* Operation Show Your Receipts for traders in all markets in Anambra state is beginning to yield expected results as government enforcement team led by Dr. Christian Madubuko has commenced visitations to markets on revenue drive. Madubuko said they would visit all the markets in Anambra state to recover government money and to fish out all revenue thieves pretending to be working for the state government.
* Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has commended religious bodies in the state for supporting the present administration of Professor Chukwuma Soludo, saying that together the dream of a new Anambra will be actualized. Ibezim gave the commendation during a church service at St Michael and All Angels Church Nawfia, in Njikoka Local Government Area.
* The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Rt Rev. Samuel Ezeofor says for God to do a miracle, certain law of gravity must be suspended. In a sermon at the Our Redeemer’s Chapel of Saint Catherine Comprehensive Secondary School Nanka in Orumba North Local Government Area during a service of confirmation and admission into Girls guild, Women’s Guild and Anglican Christian Mens fellowship for the School Community, Bishop Ezeofor who said that the life of Jesus Christ was full of miracles, urged the faithful to always engage in those acts that will make them benefit from the miracles and works of God.
* A book titled, “Save a Teen” authored by Miss Favour Ifemeje which focused on correcting moral decadence among teenagers and youths has been launched in Awka. Speaking during the event, a former Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Prof Uba Nwuba, lamented the level of moral decadence in the society, which according to him, has increased level of irresponsibility among teenagers and youths with high crime rate and violence in the society as part of the ugly consequences. Nwuba commended the author for her work and her Save a Teen Foundation describing them as right steps to salvage the situation.
* The Parish Priest of St Thomas Aquinas GRA, Awka, Rev Fr Francis Oranye, has described the joy of living together as husband and wife as supreme. Oranye urged fathers not to be worried by their family issues but to always use dialogue to resolve any crisis in the family. He harped on the importance of fathers being open to their wives to help them earn their trust and contribute to raising Godly children.
* A foremost evangelist, Dr. Uma Ukpai, has stormed the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State for a seven-day miracle crusade. The General Overseer of Bible Base Miracle Assembly, Rev. Jerry Nwachukwu, the organisers of the crusade said the visit of Ukpai, as “an apostle of miracle” will bring salvation, deliverance and healing to the people of Onitsha and surrounding towns including Asaba, the capital of Delta State. Other men of God expected at the programme includes the Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Anambra State chapter, Rev. Dr. Moses Ezedebego, Rev. John Mark from Equatorial Guinea, Apostle Alex Onuche with Sam Anya who provide gospel music.
* Ide Akwaeze Laboratories and ICT Complex built by Ide Ezeani Nzekwubuo Foundation under the chairmanship of Chief Ikenna Okafor, has been commissioned and handed over to the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia. The one-story ultramodern complex is situated at St Dominic Savio Seminary, Akpu in Orumba South LGA. The chemistry, biology and physics laboratories and ICT complex worth over thirty-nine million naira, has been fully equipped with all needed materials and chemicals, while Chief Okafor also donated books to the school library for mental development of the seminarians.
* Anaocha Strike Force, a division of Anambra State Vigilante Group (AVG) in Anaocha LGA of the State, has accused the State Security Joint Task Force (JTF), comprising the Police, Navy, NDLEA, Army, SSS, amongst others of thwarting their efforts in curbing criminal activities in the area.
Chairman of the vigilante group in the Council Area, Hon. Cosmas Onwuasoanya, disclosed this to journalists over the weekend at Community High School field Akwaeze, in the Council Area, after receiving a Toyota Sienna vehicle from a philanthropist, Chief Ikenna Okafor (Ide Akwaeze), to help strengthen security architecture in the area and the state in general.
* The vicar, Anglican Church of The Holy Spirit, Awka, Venerable Dr Rex Kanu has urged Christians to be obedient to the laws of God and tenets of Christianity. Kanu who stated this in a sermon which has its theme as ‘Miracle of Multiplication’ noted that they were instructed by God to go and multiple in all aspects of life but they can achieve such when they have total fear and trust in God.
