* The Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra East Dr. Anselm Onuorah has promised to pay additional five thousand naira logistics support to each of the three hundrend and seven health personnel and volunteers that are currently executing the immunization exercise in the area. Dr. Onuorah who made this known while flagging off the second statewide outbreak response immunization against Circulating Variant Polio Virus Type 2 at Umuoba Anam ward. The Anambra East Mayor said that the gesture was to complement the Anambra state government and other development partners in their budgeted for health workers in the four day exercise.
* Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has warned at nobody should threaten or harass the Young Progressives Party (YPP) member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Lady Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, in the rerun poll coming up in the area soon. Ubah condemned in strong terms, the gruesome murder of Chief Joseph Ezenwegbu, the YPP Chairman of Nanka ward 1 in Orumba North LGA of Anambra State. ANN recall that Mr Joseph Ezenwegbu was reportedly gunned down on Saturday, after organising a meeting of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) stakeholders and party faithful, which received Hon Princess Chinwe Nnabuife in Nnaka.
* The need to support the Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration was tops on the agenda of discussions at the Anambra Day 2023 in Abuja. Anambra day celebration is a cultural biennial event organised by the Anambra State Towns Peoples Association, ASTPA, Abuja to showcase the rich cultural heritage of communities in Anambra State. The 2023 celebration tagged ‘maka ndozi Anambra’ was also used to honour some deserving sons and daughters of Anambra State including Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Engineer Ebele Okeke, Ambassador Ifeanyi Omeokachie, Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, Senator Ifeanyi Uba, Sir Emeka Offor among others.
* Young writers in Anambra State is set to host the 2023 Chinua Achebe Literary Festival and Memorial Lecture on Thursday November 16.

* The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has expressed confidence that the “1 Youth, 2 Skills” Solution Initiative of Governor Chukwuma Soludo that saw the training and empowerment of 5,000 youths will have a positive impact in the development of Anambra State. Bishop Ezeokafor expressed this opinion in Awka during a mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka. Ezeokafor commended Soludo for his vision to engage the youths meaningfully through skills acquisition and empowerment.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated Senator Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on his victory in the just concluded gubernatorial election held on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
ANN reports that the Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Abayomi Fasina announced the results on Sunday morning where he declared Senator Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election with a total vote of 540,308 to defeat his closest rival Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who came second with total votes of 71,503. Following the victory, Soludo urged Uzodimma to be magnanimous in victory by extending a hand of fellowship to his co-contesters.
* Work is still in progress on all the Amawbia internal road projects awarded for construction by Governor Chukwuma Soludo. Work is at various stages of completion on the roads. ANN gathered that the roads are a total of 3.588km in length. According to the Managing Director of Daniels Construction Limited Engineer Daniel Nkwonta, they are working on seven out of the nine roads which are Onelibe Street, Presbyterian Church Street, Meniru Street, Prof Godwin Onu Street, Chief Victor Ndibe Street, Sir F.N. Nwalusi Street, Chief Dan Maduka Street, Onowu Street, Ngene Street and Umueze Umukabia Street, Amawbia.
* A mother of three and wife of an anglican priest, Mrs Ezinne Anieto has emerged 2023 UNIZIK best graduating student in pharmacy.
Ezinne exhibited great academic excellence, securing a remarkable 4.8 CGPA, the highest among the graduating students of Pharmacy at UNIZIK. Interestingly, Pharmacy is her third degree. She had earlier obtained a Second Class Upper Degree in Microbiology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She also earned a Master’s degree in Infectious Disease Immunology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, before proceeding to study Pharmacy.
* Senator Tony Nwoye has felicitate with the Traditional Ruler of Omor community, HRM Igwe Dr. Oranu Chris Chidume on his 57th birthday. Nwoye described Chidume as an outstanding statesman with passion for growth and progress of his people.
