* Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo says improved and strategic education can play important role in promoting healthy nutrition and overall health habits of women and children. Mrs Soludo stated this while addressing reporters shortly after attending the Governors’ Wives’ Summit recently. The governors’ wives had, during the opening day of the meeting, held discussions with key stakeholders on avenues of improving funding for nutrition among women and girls in Nigeria.

* The Governor of Anambra State and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has said he knew the president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the best man to take Nigeria out of her current socio-economic crisis to ‘the promised land.’ Soludo said this in an interview with Channels Tv recently.

* The Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms Chinwe Okoli says the present administration is poised to making Anambra the digital and creative capital of Nigeria. Okoli who disclosed this while speaking in Awka recently explained that their target is to unleash the creative ingenuity of Ndi Anambra towards actualizing the prosperous and smart mega state initiative of Governor Soludo.

* The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Chapter Awka has called on the government and Nigerians in general to disregard what they described as false claims by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige that ASUU members in three faculties of the institution namely: Basic Medical Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences and Medicine did not partake in  the 2022 ASUU National strike. According to a statement jointly signed by the Unizik-ASUU Chairman Comrade Stephen Ufoaroh and the Secretary, Comrade Peter Okoye recently, ‘the claim by Dr. Chris Ngige, that lecturers in the aforementioned three faculties did not participate in the strike is totally false, misleading, dishonourable and unworthy of a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.’

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the state will continue to enter into strategic partnership to maximize benefits for Ndi Anambra. Soludo made this statement recently at the inauguration of new state Executives of Christian Council of Nigeria, Anambra State, held at the Archbishop CJ Patterson Auditorium, All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, where he was given an award as the Solution Governor and Father of Ecumenism.

* The State Committee on Export Promotion in Anambra State has called for the sensitisation of local farmers on the need to embrace the services of regulatory authorities to guide them on how to make their products exportable. The committee, during a conference in Awka recently, expressed regrets that some products exported to European Union (EU) were rejected and sent back because those products were not scrutinised by certified agencies.

* Logistics are in top gear for the establishment of a revenue court in Anambra State. Commissioner for Transport in Anambra State, Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike, gave the hint during an interface with newsmen in Awka, recently.
Explaining that the court will help government fast-track prosecution of revenue offenders in the state, Mrs. Igwebuike said bringing justice for illegal revenue collectors will be given priority attention.

* Three healthcare delivery institutions operating as hospitals without registration and practicing licence have been uncovered in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The illegal hospitals were burst by a delegation of Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Team of the ministry following a tip-off recently.
About 10 workers engaging in quack and illegal work were also nabbed in the facilities.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Hon. Ify Obinabo has intervened in the case of a teenage girl, whose pregnant mistress stabbed with a knife.

Obinabo embarked on a trip to Lagos State recently, following a viral video circulating on social media of a girl identified as Chinaza Anienene, an indigene of Anambra State, whose mistress gave an open wound on the left side of her body. The survivor, stated that her aunty stabbed her with a knife because she failed to wash a bag given to her by the woman.

* Due to the lingering crisis in Anambra State between two factions of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), the national body of PCRC, recently, brokered peace between the two warring factions. National chairman of the committee, Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan Ibraheem, who led the national executive team to broker the peace, had, after hearing from all the warring factions in a closed door meeting held at the state police headquarters’ hall, Amawbia, asked all to sheathe their swords and work in harmony with one another.
