* Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has address strategic officers of the Command and renews action plans for the respective Area Commands and tactical Units, aimed at repositioning Officers and for an Improved and better security service delivery in the State. While addressing the Officers in his office at the Command Headquarters, Awka, CP Itam charged police officers to be more responsive and committed to duty. He directs the creation of training officers at the Area Command level to retrain Officers serving in the Police Divisions in areas of Police duties, musketry, and otherwise. 

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze says the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe’s status, world view and purposeful reign have qualified him to rank among the first-class Monarchs in Nigeria. Felicitating Igwe Achebe on behalf of the State Legislature as he marks his 83rd birthday, Rt. Hon. Udeze posited that the Obi of Onitsha has proved to be one of the most revered traditional rulers in Nigeria in view of his contributions to the growth and development of the country especially the South-East region. The Speaker who commended Igwe Achebe for his commitment and genuine efforts towards uplifting the status and affairs of the traditional institution in the state, extolled his sound understanding of the present administration’s efforts in promoting peace in various communities in the state.

* The newly appointed Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe(NOCEN) Provost, Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu has encouraged newly admitted students to report any case of maltreatment from any member of staff or from fellow students.

Delivering her address at the occasion of the 27th cum 43rd combined matriculation for Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) and Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) students of 2023/2024 session which held at the College Arena, Nsugbe, Anambra East LGA, Dr. Anyadiegwu after congratulating  the matriculating students said that phone lines and email address would be provided with utmost confidentiality to report any form of maltreatment. 

* The markets under Ogbaru Local Government Area have inaugurated Soludo Support Group (SSG) and vowed to garner votes for the re- election of Governor Charles Soludo come 2025 governorship election. The inauguration ceremony, held at Ogbaru Main Market, Ogbaru, also marked the launch of the ‘You Need to Know Campaign’. According to Mr. Chinedu Nwoye Glamour, National Convener of the SSG, the initiative aims to educate the public about the remarkable achievements of Governor Charles Soludo in terms of good governance and development, thereby ensuring an informed citizenry.

* Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Commissioner of transport and other relevant agencies to commence the compulsory use of life jackets in every waterways business in Anambra. The member representing Ekwusigo constituency Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme who sponsored the motion said whereas section 14(2)(b) of the 1999 Constitution stipulates that the protection of life’s and properties remains the primary purpose of government. Hon. Ofodeme who is the Majority Leader of the 8th assembly in his submission stated that the safety of citizens utilizing waterway transportation is of paramount importance.

*Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), Onitsha South Youth Wing have endorsed the Onitsha South Local Government Chairman, Mr Emeka Orji as the best council chairman in the state. In a press release, the Onitsha South ASATU Youth Mayor, Comrade Dunu Chiadikobi lamented that the local government administration has hindered community development in Anambra State. Despite previous efforts to decentralize governance and bring it closer to the grassroots, these initiatives have yet to yield meaningful progress.

Comrade Chiadikobi praised the progress made in Onitsha South Local Government Area since Orji’s administration began over two years ago, noting significant strides in decentralizing governance and benefiting local communities.

* The Vicar, St Peter’s Anglican Church, Akpo, Rev Canon Henry Durunna has called on Ndi Anambra to support Anambra State Government policies and programmes. Durunna said this in an interface with information officers, at the Church parsonage, in Aguata LGA.

According to him, Support means obedience to government directives especially where it favours the masses, closes the gap between the rich and the poor.

* The Anambra State Ministry of Transport has initiated a comprehensive training program on Special Trade Licenses, targeting various Motor Related Trade and Service Operators across the state in Awka during the weekend. 

Addressing representatives from these sectors, the Commissioner for Transport, Lady Patricia Igwebuike, emphasized the initiative’s aim to elevate vehicle inspection standards, ensuring the roadworthiness of vehicles traversing Anambra roads.

* The Transition Committee Chairman, Ayamelum Local Government Area, Mr. Livinus Onyenwe, has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his exceptional leadership and developmental strides in Anambra State, particularly in Ayamelum LGA. The chairman who made this known during a press tour of ongoing projects in the area, described Governor Soludo as an “uncommon administrator” who has repositioned the socioeconomic landscape of Anambra State. He highlighted the significant impact of the governor’s initiatives on the people of Ayamelum and the entire state.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated His Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, the  Obi of Onitsha, on the occasion of his 83rd birthday anniversary. Soludo described Achebe as an icon, a quintessential leader, a bridge builder and an embodiment of wisdom, integrity and service to humanity. In his congratulatory message signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, Soludo extolled the excellent royal qualities and contributions of Igwe Achebe to the growth and development of Anambra State
