch’s “Think Home” philosophy, noting that it aligns with the development vision 2070 of the Soludo administration for Anambra State and prayed that the legacies of the late Nwofor would be sustained by his children and future generations.
Speaking further, the Deputy Governor reiterated that the administration of Governor Soludo remains committed to transforming the state through massive infrastructural development, adding that the level of progress already recorded is evident across several communities highlighted that by the end of next four years, ndi Anambra will not recognise the roads to their homes with the level of massive development that will be rolling out soon by the Governor.
# The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has pledged the support of the legislature for the proposed Special Seats Bill aimed at increasing women’s representation in Nigeria’s political institutions.
Rt. Hon. Udeze gave the assurance when a delegation from the Social and Integral Development Centre (SIDEC) paid an advocacy visit to the Assembly under Project IMPACT – Inclusive Mobilization for Participation, Advocacy, and Civic Transformation.
SIDEC is implementing the project in collaboration with the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, with funding support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Speaking during the meeting, the Speaker said the Assembly recognizes the need to strengthen women’s participation in governance and would support the proposed constitutional amendment when it comes before the House.
