* The Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Gen Chikelue Iloenyosi says all is set for a novelty match in honor of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

Iloenyosi disclosed that the novelty match will be held on Wednesday, 20th November 2024 at the Ifeanyi Ubah International stadium in Nnewi by 2:pm.

Also, Anambra media community in conjuction with friends and well wishers, will on Saturday November 16th hold a candle light process and night of tributes by 4:pm at Emmaus House field, Awka, in honour of Ubah.

* A bill for a law to establish the Anambra State Elderly and Senior Citizens Health Care Trust Fund and for connected purposes has been red for the first time at the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The bill was sponsored by the Deputy Minority Leader and member representing Ogbaru one constituency, Hon. Nobel Igwe.

* The Chief Judge of Anambra State, His Lordship Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachebell say the volume of cases filed in the High Court when compared to the current number of Honourable Judges leaves nobody in doubt that the state needs an increase in the number Judges.

Justice Anyachebelu in his speech with the theme; ‘Aadvancing Judicial Excellence in the 21st Century’ at the just concluded legal year ceremony, stated that it is not in contention that Anambra State is a very high litigious State in Nigeria and the number of law suits filed and determined in a year is only second to Lagos State.

‘The case of Lagos State is understandable owing to the large population of residents. However, when you compare the population of Lagos State vis-a-vis the population of residents in Anambra State against the background of cases filed in court, then you will be shocked to discover that Anambra State virtually has more court cases than any other State in Nigeria.

* A bill for a law to establish the Anambra State indigenous medicine and traditional practices and for other related matters has passed through first reading at the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The bill was sponsored by by the Majority Leader and member representing Ekwusigo Constituency Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has Performed the groundbreaking of the Anambra Makerspace in Awka, a transformative hub for technology, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

Governor Soludo while speaking commended the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) team, led by their Resident Representative, Elsie G. Attafuah, for their support in making the vision a reality.

UNDP Representative, Elsie G. Attafuah while speaking said ” we are delighted to do this and support the dreams of ndi Anambra.

She commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his transformative leadership qualities, stating that this projects will assist ndi Anambra in achieving and utilizing their potentials.

Justice Onochie Anyachebelu has discharge 24-year-old Kingsley Ndianeze accused of defiling a minor, and another 24-year-old Miracle Ibe accused of conspiracy and kidnapping

Anyachebelu freed Ndianeze and Ibe when he visited the Medium Security Custodial Center, Nnewi on jall delivery exercise.

Justice Anyachebelu, represented by his second in command and Administrative Judge of Onitsha Judicial Division, Justice Ifeanyi Nweze, also granted bail to a murder suspect, Benedict Ikebunna, robbery suspect, Ikenna Ezeoke, and Chimamkpam Ngeremba accused of stealing and malicious damage.

* A bill for a law to establish the Anambra State bursery and scholarship fund agency and for other related matters has been red for the first time at the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The bill was sponsored by the member representing Aguata two constituency and the Chairman House Committee on Health, Hon. Tony Muobike.

* The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ifeanyi Okoma has been mandated by the state government to commence the immidiate rehabilitation of major roads in Anambra West Local Government Area damaged by recent flooding of the area.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Mr. Tony Nwabunwanne in a WhatsApp message to the people of the area.

The WhatsApp message reads, “good evening my dear brothers and sisters. I have just made a case at our exco meeting today about the state of our roads after the flooding and Mr. governor has graciously directed the commissioner for Works and Infrastructure to move in and ensure soonest that the roads were fixed.

* National Productivity Center, Anambra state has held a symposium to commemorate the 21st national Productivity day celebration.

The symposium with the theme “National Productivity Movement: an imperative for economic recovery, sustainable growth and development” was held at the federal secratariate complex Awka on Thursday.

The guest speaker Prof. Dennis Aribodor of the department of parasitology and entomology, faculty of biosciences Unizik in his lecture, spoke extensively on the
roles and responsibilities of civil servants:

* The Speaker of Anambra House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s training as a renowned Economist has benefited the state greatly especially his prudent utilization of the limited resources to achieve maximum result.

Rt. Hon. Udeze while speaking on the 2nd edition of the Anambra Investment Summit held at the International Conference Centre Awka on Thursday,
described the Summit as presentation of Governor Soludo’s score card in two and half years in office, which he said, showcased giant strides in all sectors of the State economy.

The Speaker recounted massive road construction, employment of teachers and medical personnel, construction of key projects like the Ekwulobia flyover, new Government House and Lodge, transformation of Okpoko into a mega city with roads and hospitals, prompt payment of worker’s salary with payment of minimum wage to workers and pensioner, as well as empowerment of over thirteen thousand youths among others as some of the accomplishments of Governor Soludo’s administration so far.

He called on well meaning citizens especially industrialists to reflect on the theme of the Summit “Changing Gear: Accelerating Anambra’s Economic Transformation” by partnering the State government in different ways through home investment in order to boost the state’s economic potentials.
