* The All Progressives Grand Alliance has chided the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah for always trying to involve the good people of Nnewi in his selfish ambition and aspiration to become the governor of Anambra State by all means.

* An advocacy programme organised by the Association of Students With Special Needs of  Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has kicked off at the institution. The event with the theme, “Bridging the gap for an inclusive education and beyond” attracted media practitioners, relevant non-governmental organizations and members of the academic community. Declaring the event opened, the Chairman of the event and Director Centre for Disability and Special Needs Research, UNIZIK, Professor Williams Obiozor, said the programme is crucial in ensuring steady interaction with relevant stakeholders in order to address challenges the affected students and indeed persons with disabilities face.

* It was a bloodless war at the Awka City Stadium as matchday nine of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) between Enugu Rangers and Kastina United ended without a goal. ANN reports that the Coach Fidelise Ilechukwu turtored side failed to win for the first time at home this season as they could not convert their chances. The defence of Katsina United were cordinated enough to stop the flying antelopes from putting the ball behind the net.

* Mr. Ifeanyi Osunwa of Arthur Eze Building Material, Awka has booked a place in the final Draught game of the ongoing Anambra Traders Sports Competition. Osunwa will slug it out with Mr. Okoli Raphael of Plastic Market Ogbunike to play for the coveted gold medal in the event.

Osunwa and Okoli are now set to determine the winner and first runner up of the draught even of maiden Anambra Traders Sports Competition.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has held a one day program for members of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, ANCOPSS, South East Zone. She explained that the essence of the gathering is the continual training for Principals made possible by the ANCOPSS, noting that the greatest asset in Nigeria and South East is human capital and explained that the Anambra State government is currently working hard to ensure that the human capital development reaches its zenith.

* The Anambra State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance Chief Sir Ifeatu Obi-Okoye has felicitated with the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim on the auspicious celebration of his birthday anniversary. In a statement issued at the party’s secretariat, Awka, Chief Obi-Okoye described Dr. Ibezim as a great man, committed to the development of Anambra State, in action and words.

* Coach Felix Chukwugozie Agogo of Solution FC has commended his teams hard-fought 1-0 triumph over TradeSafe FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Conference B played at the Awka stadium. ANN reports that in a thrilling encounter on matchday one, the lone goal, scored in the 90+3rd minute, added a dramatic twist to the evenly contested match. Coach Agogo commended the players for their exceptional effort, considering the team’s recent formation. He emphasized the limited time the squad had to blend, with only three weeks of collective training and some players joining just two days prior to the match.

* Right Reverend Moses Nwakanma, the Bishop, Methodist Church Nigeria, Awka Diocese has administer the sacrement of confirmation to eighty candidates. Nwakanma  stated this at the Cathedral Church Of Holy Trinity Amenyi, Awka during a service to mark the conclusion of his episcopal tour to all the circuits in Awka Diocese. Nwakanma who spoke on the theme ‘Rivers of living waters’, stressed the need for every Christian to fight the fight of faith and salvation so as not to be found wanting on the last day.

* Some elders of Agbiligba, a village in Nanka Community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, have raised alarm over alleged attempt on their lives by gunmen suspected to be sponsored by some political and religious leaders within the community. The elders called on the state government, security agencies and the general public to hold Hon. Okwudili Ezewankwor; the traditional ruler of the town, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo; the President General of Nanka Patriotic Union, Rev. Cannon John Ezeke and their supporters responsible should anything unpleasant happened to them.

* The twice-postponed Onitsha City Marathon has finally been cancelled. This contained a statement released on November 9, 2023, by a member of the Organising Committee (MOC), Philip Balepo. No reason was given for the cancellation. The MOC merely said that they and GLS Projects, its Marketing Partners would look forward to organizing the event next year.
