* The Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol, Hon. Chief Chinedu Nwoye has condoled with the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Hon. Neville Uchendu over the death of his father. During his condolence visit, Glamour stated that the death of Hon. Neville’s father was a great loss to Orumba South, noting that he lived a life worthy of emulation. He urged Hon. Neville and Uchendu’s family to take solace in the fact that he lived a life worthy of emulation, as his many legacies continue to bear admirable testimonies to a life that positively impacted several others.
* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has emphasized on the need for journalists to pursue the course of ‘Pragmatic Media Practice,’ towards ensuring ‘sustainable socioeconomic development’ of Nigeria. Barr Ezeokenwa made a passionate to that effect in his speech at the ceremony marking the conclusion of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Chapter’s 2023 Press-Week and Man of the Year Award Presentation.
* The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra Chapter had appealed to the Anambra Sports Development Commission and the State Football Association (AnSFA) to end their feud in the interest of sports in the state.
SWAN made the call in a Statement in Awka while reacting to Face-off between the bodies.
ANN reports that the AnSFA had banned one Chijioke Onyedika, a staff member of Sports Commission over alleged anti football activities for a period of five years but Commission overruled the ban arguing that the FA lacked the locus.
* The originator, initiator and founder of Soludo Support Group (SSG) and Chairman of All Soludo Support Groups (ASG) Hon. Chinedu Nkemakonam Nwoye (Glamour) has said that those who held a clandestine meeting at Maybond Hotel Awka on Thursday 2nd November, 2023 are not SSG members but touts paid by opposition elements to frustrate the government of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo (CFR). Nwoye who is also the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocols, further accused attendees to the said secret gathering as doing everything within their circle to ensure they created confusion and rancour in SSG to pave way for opposition parties to capitalize on the loopholes they would have created.
* Prophet Dan Okechukwu Ezeudoka has made a staggering revelation concerning the long attempted Igbo president of Nigeria. Speaking with the media recently, Prophet Dan recalled that he had made a prophesy in the past concerning former Governor of Anambra State Dr. Chris Ngige and how he needs to either be the president of Igbo extraction people seek or the person to anoint that Igbo president. He stated that recently the prophesy has become clearer indicating that indeed Ngige is the chosen one by God for Igbo President.
* The leadership of the flagship political support structure in Anambra state, Soludo Support Group (SSG), has expelled its former National Coordinator and Convenor, Mr Chinedu Nwoye also known as Glamour. Other expelled members were Emmanuel Oramalu, Ochije Mmodilim, VanGorge Ezeogidi, Sam Emeka, Chimdindu Orakwue and John Ikechukwu while 17 others are still under investigation. ANN gathered that the expulsion followed allegations leveled against him by the members of SSG including highhandedness, usurpation of powers, financial impropriety misrepresentation and refusal to apologise to the body for misleading statements against the leadership of SSG.
* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze says Anambra State has produced a preeminent priest in Africa, Francis Cardinal Arinze. Felicitating Cardinal Arinze, the Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments on his ninety-first birthday, Udeze described him as an outstanding religious leader.
* The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has affirmed the election of Senator Dr Tony Nwoye of the Labour Party (LP) as the duly elected Senator for Anambra North Senatorial District.
The three-member panel held that the appeals against the lawmakers lacked merit and unmeritorious. ANN recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had, on Feb. 25, declared the Dr Tony Nwoye as the winner of the National Assembly election to represent the people of Anambra North.
* Commercial sex workers in Anambra State have commended the State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo over road construction in state.
