* A governorship aspirant on the platform of Labour Party, LP, in the 2025 Election in Anambra State, Mr John Nwosu, has assured the people of the state of his commitment to best practices and efficient service delivery through what he calls SHEEMS, even as he has said he will not promise what he cannot do.
Addressing newsmen at Geogold Hotel in Awka recently, Nwosu said he would be bringing into governance, a commitment to best practices and efficient service delivery with his Security, Health, Education, Economy, Environment, Markets and Social Welfare (SHEEEMS) governance platform.
On the rotational arrangement guiding governorship elections in the state, he affirmed that the people of Anambra State had respect for zoning and appealed to them to retain faith in it.

* Nurses in Anambra State are up in arms over the poor implementation of the new minimum wage, which has left them earning almost the same as cleaners and gatemen.
Despite Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s directive that there should be no exemptions or discrepancies, registered nurses and other health workers are taking home a meager N78,000
To put this into perspective, a security man with a primary school certificate gets N72,000, while a registered midwife earns N78,000, and a degree holder in nursing gets N82,000.
Chairman of the National Association of Nurses and Midwives Anambra State Chapter, Mrs. Edith Onwuka, expressed her confusion over the exclusion of nurses from the implementation, despite the governor’s express order that there should be no exemptions.
* 60 Agro Tricycle Tippers worth over 150 Million naira have been distributed to indigenes from the different wards in Adazi-Ani Community, Anaocha Local Government Area by Zeph Care Foundation, Adazi-Ani Chapter.
The Agro Tricycles, aimed at uplifting the beneficiaries economically, hence helping others in the process, were distributed at the residence of the founder of Zeph Care Foundation, Chief Chinedu Madubuko, in Adazi-Ani Community.
In his remark, the Chairman, ZEPH Care Foundation, Adazi-Ani Chapter. Engineer Ikechukwu Okafor, said that all the Tricycles have been duly registered for one year with third party insurance and ten litters of Petrol, expressing hope that the efforts of the foundation will in no distant future make a visible difference in the lives of the beneficiaries.
Engineer Okafor announced that every beneficiary must within nine months, pay a total sum of five hundred thousand naira to his kingsmen, who are playing an oversight function on them.
* An Anambra Chieftain of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Managing Director of Anambra Rice Mills, as well as CEO Zara Stores, Chief Akai Egwuonwu has stated that the Soludo’s fruits and vegetables Garden initiative will boost economic prosperity in the state.
Egwuonwu disclosed this shortly after Governor Soludo commissioned another free stalls for market women in Agulu, Aniocha Local Government Area, stating that Charly Nwa Mgbafor is dedicated to improving local infrastructure, empower market women thereby alleviating poverty and improving living standards.
He pointed out that the free stalls is a testament to Governor Soludo’s effort to provide a modern conductive environment for fruits and vegetables sellers, which he said, will rejuvenate the economic status of the people.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated the former First Female Governor of Anambra State, Her Excellency, Dame (Dr.) Virgy Etiaba, CON, on the occasion of her 82nd birthday today.
In his goodwill remark, Governor Soludo stated that Dame Etiaba’s invaluable contributions to the development of Anambra State remain commendable. The Governor added that her tenure as Governor was marked by dedication, integrity, and a strong commitment to public service.
The Governor further described Dame Etiaba as a trailblazer who has inspired countless women and young people to aspire to greater heights, thus making her legacy remain indelible in the history of Anambra State.

* The Nnewi Youth Forum has called on all critical stakeholders in Nnewi to join hands with Hon. Echezona Anazodo, the newly inaugurated Mayor of Nnewi North local government area, in making the community great once again.
The appeal was made during a courtesy visit by executives and leaders of Nnewi Youth Forum/Women Wing led by Hon. Ejim Ucheagwu to the Mayor of Nnewi North, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, who also doubles as a long-standing member of the youth body on Friday, the 1st of Nov. 2024.
The Forum declared her readiness to partner with the mayor in making sure that Nnewi returns back to her glorious days.

* The member representing Njikoka One Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon. Chidi Ibemeka, has commenced skilling programme to train and equip his constituents with all the necessary tools that would enable them to thrive in the marketplace.

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Hall Enugwu-Ukwu, is expected to be extended throughout the Njikoka one Constituency.
Speaking in an interview, Hon. Ibemeka revealed that the skill centre was inspired by the problem of joblessness and underemployment both of which can be seriously mitigated through upskilling.
