* The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Rt Rev Samuel Ezeofor has charged teachers in institutions of higher learning to always aspire to be faithful Stewards by nurturing quality and responsible graduates who can contribute to the needed transformation in the society. In a sermon at the Anglican Chapel of the light, Federal Polytechnic Oko in Orumba North LGA, Bishop Ezeofor advised teachers to always be dedicated in teaching the students saying that doing otherwise is highly irresponsible.

 

* Iron Rod Market, Atani has cruised to the final of the 2023 Anambra Traders Cup competition following a hard fought 2-1 semi final victory over New Motor Spare Parts Market, Nnewi.

ANN reports that Iron Rod Market, Atani, are unbeaten so far in the competition and will face Nkwo Umunze in Sunday’s grand finale at Awka City Stadium.

* Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene has urged South East governors and other stakeholders to sustain efforts towards reviving apprenticeship schemes for which Ndigbo are known. Okeke Ogene while speaking in Awka, the Anambra state capital said this would help the zone tackle challenges of unemployment, crime and social vices. He recalled that the apprenticeship scheme in the past promoted a sense of enterprise and self-reliance among Ndigbo that advanced human capital development in the region.

 

* Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Anambra State, Hon. Levi Obiadua has said that the second term of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is not negotiable irrespective of the machinations of the opposition elements. Obiadua said whether the opposition parties like it or not, there is no vacancy in the Government House come 2025 and as a matter of fact, Soludo’s second term is already a done deal. 

* Anambra State Command Of Chaplain Corps Policing Explorers, CHAPOL has celebrated its tenth year anniversary in Awka the state capital.

Chaplain Corps Policing Explorers, CHAPOL, is a non-governmental paramilitary organization authorized by the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Education, to combat and possibly eradicate moral decadence and other social vices such as cultism, exam malpractice, drug abuse, lateness in schools and monitor loitering and truancy during school hours in all the 263 public secondary schools in Anambra State.

* The women’s wing of Christian Council of Nigeria Anambra State Chapter, has honoured wife of the governor of Anambra State and founder of the non-governmental crusade, Healthy Living with Nonye, Mrs Nonye Soludo as its 2023 Excellent Woman of the Year. The award presentation was a major highlight of WOWICCN’s 2023 convention held at the Basilica of Saint Andrew’s Church, Onitsha. The 2023 Excellent Woman of the Year award was presented to the governor’s wife in recognition of her roles in good governance, leading a crusade for healthy living and her significant contributions to the welfare of women and children in Anambra State under nineteen months of her husband’s administration. 

* The three years legal battle between Mrs. Nnenna Ezenwa and Reverend Father Ejike Nwankwo, may have come to an end with the two parties agreeing for an out of court settlement of their matter. A Federal High Court Judge in Awka the Anambra State capital, Hon. Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, brokered the peaceful settlement of the matter between the warring parties in the case.

* Residents of Iyiowa Odekpe in Ogbaru Council Area of Anambra syate have called for immediate government attention following the destruction of properties worth hundreds of millions of naira by touts alleged to be Odekpe youths. Some shops were also invaded and destroyed, and huge amounts of money removed by the youths. The Chairman of Landlord’s Association, Iyiowa Odekpe, Chief Sunday Obinze, said the whole crisis was as a result of illegal revenues levied on the residents by the youths, which the new leadership of the community resisted, as well as attempt by Odekpe indigenes to impose leaders on Iyiowa community, which he said yielded no result, as the Iyiowa community went on and conducted election that produced the new leadership.

 * Christians have been reminded of the need to always give thanks to God in order to attract more of His blessings. The Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province Most Reverend Valerian Okeke stated this during a Pastoral Visit to Christ the King Parish Onitsha.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has assured that he would continue to replicate the lofty transformative agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in Orumba South Council Area to enable meaningful development to thrive in the fifteen communities in the area.
