# Non-governmental organizations, Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) and Catch Them Young Community Initiative (CATYCOI) have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to urgently address alarming voter apathy and vote-buying undermining Nigeria’s electoral integrity.
At a post-election press briefing in Awka, they commended INEC and voters for a largely peaceful governorship election but highlighted persisting challenges.
PPDC’s Programme Officer for Access to Justice/ Democratic and Electoral Integrity, Abdullahi Adamu, noted that despite the calm environment across the 21 Local Government Areas, low turnout and vote-buying remain critical threats to credibility and public trust.
He said, “Over the course of five days – from 7th to 11th November – our teams monitored online civic spaces, campaign activities, misinformation trends, and election-day processes. We also engaged communities, listened to citizens, and tracked reactions after the announcement of results.
# The Chairman State Civil Service Commission Mr. Anthony Ezenwaka has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his historic re- election which has proved to some doubting Thomases that he has no serious contender in the exercise.
A press statement issued by Ezenwaka in Awka, appreciated the Anambra State electorate for their far sightedness and wisdom in reciprocating the governor’s good gesture in working towards building a prosperous Anambra State.
The Commission’s boss sent a message of hope to civil servants in the state to brace for a more invigorated civil service under Soludo’s watch.


According to him, Governor Soludo will keep faith with his unflinching salary alert gesture, promotion exercises, conversions, transfers, prompt payment of pensions and gratuities of retired workers among other welfarist packages for civil servants.
# Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated Her Excellency, Dame (Dr.) Virgy Etiaba, the former Governor of Anambra State, on the occasion of her 83rd birthday.
In his congratulatory remarks, Governor Soludo stated that Dame Etiaba’s remarkable stint as a former first female governor of Anambra State has not only paved the way for women in leadership but has also left an unforgettable mark on the socio-political landscape of the State.
The Governor further noted that beyond her historic tenure, Dame Etiaba’s relentless commitment to the advancement of education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment in Anambra has had a profound impact on the lives of countless families, while her legacy of service and passion for community development is still appreciated.
# The local government Chairman of Idemili-South, Dr. Mrs Amaka Obi inspected the ongoing construction of 3.2-kilometer Nnokwa – Awka-Etiti road project, which is currently at the asphalt stage.
Speaking during the inspection, Obi said the project is one of the critical infrastructure development aimed at enhancing connectivity and facilitating smoother transportation within Idemili South LGA.
“Once completed, the road is expected to improve access, reduce travel times, decongest Afor Nnobi and support local economic activities by providing a more reliable and durable route. Thank you Mr Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR for the road infrastructure, we are grateful”. The Mayor stated.

# The lawmaker representing Onitsha-South one constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Umennajiego, has said that the performance of the Labour Party in the November 8th governorship election was completely an abysmal failure as the party was able to garner just ten thousand votes in the contest.
Umennajiego who spoke on the conduct of the election, stated categorically that Labour Party didn’t participate in the said election due to what he mentioned as internal wranglings rocking the party.
The lawmaker stated that the party’s candidate in the just concluded governorship election ran a solo project without carrying anyone along; not even the party’s state chairman in Anambra.
# The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. (Mrs.) Nonye Soludo, has cautioned young girls against the false belief that sleeping with men can stop menstrual pain.
Mrs. Soludo gave the warning during the National Launch of the “Flow With Confidence” Initiative of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu held on Wednesday in Awka.
The event also featured the donation of over 10,000 disposable sanitary pads to schoolgirls in Anambra State, courtesy of Nigeria’s First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Soludo who is also the founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative described painful menstruation as a normal biological experience, urging girls not to be deceived by harmful myths.
# Traditional ruler of Nteje in Oyi LGA, Prof. Charles Aduaka has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo over his resounding re-election victory.
Aduaka, in a congratulatory message signed by himself, described the re-election as clear testimony of the confidence and trust the people of the state reposed in his visionary leadership, integrity, and transformative governance.
The Monarch said the victory also reflected collective will of the people to sustain the progress and innovation the governor’s administration has brought to bear in the state’s development trajectory.
