* Anambra Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor says all is set for the
launching of security apparatus network in December.
Mefor made the revelation at a gathering convened by members of Anambra State Public Officers Forum, in Abuja
The Commissioner assured the citizenry of a robust plan to address insecurity in the State with technology.
He pledged that the decisive action will soon create a safer environment for the forthcoming Christmas celebration, fostering a sense of security and community spirit just as he accused politicians of creating security problems in the state.
* The Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam says the Command shall fish out the criminals that murdered four vigilante operatives and left two others seriously injured in the State.
The armed men on Monday operating in unregistered Lexus 330 SUV and Honda FJ Cruiser SUV at Ekeagu Abatete, murdered three members of the Vigilantes and injured another unsuspecting member of the public.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, gunmen at Ukpo junction, Dunkunofia LGA while escaping a hot chase by the Police Responding Team, shot and killed another member of the vigilante, injured another and set two vehicles ablaze.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased has been recovered and the injured are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

Madu who made the appeal while speaking to newsmen in Awka on Tuesday said she had lost confidence in the ability of the State Command and Zone 13 Ukpo to give her justice.

Rt. Hon. Udeze In his birthday message to Dr.Ibezim, noted that the Deputy Governor has in the past ten years, been contributing to the development of the State, having served as Special Adviser on Youths and Indigenous Medicine respectively, medical officer in charge of the State’s Oxygen plant at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, and now the Deputy Governor.
The Speaker enjoined Dr. Ibezim to continue to work cordially with his Boss, Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the interest of peace and development of the State.
Udeze while praying God to grant Dr. Ibezim longevity, good health, strength and wisdom to be able to carry on with his responsibilities, wished him more eventful years ahead.
* Awka community says it will set up various strategic committees that will collaborate with officers and Men of the Federal Road Safety commission to ensure the reduction of Road crashes especially this Ember Month.
The traditional Ruler of Awka Obi Gibson Nwosu who disclosed this during a town hall meeting organized by the Anambra State command of the Federal Road Safety commission in Awka, described safety on the highways as a collective responsibility and commended the sector commander of the Commission in Anambra, Mrs Joyce Alexander for all her efforts towards sensitizing the public on the need to obey traffic rules and regulations to minimize road crashes.
Obi Nwosu who spoke through the traditional Prime Minister of Awka Community Chief Benjamin Okoye, called for public support to the federal Road safety commission to achieve their set objectives.
* As the 12-month countdown to the November 2025 Anambra State governorship poll kicks off in earnest, the Chief George Moghalu campaign team has intensified her interactive meetings with critical stakeholders.
The Director General of the campaign organization, Chief Okey Chukwuogo commended the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Anambra State led by it’s chairman -Chief Uche Ugwoji, for honouring Chief Moghalu’s invitation.
Chief Chukwuogo noted that though he was unavoidably away on a very crucial assignment outside the state when they visited, he was informed that the interaction was very fruitful and beneficial to the polity.
* The people of Nando in Anambra East LGA of Anambra State have pledged their unwavering support to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for what they described as his administration’s sensibility to the plights and heart desires of the people.
This is coming as the Soludo-led government handed over another gigantic and newly-completed solar-powered water facility to gbe people of the community, bringing an end to decades of water scarcity in the community.
The 20,000-gallon revitalized water facility, located at Abube Nando, was facilitated by tge government through the State Ministry of Power and Water Resources, which also recently handed over the project to the community on behalf of the government.
* The Anambra State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Barr. Pauly Onyeka, has rated high the transformative efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in facilitating multi-sectoral development across the state.
Interacting with journalists in Awka, the commissioner detailed various impactful initiatives, stressing that the government’s approach is rooted in strategic, inclusive, and sustainable development aimed at uplifting the entire state.
He pointed out the significance of foundational documents guiding the administration’s policies, such as the ‘People’s Manifesto’ of the Governor, the 2017 Transition Committee Report, and the Anambra Vision 2070 document, which, he explained, are vital in providing the framework for the critical developments aimed at transforming Anambra into a highly developed state; further reiterating that every area of governance receives attention and resources.
* The Anambra State Chapter of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) has inaugurated Chief Sir Raph Nwike as its new chairman.
Nwike takes over from Dr. Ulasi Okwuchukwu Joachin, the immediate past chairman of the association and the current State Director of the National Population Commission (NPC).
The Chapter also inaugurated a new set of executive council members who will serve the association for a period of two years.
* Anambra State chapter of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has honoured the Chief Medical Director of Princeton Orthopedic Hospital, Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu with an award of meritorious medical practice.
Nwachukwu, a foremost orthopedic surgeon based in Awka is also the senior pastor of Rhema Deliverance Mission in Awka.
He was honoured alongside two other medical practitioners; Dr Samuel Udobi, and Dr Marcel Ifeanyi Ugha for their meritorious practice. Also awarded is Mr Chukwudi Nwafor, the Managing Director of Palm tree pharmaceutical company, who though not a medical doctor was described as a friend of NMA.
