* Members of Angel Network News (ANN) Chapel has paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information Anambra State Dr. Law Mefor at his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex Awka.

ANN Chapel Chairman Mr. Bonvera Onyebuchi Ndubisi in his speech stated that the essence of the visit is to welcome the new Commissioner to Anambra State and to identify with him.

Mr. Ndubisi described the information Commissioner as a media friendly personality who have love for journalists. He assured that the chapel with continue to project the good works of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

* Hon. Maureen Gwacham, Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Oyi/Ayamelum, has offered a fully-funded scholarship to Miss Nnonyelu Chisom, a visually impaired orphan from Umerum in Ayamelum LGA, Anambra State.

This generous gesture comes after Hon. Gwacham read an appeal for assistance from Hon. Chukwuma Joelmary Ebubenna. She has taken it upon herself to cover all of Chisom’s educational expenses, ensuring the young girl receives the support she needs to thrive.

In addition to the scholarship, Hon. Gwacham has instructed Hon. Ebubenna to identify a comfortable and suitable lodge or hostel in Awka where Chisom will reside.

* Joint security forces comprising of Police and Anambra Vigilantes busted a shrine of a native doctor at Uru, Abagana, arrested two suspects and launched a manhunt on two others.

One pump action, the victim’s vehicle, rope, horsewhip and other incriminating items were recovered following the testimony of a rescued kidnap victim on Friday near Abagana Girls Secondary School.

In a release by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the
Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the suspects include one Maduabuchukwu, Ikechukwu Okafor age 30yrs, and Nweze Chijindu aged 38yrs all natives of Abagana while One Supuluchukwu Nweze and Sunday Nwakanze aged 30yrs are presently at large.

* The Federal Road Safety Corps has again debunked the notion that ember months and festive seasons are characterized by evil spirits which cause road traffic crashes at higher rate than other times of the year.

The Deputy Corps Commander, Policy, Research and Statistics Department, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Sector Command, John Oku made the clarifications while speaking during an hospital visitation by the corps to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, (COOUTH) Amaku-Awka, to conclude the 2024 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

While paying homage to those who died in road traffic crashes. Oku said the visit was to see those RTC victims to give them some consumables to aid their quick recovery.

* Child Protection Network, (CPN) Anambra State has called on secondary school students to stay clear of illicit sexual relationship which is capable of distracting and ruining their academic dreams.

CPN Coordinator, Eucharia Anekwe, gave the charge during a sensitization program on Child Sexual Abuse at Ideke Grammar School Odekpe, Ogbaru LGA.

Anekwe warned them against the distraction that comes with sexual relationship at their tender age.

* Joint Security Operatives comprising of Police and Anambra Vigilantes on Friday neutralised a member of an armed robbery gang operating along Nkwo Enugu Ukwu Road and recovered one Ak47 rifle, two magazines and five rounds of live ammunition.

According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the Joint Security Forces responded swiftly and acted on credible information about the planned activities of the notorious gang in the area.

The Operatives engaged the criminals and subdued them in a gun duel, while some of the gang members escaped with bullet wounds.

The Operatives have further sustained security dominance in the area and activated an onslaught of operations against the fleeing gang members.

* The Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Awkuzu, CSP Ifeanyi Iburu,
bid final farewell to his beloved mother, Late Mrs. Anyigor Christiana Iburu on Friday, November 22, 2024.

The burial ceremony took place at the Vincent Iburu family compound in Abaomege, Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.

The event drew attracted top security personnel including officers from the Anambra State Police Command, other police commands across the country, friends, and associates.

* The Nnewi-Owerri road has seen a major transformation as the Anambra State government, under the leadership of Governor Charles Soludo, commenced the demolition of illegal structures in a bid to expand and upgrade the road network in the area.

The operation, which is a critical part of the dualisation project of the Ekwulobia-Nnewi-Ihiala road, is aimed at easing traffic congestion and fostering economic growth in this industrial heartland of Anambra.

The exercise, conducted under the supervision of Nzuko Ora Nnewi President, Maduka Atueyi, saw teams clearing structures encroaching on the road’s right of way. This demolition is part of Governor Soludo’s broader urban renewal initiative, designed to modernize infrastructure across Anambra State and improve road safety and accessibility.

* The member representing Ayamelum at the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon. Udemeuze Bernard has commenced
2024 bursary disbursement fund scholarship.

According to the lawmaker, the scholarship award will get across the best jamb candidates across eleven political wards of Ayamelum with none partizan but strictly on merits.

The purpose is to motivate academic excellent performance in Ayamelum.
The following students will smile home today Saturday 16th of November 2024 with cheque of #200,000 each.

* The Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC) has announced date for party primaries in the Anambra State November 8 ,2025 governorship election in the state.

According to INEC the party primaries will hold from March 20 to April 10, 2025, while the candidate nomination portal will open on April 18, 2025, and close on May 12, 2025.

Political parties are expected to begin their public campaigns on June 11, 2025, and campaigning will end at midnight on November 6, 2025.
