# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has paid a courtesy visit to the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President Tinubu was overtly delighted to receive Governor Soludo his long standing friend of over 22 years.

The President used the occasion to further congratulate Governor Soludo on his landslide victory on the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial election

It will also be recalled that President Tinubu had earlier issued a congratulatory message to Governor Soludo immediately the governorship election was concluded and Governor Soludo declared winner with 73% of the votes cast by INEC.

# As political permutations begin for the 2027 general elections, Ogboro ward of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State have unanimously passed a vote of confidence and endorsement on Barr. Uzoma Dioha, saying that his capacity to redeem Ihiala one constituency from developmental backwardness and stagnation isn’t in doubt.

The collective decision to support Dr. Dioha’s political ambition stem from the fact that the people say they were sick and tired of poor and incompetent representations.

They said in their separate endorsement speeches that Dioha is a rare breed and doesn’t practice segregational politics, which they believe is the trouble with Ihiala 1 state constituency.

# A High Court sitting in Umunze, Orumba South judicial division and presided over by Hon Justice Jude Obiora has decried the issuance of certificate of recognition to Chief Timothy Okwudiri Ifurunwa as the monarch-elect of Ihitte community in Orumba South LGA

Ifurunwa was issued the certificate alongside other elected traditional rulers o by the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, despite contestations arising from his election, which gave birth to multiple court cases.

While High Chief Sampson Ikechukwu Okoli, Raymond Okoli and Mr Emeka Onyeanusi, acting on behalf of Umuezeoma kindred, Umuezeawuru village are contesting that the kingship should have gone to them by right, members of Ihitte traditional council are alleging they were by-passed in the election by a small cabal in the community, even though they are the kingmakers.

During a court sitting in Umunze, on the matter with suit number: HOS/47/2024, the judge contended that it was wrong to have issued certificate to Ifurunwa, while the legitimacy of his election was still being determined by the court.

When Hon Justice Jude Obiorah learnt that the defendants had planned to hold a coronation ceremony on January 3, 2026, he said: “Why was a certificate issued in the first place, when the matter is still in court? It is this lawlessness that has kept us where we are today.”

# The Chairman, State Civil Service Commission Mr. Anthony Ezenwaka is in high spirits over the 2026 budget size of Anambra State.

In a public press statement in Awka on the budget which many tagged as a budget of hope, Mr. Ezenwaka expressed hope that the governor has aptly made an estimate that will move Anambra State to the next level in the next four years.

Appreciating the budget size estimated at #757.9 billion as ideal, the Commission’s boss described the caption, “Changing Gears 3.0 Solutio Continues’ as heart warming.

According to him, the Solution government which has developed all sectors of the economy in all the three Senatorial Zones of the state, will in the 2026 fiscal year, improve on its track record and launch the state to greater heights in the next four years.

# Anambra State government through Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ASERC) has issued an interim license to First Power Electricity Company Limited, as electricity distributor in the state.

The Chairman Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ASERC), Prof. Frank Okafor stated that this is in an effort to ensure steady power supply in every part of the state.

Okafor said the government of Professor Chukwuma Soludo is poised to make the state a choice destination, and this cannot be achieved if power still remains a luxury in the state.

He said with the new issuance of a temporary license to First Power which will last for one year, the commission will be looking forward to improved power, while also vowing that it will ensure thorough oversight over the activities of the company to ensure that targets are met.

# The Mayor of Njikoka, Hon. Chinedu Ononiba has applauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the timely and well-structured presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Bill to Anambra State House of Assembly, describing the budget as “a forward-looking financial framework that reflects strong commitment to development, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth.”

Speaking shortly after the budget was laid before lawmakers, the Mayor of Njikoka praised the administration for prioritizing critical sectors such as education, infrastructure, economic development, health, and social welfare, noting that the allocations align with the needs and aspirations of citizens.

He highlighted the significant increase in capital spending, which he said demonstrates the government’s resolve to accelerate infrastructural renewal, expand economic opportunities, and strengthen service delivery across the state. The Mayor further commended the robust investment in the education sector, which recorded one of the highest percentage increases from the previous year.

# Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Udeh has
commended Idemili South Mayor, Dr. Amaka Obi for her consistent commitment in improving educational infrastructure across the local government

Prof. Udeh in her speech during the
commissioning of the renovated four-classroom block at Community Primary School, Nnokwa, stating that the project has brought renewed hope to pupils, parents, and teachers in Nnokwa.

In her remarks, Dr. Amaka Obi appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for boosting educational sector, saying that since Professor Soludo took mantle of leadership, he has touched all the sector.

‘If you want growth and development; it is not in bricks and mortar, it’s in the capacity of the people; the education of the people; in what we build in people and there’s no better way than making that investment in the young ones; in the little children.

“A child that is well brought up today in education will tomorrow bring greater things. She added that her administration will continue to focus on people’s oriented projects”. Obi said.

# The Anambra State Town Union Council, ASTUC, Youth Wing, has presented a ‘Transparent And Examplary Leadership Award’ to the Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Queen-Elizabeth Agwu.

Presenting the award to Dr. Agwu at her office in Awka, the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Ken Okoli explained that the gesture was to appreciating Dr. Agwu for her examplary leadership style since she assumed office in the state.

Okoli further revealed that the State REC has been conducting credible, free and fair elections since her arrival, describing the just concluded Anambra governorship election which she conducted as the most credible and transparent election ever conducted in the state and Nigeria at large in recent times, urging Dr. Agwu to continue her good works.

Responding, Dr. Agu who said that she has conducted six different elections since her arrival in the state, appreciated ASTUC for finding her worthy for the award, saying that when she was appointed to oversee Anambra, she made a vow to God that she will never compromise under any guse, because of the complexity of the State.

Agu further dedicated the award to God and the entire staff and management of the commission, assuring that she will continue to conduct free, fair and credible elections, and will also leave legacy that will stand the test of time, calling on the youths to believe in the country.
