# Anambra State government at the 22nd Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting, which took place at Light House Awka, agreed to build an additional thirty new primary schools across communities after receiving the report of communities lacking public primary and secondary schools.
ANSEC maintained that this will deepen the impact of the education programmes of the Solution Government and ensure that every community in the state benefits from the Soludo administration’s free education policy.

revealed the Council is committed to rededicate themselves to duty and to finish strong, and they also expressed gratitude to Ndi Anambra for their faith in Governor Soludo and for their excellent conduct before, during, and after the governorship election.
# The member representing Nnewi North Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Augustine Ike says he is in support of zoning system of government and that it was rotation fomular that made him a legislature.
Hon. Ike while speaking to Angel Network News (ANN) in his office on Thursday after plenary, maintained that
without zoning, he wouldn’t have been member of the 8th Anambra Assembly.
The lawmaker revealed that Rt. Hon. Chukwudi Orizu, who became the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Anazodo and Hon. Nonso Okafor who represented Nnewi North Constituency would have still been lawmakers.
# The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Ben Obidike, has said free ante-natal, free child deliveries and free surgeries initiated by the state governorr, Chukwuma Charles Soludo in general hospitals across the state, contributed overwhelmingly to his reelection in the just concluded Anambra 2025 gubernatorial election.
Obidike, who addressed journalists, after Soludo was declared the winner of the governorship election said the tate government built five new general hospitals and rehabilitated over 130 others, including primary healthcare centres across the state within three years of his administration, thereby revolutionising the state’s health sector.
He listed some of the health facilities to include General Hospital, Ekwulobia, Specialist Hospital, Fegge in Onitsha, Rehabilitation Centre, Nibo and Trauma Centre built at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka.
# The member representing Onitsha North one Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. MiMi Azikiwe says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) performed well during the just concluded Governorship election.

Network News (ANN) at her office in Awka on Thursday, maintained that the electoral process was successfully in her polling unite and Constituency as a whole.
“INEC did a good job considering the fact that the Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan
was recently appointed and the Anambra State governorship election was his first assignment.
” After the election, before 8:pm, about about 90 percent of the result have been uploaded already. I arrived at my polling unite by 7 am, and and around 9, voting has already commenced.
” There was no stress, no rancor and INEC conducted themselves very well. Just as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assured, the election was free, fair and credible. INEC delivered”. She said.
# The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has called on residents to continue supporting the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in sustaining the peace and safety recorded across the state, especially during the recently concluded elections.
In a personally signed statement, CP Ikioye Orutugu emphasized that with the Ember Months and Christmas season fast approaching, it is essential for Ndi Anambra to partner with the Police and other security operatives to ensure peace, order, and security before, during, and after the festive period.
According to the Commissioner, the Command deeply appreciates the high level of public cooperation witnessed in recent times and does not take it for granted.
The Police boss urged residents to maintain the same spirit of unity, tolerance, and mutual respect that has continued to strengthen the state’s collective resolve against any divisive tendencies.
# The medical community in Anambra State has expressed outrage over the arrest and detention of a consultant obstetrician, Dr. Chidiebere Ikeotuonye, by the 13th Zonal Command of the Nigeria Police Force, describing the action as “unjust, unprofessional, and an attack on the medical profession.”
Dr. Ikeotuonye was reportedly invited by Zone 13 Command in Ukpo, Dunukofia LGA, following the death of a patient he had operated on.
According to reliable sources, he honoured the invitation alongside other specialists involved in the case, but was subsequently detained after an interaction with the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of the zone.
Investigations revealed that the patient underwent a successful surgical procedure but later developed complications.
